"Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has died at age 50, reportedly from an overdose of some kind...."

"Hawkins was in the band from 1997 until his death — 25 years — and he played on their last 8 albums. I'm particularly sad about this news because I was really getting into his new supergroup, NHC. The H stands for Hawkins. The N stands for Dave Navarro, the legendary Jane's Addiction guitarist. NHC has only a few songs on Spotify, but I've been listening to one of them over and over: 'Lazy Eyes.' It's partly hard rock but partly more experimental. Hawkins does some amazing drumming on the song, and he handles the vocals well as the lead singer. I especially like the part that goes: 'Are we in love? What the hell does that mean anyway, if you start to hate me?' See my comment for the music video. Hawkins also played drums on Alanis Morissette's 18-month world tour for her beloved breakthrough album, 'Jagged Little Pill.' This is a terrible day for rock music."

And the ‘C’ stands for Chris Chaney. Bass players need love, too…

Hey, kids! Don’t use drugs. They can kill you.

Beasts... No shit, Chaney got me!

Hawkins was essential to the Foo Fighter's lighthearted, fun-loving, respect-your-off-beat-musical-influences stage ethos.

I doubt their live shows will ever be quite the same in that respect.

Really sad for his family. RIP

It will be interesting to see if it was an overdose, or if was he poisoned like Tom Petty. No one takes fentanyl recreationally.

He was in Bogota, Colombia for the start if a tour. So let make a guess - pure Colombian flake.

I watched scores, perhaps hundreds, of musician interviews during the virus quiet times, and one of my favorites was Hawkins setting up to do a session at Abbey Road. Clearly an elite drummer, with a joyous smile and personality that were infectious. RIP.

Probably another fentanyl OD. Darwinism at work, along with murder.

oops - answered thank you.

Sad news. Some of these rockers probably still party a little too hard. (is my guess)

I've been enjoying the Foo Fighters' cover of AC/DC "Let There Be Rock." Now that I look that up, I have given a listen to "Back in Black." Great stuff, Taylor always showing his teeth. Covers of the BeeGees? I'm not convinced.

Backing up Alanis. There was a recent story, news to me, that on one of her tours, the boys in the band partied without her. This seems very rude. The night is young, there is fun to be had, but the star who is basically the meal ticket can go back to her room and watch TV. It must sometimes happen that people don't get along--and Alanis used to kind of advertise in her songs that she was crazy--but it sounds very awkward. Was Taylor involved?

Not a fan of the band, but it’s always frustrating when talented, productive people die in this manner. It didn’t have to end this way. RIP.

he must not have had a subscription to the NYTs?

Since we're tossing around our favorite cause of death for rock stars, I'm tossing the Pfizer vaccine into the ring.

Hawkins, 50, was found dead in a hotel room at the Casa Medina in Bogota, Colombia, Friday, where heartbroken fans gathered outside in shock.

What were were saying about artists and addictions?

Very sad. Very very sad.

I remember he said he was the most feminine looking of the FFers so he got the girl part in at least one video. I agree he was a good looking girl, much hotter than Milton Berle.

"Hawkins had complained of chest pains to hotel staff, according to reports."
How would that go?
Housekeeping: Hola. How are ewe?
T: Uh..a bit of chest pain, actually.
Housekeeping: Si. Have a good night.

"According to Paul Kidd, Hawkins was an “anti-vaxxer” who was working to expose Big Pharma. Hawkins believed vaccines cause autism and was determined to spread the word around the world through his platform as the drummer and second-most prominent member of the multi-platinum band Foo Fighters. As far back as 2000, Hawkins and his bandmates were raising funds and awareness for anti-Big Pharma organisation Alive & Well."

Though the band was requiring vax or test at concerts.

Vaccine overdose? That's the speculation- as mentioned in previous comments. Did the vaccine contribute to his death?

At this point, the answer is presumably "yes" until proved otherwise.

Odds are that fentanyl was involved. Chalk up another open borders death. Thanks, Brandon.

Started under Obama. Trump was made aware. Said he spoke to Xi about it, Xi said he'd start cracking down. Didn't. Nothing was done, just talk. In fairness, this goes beyond Biden.

Fentanyl should be classified as a chemical weapon, but maybe that's just me.

There ought to be a maximum age for drug use, as well as a minimum (excluding medicinal use). Fifty is too young to die and too old to be shooting up.

Columbians are saying don't blame our country for what happened to one crazy Yanqui drug user.
