So the Mona Lisa gets drilled with a custard pie tossed by an environmental crackpot. Fortunately bullet proof glass protected the masterpiece. Bullet proof? In France? Why?
Your photos impress me with the idea that nature displays art that is appealing to humans, and probably to non-humans of certain types. Perhaps people who wake early enough to see such things are more ready to search for food and survive, and to pass on their genotypes. So if we like sunrises our foreS/hefather/mothers were those who woke early and were more successful at surviving.

Our sole Gardenia bush, which I thought had been killed by the very wintery winter of 20-21, and which I hacked to about half its former size, started looking alive this spring.
First a few glossy leaves, and then a lot of them, and some new branches. The other day there was one bloom high up, this morning it looked like there would be some more in a few days, but they surprised me--about a dozen or more--and have already bloomed.
I'm not a gardener or botanist, but now that I'm paying attention I'm wondering about the relatedness of Gardenia and Magnolia (of which we have two enormous specimens). Similiar thick glossy leaves, similar white blooms . . .

In my wildest dreams, I can not imagine custard pie "drilling" anything. Neither would a real environmental crackpot waste good food to make a mess in the museum.
But in answer to your question on bulletproof glass - it can stop the penetration of many harmful things, not just projectiles. Think of the bulletproof resin as body armor for windows because it doesn't shatter.
Brent Crude at $120+ a barrel. Right now the Europeans are looking at ways to choke the world's diesel supply, Russia exports a million barrels a day of it, but you can be sure that Americans are sitting around the kitchen table right now heaving a sigh of relief that Joe Biden didn't miss an opportunity to expand NATO. What's good for Raytheon is good for the country!
In real dollars, a barrel of oil is as high as it's been in forty years, but that's a good thing! This war will lead to an energy transformation! But you are not to imagine that there are those in the US leadership cabal who would welcome this war for that reason! Of course the alternatives at the required scale don't exist... details, details.
I watched an episode of Below Zero yesterday, a lady made a fish trap out of chicken wire and threw it randomly into the river, with no bait or anything, and I kept watching because I was really curious if it could actually catch a fish like that, because I couldn't see how it would, but maybe she knew more than me. When she came back and didn't catch any fish, she blamed global warming.
Still, if food ever gets tight around here, I will make one maybe to catch perch. I will make sure to use bait though, or climate change will keep me from catching any fish.
Not to beat a dead equine gadlfy, but if an NBA player hits a 3 point shot from beyond the arc, the announcer could say he "drilled" it. If one puts a whitetail down with one long range shot, one could say he "drilled" it. In both cases a cordless Dewalt drill was not used.
Humperdink, in this instance I think gadfly has the better argument. Both of your examples imply a degree of precision in penetration, not something normally associated with weilding a pie.
I always hate it when ppl bring up spontaneous abortions(miscarriage) and compare it to an intentional abortion. As if to say: it occurs, why aren’t proLife advocates protesting against that?!
How can that jive?
Analogy: A randomly blown out tire- An intentionally slashed tire.

Why bulletproof glass?
Because nobody could foresee an attack with a custard pie. (Though I bet a thorough investigation will show the guy was on the radar for a long time.)

Most important news of the day...
NY Post (Cribbed from the UK Sun):
Woman who is sexually attracted to planes wants to marry toy Boeing
"A woman in love with a plane insists her desire is not a flight of fancy.
Sarah Rodo, 23, even refers to the Boeing 737 as her boyfriend.
She flies on the aircraft as often as possible and has 50 replica models of the plane at home.
Sarah calls the Boeing Dicki and hopes to wed one day, even though it is illegal in Germany.
The Dortmund resident identifies as an Objectum Sexual, meaning that she is sexually attracted to inanimate objects.
She said past romances with men didn’t get her flying high.
She has also been in love with a train..."

@ gadfly Euphemism, it's what's for dinner!
President Soiled Pants to meet with Fed Chairman Powell today. It has been reported that Powell will use flash cards.
Who needs the Mona Lisa?
We have phenomenally photographed sunrises!

He wasn't Scottish, either.

@ Christopher B. You may be correct. However, the pie wielding miscreant did make solid contact with intended target.
