Side comment on sunrise photos. The last in the series was my favorite due to the framing. Had the couple not been in the first photo with the bass boat, I would have preferred that one. I was in that industry (recreational fishing) for 13 years in college and post college and it brought back memories of the hundreds of sunrises I witnessed on the water and the Zen mindset that comes after the noise of the motor and wave disturbance abated and I settled into the rhythm of casting for that first bite from the little green devils I was pursuing, which would have been largemouth bass in Texas.

Also paying attention to the way the clouds seem to part for the Sun (last photo). There is a term for it and I’ll have to go look it up. Like the reverse of the ice crystal halo on the Moon, as the Sun starts to burn the the horizon moisture. It’s apparent in most of your mostly clear sunrise shots but it just registered with me today. Nice captures once again!

Thanks.

I have a constrained window, especially with all the foliage now, and, of course, I never ask people to move. So the framing choices are limited. And the subject is always the sun. I find it interesting to try to make the photos different, even after doing more than 500 sunrises from the same vantage point!
