So Joe just had a physical.

Why is nobody in the media asking about whether or not he had a cognitive test?

And if so, what were the results?

And if not, why not?

Probably not as bad as first reports, but still...

Waukesha.

The Nordstrom's in Walnut Creek.

Tell me when the coincidences end???

I’m watching “Yellowstone” starring Kevin Costner. Exceptional.

I’m a great admirer of the screenwriters of this show. It is almost as good as my “Frankenstein, Part II.”

SUV plows through crowd at Waukesha Christmas parade.

"WAUKESHA - A treasured rite of the holiday season turned into a scene of mayhem late Sunday afternoon as a vehicle plowed into the Waukesha Christmas Parade, leaving more than 20 people injured and shaking the community, authorities said."

What’s the matter with Wisconsin?

Quaestor said...

Not much info at all from the Waukesha city officials. There were fatalities and one "person of interest" is in custody. They are no longer looking for the SUV. (Did the WPD find it abandoned?) They had a truly obnoxious Karen-type spokes-critter with one of those horrendously nasal voices that cause your teeth to ache by just hearing it. The "news conference" started with the mayor making a prolonged "I am grieving" speech that sounded perfectly dreadful and with perfectly CYA boilerplate for content. Waukesha needs a city government that doesn't come off as confused and helpless in a crisis.

This is probably the first time a municipal holiday parade has been described as a rite with a straight face. Jean Shepherd could do it, inflating the trivial into the monumental was his stock in trade, and he was its acknowledged master. A staff writer for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel cannot without sounding fatuous.

There is a large community of people in this country who are like savage animals, but worse. I'm so sick of it.

Guess we all saw that, eh? :0(

Yellowstone: my husband’s fave. I walked out quite a few times. It’s unadulterated and disturbing, but fun- funny and endearing, as well.
We bought the 1st 3seasons- waiting for the 4th-

I don't think the problem is so much Wisconsin as it is Milwaukee, which has one of the highest violent crime rates in the country. This is a distinction it shares with cities like Detroit, St. Louis, Memphis, and Baltimore. These cities also share the distinction of being majority or plurality black.

I'm into it now after watching a few episodes of the last season with my SO. I have a theory about the resurgence of westerns and that it bodes well for our future, but I'll have to wait and see about that.

'The Nordstrom's in Walnut Creek.'

I've shopped there many times...

The odd thing is, there's no quick way to get to the freeway.

The Nordstrom at the Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton would have been an easier place to find a quick onramp.

Yeah, FJB.....

but I'm studying music again.......yes, I'm still married. No plans to change that.

I'm working on "Helplessly Hoping"......the lyrics blow my socks off. I'm pretty sure that's Graham Nash.

My 95-year-old mother has passed. She passed away at home, and in her own bed. It was what she requested.

She paid for home-heath caregivers. The caregivers were some really wonderful East African women. They managed her every whim. I thanked them at every opportunity.

I was Sister Morphine.

Looks like a Portland sunrise. Woke up to heavy fog this morning. It's not always like this but can be through fall winter months. Makes it hard to get out of bed sometimes, especially in December. That's the worst.

and another thing that kind of doesn't make sense. the jan6 unarmed protester, shot and killed by DC police, never received any of the sympathy heaped upon the out of towners killed by Rittenhouse, not even a little bit. Why is that? Is it because the DC cop had a badge and Rittenhouse didn't? That would be inconsistent with antipolice sentiments expressed by out of towners that went to burn down, I mean, protesters that went to protest in Kenosha.

I hadn't given the Rittenhouse case much thought because I didn't really know much about it, except for what was in the MSM. You know, armed state line crosser, vigilante. Makes me wonder what else am I ignorant about the death of that jan6 protester in DC. She too crossed state lines... unarmed. But she gets no sympathy. Not even a little bit.

Kyle Rittenhouse has an alibi. He was spotted sitting at Smokin’ Jerry’s Tiki Hut Bar & Grill on Gasparilla Road in Charlotte County, south of the coastal community of Englewood in Southwest Florida, with at least six other patrons. I suppose that it is a wild coincidence that Michael Flynn lives in Englewood.

Age group 10-59.... A ten year old is very different than a 59 year old, especially in terms of mortality, a fifty-nine year old is far more likely to be vaccinated due to the increased risk than a ten year old.

Wikipedia on Simpson's paradox, hint, it's not really a 'paradox,' it's a fallacy when used rhetorically, or a mistake when tripped up by it innocently, that looks like a paradox to people who are unsophisticated about statistics; it's a great way to lie with statistics to the latter group.

Simpson's paradox, which also goes by several other names, is a phenomenon in probability and statistics in which a trend appears in several groups of data but disappears or reverses when the groups are combined. This result is often encountered in social-science and medical-science statistics,[1][2][3] and is particularly problematic when frequency data is unduly given causal interpretations.

"Groups are combined...[thought echo effect]" "ten to fifty-nine...nine...ine..."

Hmmm.

This is an own goal by the UK government for putting out those statistics in that manner, however. They should have put them out in a more detailed form, with the ages properly binned.

If the people of Wisconsin had Scott Walker sitting in the Governor's mansion, none of this would have happened. Not Kenosha, not Waukesha, none of it.

Oh great.... FBI called in for Waukesha case. Now we will never find out the truth.

But the more you think about it, the less funny it is. Biden's personal goon squad, the FBI, which does extensive raids on a political enemies, once over a purloined diary that, like Hunter Biden's laptop, contains references to the Biden's love in "intramural sports" I will call them out of respect for the blog. The same jack-booted thugs who seized privileged legal conversations and leaked them to their target's adversaries to be published are going to get to the bottom of this one.

It's amazing that we live in a country where one party has a police agency with police powers to use agains the other party, parallels to this situation will almost inevitably invoke Godwin's law, but these are the same kinds of tactics that Botha's party used in South Africa to seize power and to impose Apartheid.

I didn't und to want to believe this stuff about my country.

SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) — Two onetime outsiders hailing from opposite extremes of the political spectrum received the most votes Sunday in Chile’s presidential election but failed to garner enough support for an outright win, setting up a polarizing runoff in the region’s most advanced economy.

It does sound more sophisticated and knowledgeable and respectable than plain "get."

I dunno. I was across the street watching on the neighbors color TV. Neil Armstrong was NOT in color. I'm sure Joe Biden thinks otherwise.

At five years of age, she spent a year in quarantine due to Scarlet Fever. She was not supposed to live.

Her father was an engineer for Seattle City Light, and they lived on a small farm just off Roxbury in West Seattle (OK....White Center). They lost money during the depression, but they could always eat. That farm is where I learned to shoot......and drive a car.

She watched two older brothers go to war. They both came home as Navy Captains. The younger brother went on to become an Admiral, and command of the Bremerton ship yards. The elder just died last November at 104 years of age.

She went to the University of Washington, and majored in Pharmacy. She found a pharmacist husband, and they ran a drug store on University Way for 20 years. Later, she worked at the Bon Marche at 3rd & Pine, and when grandkids arrived.......she had a new career.

Thanks to all. Not to worry, I have a tremendous support system around me.

Stephen Stills??......WOW! I didn't look it up because it sounded so much like The Hollies, and I assumed.......
