Did the week-long commemoration of January 6th boost Joe Biden's popularity?

No.

Multiple polls have measured opinion post-Jan. 6, and the ratings continue to decline.

Biden is now at parity with Donald Trump, and both poll better than Kamala Harris.

And therefore the ratings continue to decline?

If so, there's hope.

Everyone knows it was an FBI plot by now.

The fences were all down and the doors were wide open by the time most of the people who are in jail got there.

And many of the people in jail for "Assaulting Police" were trying to defend women the police were beating to death.

I am sure that Ted Cruz will get to the bottom of it though.

Given Biden’s performance as President, Jan 6 isn’t a big deal. Jan 6 is the Deflate-Gate of US politics.

Biden could have become a rather popular president if he had governed with an attitude of moderation, civility and reconciliation.

In theory, he still could begin to govern with such an attitude.

In fact, however, his mental decline prevents him from doing so.

Gee, who would have thought that insulting 3/4s of the country (including half the people who voted for you) all the while demonstrating a complete inability to address ongoing issues, would result in decreasing popularity!

Talking, and thinking, about January 6 is likely to remind people that the nation was essentially tricked into thinking that Joe Biden was a normal, centrist Democrat. So obsessing on January 6 reminds people that they were defrauded.

I didn't pay close attention to the Jan. 6 events. I did my best to avoid the news that day. I knew it would provoke me. These days, my opinions make me the equivalent of a domestic terrorist.

But I did see video clips after the fact, and I did read people's observations online, including here in the comments.

I'm biased to begin with, but I think if I was apolitical, and paid attention to the day's commemorations, I would be even more turned off by Biden, Harris, and the Democrats.

Speeches that were filled with delusions of grandeur (Pearl Harbor? 9/11?), a song by the Hamilton cast, a candlelight vigil, hyper-emotional montages from the media - it was all just a nauseating spectacle.

I think the 1/6 protesters were foolish. But the way the anniversary was handled made me hate our leadership class even more.

Strange.

There was Biden's Earpiece, standing "In The Breach" as if he were Audie Murphy reincarnated (interesting note: Biden's Earpiece now claims he was a boyhood friend of Murphys and actually saved Murphy's life 2 times while fighting in France during WW2, you can ask CornPop if you don't believe him!), protecting the nation from the murderous onslaught of tens of thousands of blood-crazed heavily armed (with machine guns, bazookas, tanks, a couple F-15's and a canoe that comfortably seats 4) wild-eyed Trump-inspired killers massacring hundreds of thousands of innocents (AOC herself was murdered no less than 37 times according to her publicist who reported that "fact" from her Florida vacation home) and yet, YET(!), Biden's Earpiece gets NO CREDIT at all for that?

Well.

I guess Real Heroes just aren't recognized properly anymore in this Age of Trump.

This past week wasn't a popularity exercise. It was battlespace preparation for rescinding the Senate filibuster rule, passing the federal election law, and insuring a Democrat controlled federal government in perpetuity. This goes along with the months of National Guard presence and fences around the White House. That wasn't about security, it was about establishing a narrative of insurrection. Well, they're done wagging the dog's tail. Now they're gonna go nuclear in the Senate.

When every eligible voter's vote can be counted - or not - under the absolute control of one party apparatus, whether that voter voted or not, it isn't vote fraud, it is plain old corruption. In this case, as codified into law. When the DOJ, FBI, CIA, IRS, EPA, and other feds are all weaponized against half the population, because of the "insurrection" as celebrated last week, it goes beyond corruption to tyrrany. That is what the Jan 6 commemoration was about - preparing for absolute corruption and tyrrany at the federal level.

"Commemorating" January 6 is blatantly political and reasonable people can see through it no matter their opinion on mobs. The unreasonable people are already included in the small minority of people still supporting Biden.

The Biden administration withheld data for several months on the breakdown of nationalities illegally entering the USA across the southern border… which include a large number of people from various Middle Eastern countries. They don’t give a fuck who is illegally entering this country… what a change in the post-9/11 security stance.

America - as we know it - is unsustainable under moronic Democrat Party governance.

So what does the latest Quinnipiac polling say?

Fifty percent say the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021 was an attack on democracy that should never be forgotten, while 44 percent say too much is being made of the storming of the U.S. Capitol and it’s time to move on. That compares to a Quinnipiac University Poll on August 4, 2021 when 57 percent said it should never be forgotten and 38 percent said it was time to move on.

That looks like support for the neverending witch hunt is dribbling away.

Democrats support the investigation 83 – 15 percent, independents support it 65 – 30 percent, while Republicans oppose it 60 – 36 percent.

That the independents continue to support the investigation by more than 2:1 is concerning. Republicans need to monitor that, and strategize how to get it down.

Indeed. It was a Made For TV Special starring all the Usual Suspects and designed to roll out the democraticals 2022 Election Narrative Strategy.

Despite Fang Fang directing Eric Swalwell to deny that publicly.

Yeah, except there is nothing in his prior history to even suggest that he has been anything but what we see today. His bullying, lying, and absurd boastfulness had been excused as Joe just being Joe. His mental decline, while real, has nothing to do with it. The amazing thing was that with his track record he could be sold as something else during the campaign.

The purpose of the Jan 6 memorial was to kick off the Dems' "all-insurrection, all-the-time" campaign for 2022. I still think that we're going to see FBI investigations and arrests of conservative groups and candidates, even those with no ties to Jan 6.

Snarling nasty and prevaricating is not a good look for Joe---but he has to go with what he's got.

It's all in service of a narrative which will lead to properly run elections where the incumbent Democrat will inevitably be re-elected with 97% of the vote.

WHICH is why Nancy refuses to release ALL the tapes of that day. They cherry picked the ones to make American citizens look guilty....

Characterizing Jan 6th as a violent insurrection is a tactic to keep Americans from protesting about Biden's policies. BLM mobs burned down cities all summer, (harming mostly poor people of color) and Democrats have a long history of attempting to storm the capitol, even breaking through barriers at the white House after Trump was elected, they burned cars and injured police. However, they got paid for it.
https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/05/rioters-at-trumps-2017-inauguration-getting-1-6-million-settlement-from-dc-over-their-arrests/

I'm willing to bet 90% of the people protesting owned firearms, and 50% owned multiple firearms. If they wanted to stage a bloody insurrection they would have brought weapons. The Democrats are using this to intimidate protest against their authoritarian policies. The protesters are political prisoners. This is very dangerous and the left should be worried about it too.

Which is why this whole 1/6/21 insurrection lie is such a joke. I hope when the dust settle, and we someday get to see the tapes, we can make Nancy and all the other liars pay for defaming, wrong imprisonment, and whatever else we can get to stick. These lying politicians deserve our scorn....the enemy is within.

I am convinced he could improve his popularity by firing Fauci, dropping tax cuts for wealthy Democrats, I mean build back better, and giving a conciliatory speech on J6. But Joe isn't president in fact, by that I mean these are not his decisions, so he can't do it, but the Joe Biden, admittedly imaginary, that a lot of people voted for, moderate Joe from Scranton would have done these things.

They are being forced to pretend harder than ever.

Ted Cruz hates the people that voted for him. He made that clear when he called the J6 protestors terrorists.

He got a shocking amount of backlash. The republicans in DC got a glimpse of how angry we really are.

Now he is all about kabuki questions to the FBI.

But nothing will happen just like the Durham "Investigation."

They are throwing out some low level indictments every now and then. They know how angry we are about the Deep State Coup.

But the only purpose of the Republican Party in DC is to keep the Regime in power.

People talk about politicians being psychopaths or sociopaths. Maybe some are, but politicians are always distinguishing inside behavior from outside behavior. You can be lovely and sweet with your colleagues inside the Capitol, and yet savage them when you're on the campaign trail, and to observers than can look like a mental illness. I think that's what's up with Biden -- assuming he has any control or any role in what's going on now. He's friendly Joe, or he tries to be friendly Joe, with people he agrees with or wants to win over and with his fellow politicians, but he's not going to hesitate to go on the attack in his public appearances. Whoever's controlling him recognizes that inside Biden likes playing loveable goofy "middle class Joe from Scranton" while outside Biden relishes partisan attacks. Joe would have been "moderate" if he had to be, but I don't think "civility and restraint" really characterize outside Biden.

I doubt Biden has the means to make the personnel changes necessary to re-cast his administration as "moderate." If he were sufficiently in control, and had people around him who were loyal to HIM and committed to HIS success as president, then maybe he could pivot in that way. But the whole party is in the clutches of radical leftists and I imagine that most of the senior administrative and WH positions are occupied by parasitic individuals who are there for reasons of their own advancement and that of the extreme left agenda. Even assuming he had the mental wherewithal, Biden couldn't just roll in some Monday morning, declare that he was now going to govern as a centrist, and expect any cooperation from the people around him. Half of the staff would probably be on the phone with the Squad within minutes, plotting ways to sabotage the effort.

The most important thing is to avoid any examination of the evidence, or you might end up red-pilled like Glenn Greenwald, and then you will be banished from your cult, which is almost a fate worse than death. Stick to MSNBC and CNN, and never let go of you faith in their reporting on RussiaGate! If you express any doubt... well, let me put it this way, those tax cuts to wealthy blue staters that makes up thee largest cost in BBB only come to the most sincere pumpkin patches.

History is full of agent provocateurs manipulating public opinion though false flag operations, and US history is full of incidents where the FBI creates crimes by their political opponents, look at how they worked so hard to get Billie Holiday to stop singing "Strange Fruit" for a case study. Why this seems so unbelievably unlikely is beyond me, but then I wasn't shocked to find out that Fauci surpassed our knowledge that COVID came from a lab leak at Wuhan for political reasons.

Since the republicans refuse to shoot up DC, then the democraticals faux "Patriot Front" groups will do it instead and this time they'll do it "right".

No, they can't

The Democrat ideas suck. They want higher gas prices, more illegal aliens in the US competing "low skilled" / physical workers out of jobs, cheep important putting more Americans out of work, and permanent racism (CRT)

None of the people controlling the Biden* Admin can, or will, vary from those goals.

They were always guaranteed to be unpopular. Thus the push for insecure elections

Rollo said...

The longer Biden is in the spotlight, the more likely it is that he'll insult people, or threaten to beat them up, or make up stuff about himself.

But last week, the spotlight wasn't on Biden. Wall-to-wall 1/6 may or may not make people less favorable to Trump, but the coverage isn't going to make anybody say "Thank God for Joe Biden" who wasn't saying it before (or isn't always saying it).

I don't know who's watching, or if anybody's watching, but for some viewers the takeaway may be "Next time, Trump has to win by an even wider margin."
