Yes, I have been waiting to hear the name of the rapist and news of his arrest or details about a rape by an unknown man who has eluded arrest. Of course, I care about a 10-year-old girl facing pregnancy and denied access to abortion in her home state. But rape is an even more serious problem!
If this rape is only coming to our attention because of the difficulty of obtaining an abortion, and if even here we are left to wonder if the rape has been reported to the police, we should think about how much rape has been covered up over the years by abortion.
Abortion is about womens' and girls' bodily autonomy, but it is also about hiding the evidence of rape, and freedom from rape is even more important than freedom from unwanted pregnancy.
So we should all be demanding to see that the rapist of this 10-year-old girl be brought to justice. But perhaps the story was made up, and that's the reason we don't know the name and the fate of the rapist: There is no such person.
Why would 6 weeks pass without medical attention when a 10-year-old child is raped? Here is an incident that should be immediately reported to the police. If it was not, then it must be that some man — perhaps a family member — was coercing the child to protect him. Is the child still dominated by this man? We should know a lot more about what happened. The need to make the trip from Cincinnati to Indiana is the least of it.

Cornpop did it...
Even if it were all true and properly reported - don't hard cases make bad law? Admit I never understood that maxim.
Or does this sort of thing happen all the time?
Even WaPoo has been unable to confirm the story. The female abortionist has a history of activism .
"Why would 6 weeks pass without medical attention when a 10-year-old child is raped?"
Very good question. Amanda Ripley, here's what we need the news for.
There are indeed several good questions about the 10-year-old girl story that deserve attention. But there is also a good question to be addressed concerning your remark that "Abortion is about womens' and girls' bodily autonomy. What about the autonomy, or at least integrity, of the person the prospective mother is carrying. It is not part of the mother's body, for it has different DNA, and after some point of development (conventionally, around six months), it is capable of survival if expelled or removed from the mother's body. Perhaps this is why in more than two dozen states, I can be charged with two homicides if, for example, I drunkenly run down a pregant woman in a crosswalk and both the woman and the fetus die. Absolutist think on either side of the abortion debate is not a useful or even rational approach to the matter.
10 appears to be a little young. Bur why let the facts get in the way of a good story.
A woman can get pregnant and have a baby as soon as she begins ovulating, or producing eggs. This typically occurs about a year after they first begin menstruating, which for North American women, usually happens between the ages of 11 and 12.

If only there was some independent institution, protected by the Constitution, that could investigate this kind of story and bring the information to the public in a timely manner, perhaps in the form of some kind of daily publication, or weekly journal.
If only...
I don’t believe the story. Make it a 14 year old and I might bite.
Of course the 10-year old isn't real, but Joe Biden could swear he sniffed her hair.
All this concern about the mishandling (both medically and legally) of the ten year old's rape is legitimate but only if the story is true. Since the sole source is an abortionist and and apparently a propagandist, I'm reserving judgement.
Under Ohio 2907.2, sex with < 13 is always rape. Suppose dad was 12, mom 10. Is this theoretical 10 year old a rapist? Should a doctor report a rape if she has reason to believe her patient is a rapist? Should we treat male and female rapists the same? I agree that in practice no charges would be brought and this probably didn't happen in the first place.
Sorry, I have to call BS on this one. The timing, lack of corroboration of any sort, the history of activism for the reporter, it never happened.
Indiana State Slogan: "Hoosier Daddy?"
There's a reason this faded from the news so quickly. It's hard to sustain a lie in this day and age.
Though many still believe in Russian collusion...
Lying liars lie and lie,
Doo-dah! Doo-dah!
’…a 10-year-old patient who was pregnant and seeking an abortion a few days past Ohio’s six week limit.’
Bullshit on every level. How did they determine a few days past six weeks? Who took the girl to the clinic? Where’s the police report? Which clinic in Ohio turned her down?
Lesson from 20 years of litigation. When a piece of evidence that perfectly supports one side’s case pops up at the exact moment it’s needed, be suspicious. If it pops up with no provenance and no supporting details, be very, very suspicious.
It also goes back to the big issue about age-of-consent. I'm under the impression that in some states an underaged female can ask for and consent to abortion at an age where she is not legally entitled to consent to a marriage (At least, not to marry without parental consent) Many states also set an age-of-consent to sexual intercourse, on the notion that an underage female has not yet developed the mature understanding of the act and potential consequences. At least a few such states (last I checked, which was some time ago) were upside down in that the underaged female who was not legally able under state law to consent to either having sex or to entering a marriage without parental approval DID (under federal Roe interpretations) have a legal right to consent to an abortion.
All this apart from the disconnect between abortion "rights" and laws prohibiting young females from buying liquor, or cigarettes, or getting tattoos, or carrying a weapon, or having body parts pierced, or signing contracts, or operating a motor vehicle at certain times of the night or with more than a small number of other young passengers, or a dozen other laws, varying from state to state, designed to protect young people from the seriously consequential mistakes common to the immature.
Nothing to add to that - it's been an issue that has concerned me for years.
Even the seemingly simple issues - is the mother bringing in a girl for an abortion the girl's mother or the boy's? If your "of age" son impregnated an underage girl, what would you do to protect his future? Would you even tell her mother or simply act as if you were the appropriate parent for the girl? I know what record-keeping should be but how hard would it actually be to get around when some clinics were so poorly monitored? (Thinking of Gosnell's)
Probably made up from whole cloth. It harder to fill in details such as the name of the rapist (my first question when the story appeared), the circumstances, etc. when you have to make them up as you go along. Coupled with the fact that this first came to our attention in support of an agenda, I'd be surprised if it has much basis in fact. But I don't know for sure.
FWIW I'm pro-choice but I think many of its supporters undermine their own case with stuff like this.
I'm sure there will be severe consequences for all those responsible if it turns out this is completely made up.
Great questions and points. Some other questions come to mind:
If this story is true, would a 10-year-old’s pregnancy not fall under a life of the mother exception?
If you were an abortion doctor in Ohio, and this girl came to you, would you not take your chances with the law? For a raped 10-year-old? If you perform abortions routinely, you already believe this is a necessary, morally justified service you provide. And this case is tragic, heartrending. Hell, I’m against most abortions; if I were a cop I wouldn’t make the arrest, if I were the DA I wouldn’t indict, and if I were on the jury I wouldn’t vote to convict. Not for a raped 10-year-old.
That’s assuming Dr Bernard didn’t make it up - or transpose it from Brazil, where I believe a court did indeed deny a similarly young girl permission to obtain an abortion.
Re Unknown's query about 2 counts of homicide if a drunk runs over a pregnant woman-
What if the woman is not seriously hurt but the baby dies?
Is that homicide?
A civil tort (loss of companionship)?
Is it worse if the woman had to go to great length to get pregnant (IVF)?
Or, at the other end of the spectrum, what if she was on her way to get a legal abortion?
Better for the woman (and her lawyer) for it to happen in Texas than Massachusetts?
Caitlin Bernard is a mandatory reporter. If she did not report a ten-year-old's pregnancy - and it appears that she never made any such report - then she is guilty of a severe felony.
Of course, her defense will be that she did not make any report because there was no pregnant ten-year-old seeking an abortion from her.
You folks are funny.
None of this adds up because none of it happened. It's a made-up story to generate clicks and give politicians something to distract you with.
Stop being idiots.
So did the 10-year-old hitchhike to Indiana for the abortion?
"Lying liars lie and lie, Doo-dah! Doo-dah!"
This is far funnier if you sing it in the voice of Foghorn Leghorn.
“Sorry, I have to call BS on this one. The timing, lack of corroboration of any sort, the history of activism for the reporter, it never happened.”
I agree. It’s just way too convenient - the timing, the age of the girl, etc. It just reeks of the same opportunism that gave us all of those claims of rape, a sex ring, etc, about Boy Scout and alter boy Justice Kavenaugh during his confirmation hearing. What are the odds that a 10 year old girl gets raped, pregnant, needed an abortion, and couldn’t get one because Roe v Wade was just thrown out, just a week or two before? Throw in a vocal abortion activist abortionist, reporters not being able to corroborate or validate much of anything there, and, indeed, not even really trying very hard to do so, and in mind, the probability approaches unity that the whole episode was fabricated for political advantage.
On a related topic - that is why “Me Too!” Is a direct indictment of the honesty of women. If you have raised daughters, you know that many of them will lie in order to bond, to become a part of a group. Women claiming that Kavenaugh was a rapist were coming out of the woodwork for awhile, with their stories more and more fantastical. I have recounted here, my experience with one adult woman making up a sexual harassment Liam, because the Queen Bee that she wanted to impress had made a similar claim. Me Too! says to me that many, if not most, of the women yelling it, are lying through their teeth to fit in with other women.
And, throwing out something else - how can they be using terms like “women” and “girls”, when those terms have been separated now from the necessity of those identified ever having had a vagina or uterus? Heck, the girl may be the rapist now, and the boy the one in need of an abortion.
“Yes, I have been waiting to hear the name of the rapist and news of his arrest or details about a rape by an unknown man who has eluded arrest.”
What’s with “his” and “man”? If men can get pregnant, surely women can impregnate girls. Woke up!
the child’s alleged rapist
The child - if she exists - is TEN YEARS OLD. There is no "alleged" about it. Sex with a 10-year-old, impregnanted or not, IS RAPE. Period. Per se. In and of itself. IT IS RAPE. Use of force or not, use of pressure or not, whether the perpetrator says "she wanted it" or not, IT IS RAPE.
Any time someone ten years old has sex, IT IS RAPE. There is no consent, legal, mental, emotional, spiritual or otherwise.
And this is a MAJOR problem with abortion providers -- they turn a blind eye to rape. They do not report it even though they are mandatory reporters. They are complicit.
When the pro-abortionists started pushing this story, NONE of them made the connection that a pregnant ten-year-old is necessarily a rape victim. NONE of them mentioned anything about rape.
If she was seen in any clinic in Ohio -- they too are mandatory reporters.
Child sex abuse was found to get huge news ratings in the 70s and the rest is history. Learn to recognize bait.
The point is there is no actual evidence that this ever happened. Just Dr. Bernard's assertion.
And from what I understand the good doctor has not been available for comment lately.
Being killed by a lightning strike is literally hundreds of times more probable than being 10 years old and pregnant. When these cases are discovered they are usually international news. It is so rare in the United States that you cannot even get statistics easily (usually the age is cut off at 14 or 15).
Why am I not seeing any attempt to contact Ohio's state law enforcement agency and verify this?
What's wrong with going to another state? That's what's supposed to happen. That was my reaction.
The Ohio law is idiotic but the incumbents will find that out in November.
Kinky Friedman's interstate abortion song Rapid City South Dakota has some emotional power.
I live in Ohio. The absence of news coverage about the actual details is very telling. A crime this heinous would normally get extensive coverage, even without the abortion aspect. Where did it happen? Has there been an arrest? It's fake news, but there will be no apologies or corrections, including from our President.
A sad state that reflects our society: if true in this instance, that this occurs; if false, that the ‘media’ would use such a horrific lie to further an agenda.
I asked an OB if he could estimate the start of a pregnancy within a week. He said, maybe. But it's a guess, especially a young, small patient. Within three days? No way.
I don't believe the story, but even if it were true, I don't really get the point of it. Is the point that the cutoff in Ohio for getting an abortion should be several days later than six weeks, because it's possible to miss a strict six-week cutoff? (Since we don't know what caused this girl to miss the cutoff by "a few days," it's hard to base any policy choices on her example. Obviously, ANY cutoff point is bound to be somewhat arbitrary and any cutoff point can be missed.) Or is the point that, because the girl was raped and only ten years old, a different cutoff should apply? (But why would a woman who is raped need MORE time to determine if she was pregnant and decide to get an abortion? I would think the determination and decision-making would actually come faster under those circumstances.)
Also, I gather that, if the story is true, the girl got the abortion in Indiana. At most, that's a few hours' drive from anywhere in Ohio. So now what's point? To pick up on Ann's point, the fact that a ten-year-old girl was raped and impregnated is an extremely serious concern. That she may have had to travel 3-4 hours to get an abortion is hardly the least of her problems or the aspect of this case that society should be focusing on.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. The word of an abortionist with a vested interest in the politics of the issue doesn't cover that.
The story is fake. But that doesn’t stop Biden and the Democrats from running with it.
Even IF the story was real, it is not the crux of the abortion debates and disagreements in the US with 93% of abortions being elective, and many simply a form of birth control.
What else is fake that Democrats promote? Global warming? Safe and effective mRNA shots? Election integrity? Voter fraud? Men can get pregnant? Women have penises? White supremacy?
This fake story is just par for the liberal Democrat course.
Apparently the last dying gasp of the Dems before they face facts and begin to work in the states.
At this point it is all flailing desperation from abortion till birth liberals. You’ve got Elizabeth Warren calling for “pro-life” clinics in Massachusetts that help young women bring babies to term. That’s sick and twisted. And...it’s real. She’s nuts.
It’s not hard to see that Democrats would trot out a fake rape story. That’s sick and twisted too. If the abortion ‘doctor’ is an activist, we’ve all seen what liberal women are willing to lie about for fifteen minutes of fawning fame.
'Indiana State Slogan: "Hoosier Daddy?"'
Ha! Winner...
The circle-yet-to-be-squared is how you can have, simultaneously, the propositions that a.) women have a right to abort their fetuses, b.) children who haven't reached the age of majority to enter contracts have a right to change their expressed gender through surgery, c.) that fetuses don't have a right to their own bodily autonomy, but their host does, and that d.) all of this makes perfectly consistent sense. I could go on, but you get the general idea--Pick something the woke espouse, follow the arguments out to the logical end conclusions, and then ask how that reconciles with just about anything else they have to say...
You start to demand that these people tell you what they think and make their arguments for whatever ludicrous insanity that they're espousing, then the internal and external contradictions gradually come to dominate everything they're saying. The amazing bit is that most of them are utterly blind to those stated contradictions, even as they make them.
This story was obviously false from the start. It is a demonstration of how dishonest the Roe supporters and the Regime have to be to get anything out of it.
Roe v. Wade is dead. The issue will die. Only a few ignorant and gullible bitter clingers will think it is an issue in a month.
Was Joe Biden in Ohio a couple of months ago?
Of course this story is completely fabricated. Anyone not realizing this the instant they heard it should probably look into passing power of attorney to a trusted family member.
Of course, Inga, Freder, Readering, Mutaman, Lefty Mark, and Daniel12 will be repeating this story or others like it every other month until 2024's election.
And, really- how easy would it be for a 10 year old to get an abortion in Indiana? Who would perform such a thing?
And Bob Boyd wins yet another thread.
here's the fun part..
IF this happened (which is Highly Doubtful)
It was ALMOST Certainly the rapist (that is; the 10 year's mom's boyfriend) that drove her to Indiana.
Planned Parenthood is in THE BUSINESS of providing abortions to underage girls pregnant by family members. Planned Parenthood NEVER notifies the police, because "That Could hurt Sales"
Publicly available court
documents filed in that case reveal that Planned Parenthood has a “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy
Last year, a Planned Parenthood facility in Tempe, Arizona was investigated for failing to
report the alleged rape of a minor.10 Previously, two different Planned Parenthood facilities in
Arizona were caught on tape failing to report statutory rape.11 Another Planned Parenthood
facility some years before failed to report the rape of a 13-year-old girl by her 23-year-old foster
brother until after she was brought in by the abuser and a second abortion was committed just six
months after Planned Parenthood performed the first. 12
In Ohio, a Planned Parenthood facility permitted a soccer coach who had impregnated a
14-year-old to sign off on her abortion without her parents’ knowledge or consent.13 In another
case, Planned Parenthood performed an abortion on a girl who was being sexually abused by her
father and failed to report the abuse despite the young girl telling Planned Parenthood employees
she was being forced to do things she didn’t want to do.14 And in yet another Ohio case, a young
girl was sexually abused by her mother’s boyfriend.15 During the extended period of abuse, the
girl was brought to Planned Parenthood for an abortion.16 Apparently no report was made to law
enforcement by Planned Parenthood as the abuse continued for years after the abortion.17
In Colorado, a civil lawsuit alleged a Planned Parenthood facility failed to inquire about
or report the suspected sexual abuse of a 13-year-old child by her stepfather.18 The abuse began
when she was only six years old.19 When it resulted in the child becoming pregnant at age
thirteen, the abuser took her to Planned Parenthood in Denver.20 An abortion was performed
without her mother’s knowledge or consent, even though parental notice is required by Colorado
law.21 According to the lawsuit, not a single Planned Parenthood employee asked about potential
abuse despite knowing that the child was only 13 years old and that sex abuse was evident.22
After the abortion, the Planned Parenthood facility reportedly sent the child back home where
she continued to be abused by this same predator for months.23 Publicly available court
documents filed in that case reveal that Planned Parenthood has a “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy
Not one major journalist bothered to check the source of this story. The source is a full-time abortion activist, who plays a doctor when she has the time to do so. This will unfold over the next week. But in Ohio there is no report that has been found yet, of a 10 year old being raped. Which means either it happened and went unreported. Or it did not happen. Seems hard to believe no one would have reported a 10 year old getting raped and pregnant.
Follow the thread on this.
Another case of Journocide? That is, death by false stories covered widely by all major media outlets with not a one of them confirming the details and checking their sources.
You might note our POTUS said, "It has been reported...". NOT that here is a true story. That would let me push National Enquirer Space Monkey/Man hybrid headlines as a fact.
Pretty good story but not quite the Immaculate Abortion that the left desires. I have here in my coat pocket the name of a poor girl in Ohio who died after a botched abortion. The girl was under aged and from a good, Christian home. Her parents were evangelicals and she didn't want to disclose her pregnancy to them. The father of the baby was the family pastor, and she became pregnant after he raped her during a MAGA rally. The poor girl didn't know where to turn. She died after DIY abortion with a coat hanger caused massive internal bleeding. Her death was painful and protracted. Her last words were "Why did the Supreme Court overturn Roe vs. Wade and murder a poor, under aged girl like me,". Out of consideration for the family, I do not wish to reveal the girl's name, but that's how it happened.....Wire my Pulitzer Prize money through the Althouse portal. I also prefer to remain anonymous.
I believe there is a very old federal law that would apply to someone, the rapist or someone covering for the rapist, who transported the child across state lines to cover up the crime by abortion.
Years ago, an author, Trevanian, (revealed to be Rodney William Whitaker after his death) wrote several books that had rape in them. His 'Summer of Katya' had an epilogue, added no doubt because the end of the novel left any decent reader ready to go find and ensure at least a few rapist died screaming. In his, 'The Main, the protagonist made the point that while murder stole a live, rape stole a soul. I never forgot that characterization.
Thank you! The serial rapist neighbor next door is finally serving life only because he shouldn't have left the more lenient county downwind -- Hall County, Georgia -- that just kept cutting him loose because he's an illegal, and that's how those soulless court officials roll. But chances are he is responsible for another of his under-12 daughter's full term pregnancy. Same MO.
Unfortunately, I was able to obtain the testimony of his most recent victim on the internet. I say unfortunate because I assumed such horror-show transcripts are concealed to protect the victim, especially a child victim. I wouldn't write about it for her sake, and that conceals reality and warps public opinion. It was sick-making, and I've read a lot of these for work. It was the little things, the child clinging to her younger step-sisters' legs to avoid being pulled out of the bed, always failing. Jesus wept.
But if you can stomach it, you might be able to check the veracity of this story. You could undoubtedly check for charges on Lexis-Nexis, which I did not use in the case above, but is more efficient. I'm sure I can also find charges if they exist.
We need a Guilty Project to protest unjust nolle prosecs. They are millions of times more common than innocent men being jailed, and many of those aren't innocent at all, as is becoming more apparent by the day. As a court clerk told me as she slipped me my assailant's unpunished record of sex assaults as a minor -- and I don't care we were breaking that law -- "You don't end up in a line-up for singing too loud in the choir."
Pro-choice activists have a lot to answer for when it comes to not reporting child-rape. So does Beverly Harvard, Atlanta's first black female Chief of Police, who concealed rapes of little girls working in politically connected strip clubs. Someday, instead of getting honorary degrees, she'll get hers. Ditto the leaders of Planned Parenthood
By the way, for those have chidren, imagine them raped and pregnated. At ten.

I blame Corn Pop. He was a bad dude.
Caitlin Bernard, an Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist, claimed a child abuse doctor referred to her a 10-year-old patient who was pregnant and seeking an abortion
You would normally call the police in this situation, right?
Who drove the fourth grader to the doctor's office?
Why did you not call the police?
Does your abortion clinic normally abort 10-year-old girls?
Oh, my! Althouse links to the Daily Caller. Cue The World Turned Upside Down.
--gpm
Bernard is affiliated and an assistant prfoprof at Indiana University Hospital.
And Planned Parenthood.
Nope, no grift here...
not a one of them confirming the details and checking their sources.
A classic case of a story being "too good to check".
The Abortion Ghost of Kiev/Indiana.
what if the "rapist" was trans-gender juvenile like what happened in VA Loudhon county?
I’m going to agree with most of the commenters that this likely didn’t happen. Getting back to the original post and the issue of abortion used to cover up rape. That is a charge that pro life organizations have made for years. Another concern is that I in state where one of the few exceptions to a ban on abortion is rape and that state requires a police report to be filed. What happens when the woman files a false report in order to obtain an abortion. What happens to the falsely accused man?
Dr. Caitlin Bernard, an Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist, claimed a child abuse doctor referred to her a 10-year-old patient who was pregnant and seeking an abortion a few days past Ohio’s six week limit
1: Dr. Caitlin Bernard should have any and all medical licenses pulled. This, if true, is a total HIPPA violation made for political purposes.
If false, it was an abuse of her position as a medical doctor
2: As prof Althouse pointed out, if she's not lying, then she's working to help cover up the rape of a 10 year old. For that she should go to jail. IIRC, doctors are mandated reporters, so this is yet another crime
3 : The biggest problem with the abortion issue is how it turns its supporters into wretched people.
They claim to be desperately worried about a 10 year old not being able to get an abortion after being raped (multiple times?). But they express absolutely no concern about catching the rapist, and stopping him from raping her, or other little girls
It takes a serious mental disorder to make people so twisted

From the WaPo:
Under Ohio law, a physician, as a mandated reporter under Ohio Revised Code 2151.421, would be required to report any case of known or suspected physical, sexual or emotional abuse or neglect of a child to their local child welfare or law enforcement agency. So Bernard’s colleague would have had to make such a report to law enforcement at the same time he or she contacted Bernard. Presumably then a criminal case would have been opened.
Bernard declined to identify to the Fact Checker her colleague or the city where the child was located. “Thank you for reaching out. I’m sorry, but I don’t have any information to share,” she said in an email.
Dan Tierney, press secretary for Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R), said the governor’s office was unaware of any specific case but he said under the state’s decentralized system, records would be held at a local level. Thus, he said, it would be hard to confirm a report without knowing the local jurisdiction to narrow the search. He added: “The rape of a ten-year-old certainly would be newsworthy.”
As a spot check, we contacted child services agencies in some of Ohio’s most populous cities, including Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton and Toledo. None of the officials we reached were aware of such a case in their areas.
So, what does the WaPo "fact checker say about the story's "Factualness"?
With news reports around the globe and now a presidential imprimatur, however, the story has acquired the status of a “fact” no matter its provenance. If a rapist is ever charged, the fact finally would have more solid grounding.
I guess we should be happy they're making their dishonesty so obvious
Hmmm...but suppose the impregnator was a 10 year old boy. Mutual statutory rape? Interesting question in law?
Nah, toss ‘em both in jail, let God sort ‘em out.
Lilly, a dog said...
Of course the 10-year old isn't real, but Joe Biden could swear he sniffed her hair.

[and pinched her nipples]
if the 10 year old was raped by another Minor, then we may never get specific info about it because it goes into juvie justice.
One person on Twitter claimed she contacted Dr. Bernard to get additional information on this incident. None was forthcoming.
It will now vanish down the memory hole. Because it never happened.
The left HAS to make up lies to push their murderous narrative. PERIOD. Just like they made up the Fedsurrection, the fake Russian Collusion, Jussie Smolletts "modern day lynching" that just HAPPENED to occur when Kamala and Corey Booker had a bill out on Lynching. The left will lie about EVERYTHING. They want power. They don't care about YOU.
The CDC reported that in 2019 there were about 1400 abortions performed on girls under 15 years old and in 2020 1765 births to girls age 10-14. So there are definitely real young girls affected by laws barring abortion.
I would note that many anti-abortion laws punish doctors and others who participate in abortion with penalties more severe than those allotted to rapists.
Section 2151.421 | Reporting child abuse or neglect.
Every medical professional that learned this girl was pregnant is about to lose their medical license. Hahaha, no really. Everyone knows this is a lie and no action will be taken. But folks that get their news from Twitter is now convinced that some 10 year old rape victim is being forced to have a baby.
The Twitter rage factory wins again.

I read those numbers and see that there were 3,165 young girls who were raped.
ems4019 instead sees 1,765 more innocent babies who should have been killed and should now be dead.
Not up to Tawana Brawly standards.
However, this is an eye-opener:

I would note that many anti-abortion laws punish doctors and others who participate in abortion with penalties more severe than those allotted to rapists.

If Dr. Barnard is intelligently devious, the story is true and she is withholding the facts until we all get in an uproar, including right wing news sites and spokesmen, then she springs the trap and brings out the kid, and/or the police report.
What could be more like revealing than Glenn Kessler’s definition of a “ fact”—single source, uncorroborated, repeated by news sources and by a loopy POTUS. Sounds like propaganda to me.
The pro-life movement includes many, many women who were raped and who chose life for the innocent child -- her child too -- whom she was impregnated with.

1: If you give abortions to the raped, without reporting the rapes, you ARE a worse person than the rapist.
Because you are a medical doctor enabling future rapes
2: That's an argument for increasing the punishment for rape. For which the people opposing you will NOT be the "pro-life" side of the aisle

Doesn't work that way.
When you report a problem, you bear the responsibility to make your report convincing, by including all the relevant information that an honest reporter would include.
If you withhold that information for political reasons, you SHOULD be ignored / mocked / pilloried

Seems Dr Bernard has a proclivity for helping to cover up rapes:
Forty-eight consumer complaints have been filed against nine Indiana abortion doctors who have allegedly failed to follow the legal reporting requirements to protect young children from sex abuse. The doctors are: Jeffrey Glazer, Caitlin Bernard, Cassandra Cashman, Carol Dellinger, Mandy Gittler, Kathleen Glover, Martin Haskell, Resad Pasic and Sarah Turner. They are employed at all licensed Indiana abortion facilities: Women’s Med Center in Indianapolis, Clinic for Women in Indianapolis, and Planned Parenthood in Indianapolis, Lafayette, Bloomington and Merrillville. [emphasis mine]
Some of the girls under 16 years old who had abortions that weren’t reported to DCS were as young as 12 and 13. The alleged 48 instances of failure to report occurred since July 1, 2017. The 48 consumer complaints have been filed with Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill and the Indiana State Department of Health. The Marion, Lake, Tippecanoe and Monroe county prosecutors have also been notified.
It's a major failing by the Indiana State AG that she's not already in jail
The story still has a gaping hole in it. I can understand a ten year old not knowing about morning sickness and other signs of pregnancy, but also I understand that Ohio allows abortion in the case of rape, no question asked. Given that the pregnant female is just ten, health of the mother should be a slam dunk, too. Cincinnati has at least three Planned Parenthood clinics — so why did the girl and her family choose to go all the way to Indiana? Were her parents or guardians part of an attempted (and failed, obviously) coverup?
Related question. How big a pervert do you have to be to find a ten year old to be sexually attractive?
