Profoundly sad.

Irina Maniukina plays her piano for the last time. Via my son John at Facebook, "Playing this piano in Ukraine for the last time before fleeing Russia’s war crimes. (The music is Chopin’s 'Aeolian Harp' Étude, Op. 25, # 1.)"

Brings the destruction home to my feelings. It is sad. The Poles held together by through their awful history by clinging to their culture including especially Chopin and his music. Playing his music affirmed that there was a Poland. And now a Ukrainian is playing it for the last time in her home. I'm sure there is defiance there as well as sadness. The same invader with the same crazy violence is coming for her. There's part of me that is slowly turning into Madame Defarge but I really hope I somehow get past that.

War crimes. Is it one of the Geneva Conventions not to start a war?

Hemingway--not one of my faves but when you're right you're right--said that all wars, no matter how justified and how necessary, are crimes.

Wow. Democrats are really leaning into this one aren't they.

Better not disagree with them on anything. If you do you condone Putin blowing up this piano and making this poor woman sad.

Don't ask why Joe Biden did everything he could to start this war.

Don't ask any questions at all.

Just do what The Regime says or you are a traitor.

Democrats are going to get wiped out in any honest election because people can see through this garbage.

Reminds me of "Dangerous Moonlight." Too bad she didn't play the Warsaw Concerto.
