In previous wars, tough soldiers used to talk about REMFs by which they meant Rear Echelon Mother F...ers. These were all those safely away from the front lines where combat occurred. The Ukrainian war is changing our our understanding of war in the 21st century in many ways - use of drones, propaganda as one of the combined arms, MANPADS against tanks, etc. One small way in which war is changing is the meaning we must now attach to REMF. With HIMARS, drones and sabotage the Ukrainians are striking the rear echelons regularly - blowing up arms dumps, command headquarters, airfields and so on. In combat you know when an attack might happen but in the rear echelons total destruction might happen anytime. And so we have to say that REMF now means Rear Echelons Mother of a F---ing.

Is there some “crossing State lines” regulation that can be invoked to keep Howard from traveling into New York? It appears that there is a phenomenal pollution potential regarding Lake George if he and his wet-suit are allowed in the water.

I have one anecdotal reference and choose not to verify or fact check it because I want it to be true. Does that sound familiar? Anyway, my source stated that she heard that (see how factual I am) Walden Pond had one of the highest concentrations of urine in the waterways of Massachusetts.

Lake George is pretty big, but still.

For your pleasure:

Crimson flames tied through my ears
Rollin’ high and mighty traps
Pounced with fire on flaming roads
Using ideas as my maps
“We’ll meet on edges, soon,” said I
Proud ’neath heated brow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I’m younger than that now

Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth
“Rip down all hate,” I screamed
Lies that life is black and white
Spoke from my skull. I dreamed
Romantic facts of musketeers
Foundationed deep, somehow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I’m younger than that now

Girls’ faces formed the forward path
From phony jealousy
To memorizing politics
Of ancient history
Flung down by corpse evangelists
Unthought of, though, somehow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I’m younger than that now

A self-ordained professor’s tongue
Too serious to fool
Spouted out that liberty
Is just equality in school
“Equality,” I spoke the word
As if a wedding vow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I’m younger than that now

In a soldier’s stance, I aimed my hand
At the mongrel dogs who teach
Fearing not that I’d become my enemy
In the instant that I preach
My pathway led by confusion boats
Mutiny from stern to bow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I’m younger than that now

Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect
Good and bad, I define these terms
Quite clear, no doubt, somehow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I’m younger than that now

I call the Biden's Cabinet The Plywood Cabinet. Plywood is made with a veneer resembling a real wood over a core of sawdust, It is often used in making cabinets. Similarly, the requirement used in making Biden's Cabinet was that its members have a veneer that resembles a reality, e.g., "Black", "Woman", "Gay", over a solid core of sawdust.

Headline: Wind Turbine Collapses: ‘Leaking Oil Everywhere!

“A wind power turbine just collapsed in Sweden. People are being warned to keep their distance because...it is now leaking oil everywhere!"

Who knew that a wind turbine gearbox contains between 53 and 211 gallons (depending on size) of oil and must be changed every ear? Fortunately all of the oil comes from the McDonald's fryer (sarc).

Here’s something I’ve been wondering about. What if a teacher took the same attitude toward Christianity (or Islam) that some teachers take toward gay or trans.

Put up symbols celebrating the thing in your classroom.
Tell your students about the teacher’s positive experiences with the thing.
Taking your students to organized meetings that celebrate the thing.
Teaching students how to tell their parents that the students are interested in the thing.
Promoting books and movies that celebrate the thing.

Maybe I don’t have an exhaustive list here, but enough so that people get the point.

I’m pretty sure that a common answer is: “Christianity is different because it is a religion and it is illegal (unconstitutional?) for a government employee to promote a religion.” But even non-religious (or anti-religious) people can see that pushing a student toward Christianity is a lot less harmful than pushing the student towards trans-sexuality. Do people disagree with this, and think that trans-sexuality is more benign than Christianity?

(I’m of an age where I said the Lord’s Prayer in my public school class up to the fourth grade. But my parents took me to church every Sunday and I didn’t feel that it was pressure. My best friend was Jewish, and it never occurred to me how he might have felt. But I recognize that Lord’s Prayer was in it’s origin, a Jewish prayer, and there is nothing in the prayer that is contrary to Jewish teaching, as far as I can

While she was working as a reporter for CBS, Ms. Attkisson’s work and home computers were invaded and taken over by the FBI, evidently because she had incurred their ire over her reporting.
The FBI had intended to plant child porn in her husbands computer.

The FBI has to be disbanded. They are corrupt to the core.

@Humperdink: Whatever we do, we should never calculate the cost of disposal of defunct wind turbines, or billions of solar panels. And especially never, ever compare them with the cost of disposal of spent nuclear fuel.
(And how many lives have been lost to dam failures?)
