"And you can understand why [Tim] Cook was surprised to learn that his company was making a show about Gawker."

"The site represented a particular irritant to Apple. The most famous incident came in 2010, when Gizmodo got its hands on a prototype of the iPhone 4. Steve Jobs pleaded to get it back, police close to the company raided an editor’s house, and Gawker reveled in the chaos. But Mr. Cook also has a personal grievance with the site, which in 2008 responded to a glowing article about the low-profile executive by floating the rumor that he was gay. (Other coverage had used euphemistic expressions like 'intensely private' lifelong bachelor.) When Apple named Mr. Cook to lead the company in 2011, it made no mention of his sexual orientation, but Gawker’s Ryan Tate introduced him as 'The Most Powerful Gay Man in America.' Mr. Cook later wrote proudly of his identity, and said he’d long been open with people in his personal life. But Mr. Tate said he thought frequently about the story afterward, and even wondered whether Mr. Cook’s parents had known about his identity before the report."

IPhones are made with slave labor.

Tim Cook is a creep.

Actually slave labor is too kind. It is being made with death camp labor.

And Apple is lobbying against a law that makes importing products of slave labor illegal.

So is most of our corporate elite.

What do you think they have in mind in the US?

The Gawker sites (there are many) are all garbage SJW grievance factories.

24/7 leftist propaganda mixed with nonstop whining.

Peter Thiel, another famous tech gay, funded the lawsuit that brought much of Gawker down after they released a sex tape of Hulk Hogan.

It was glorious.

Now the remaining sites are nothing but clickbait and lots of 'slide shows' in an effort to pump up the 'pages visited' numbers.

In all of Gawker media, I don't think there is a collective IQ of more than 100.

Big tech companies now exert huge influence over what stories get told. The message is clear: Be careful who you offend" (NYT).

So you're saying that big tech story suppression is real? Thanks a bunch, NYT. I'll keep that in mind.

The message is clear: Be careful who you offend(NYT).

More projection. The NYT has already set those markers, in service of the Deep State establishment.

Tim Cook was accidently "outed" by Simon Hobbs, co-anchor on a live CNBC broadcast. The other talking heads stopped talking - very awkward.

Apple's streaming service is for those who find that CBS, NBC, and ABC are not left-wing enough. I didn't realize there was still room on the left end of the entertainment spectrum until I sampled Apple's offering.

Don't mind if I don't.

Has that ever not been the case? And lots of people are careful not to offend the Times lest they find themselves doxxed or canceled or both.

Hahahahhahaaha! Oh really?
Getting your story told is a life that liberals get to live in. I mean, maybe Gawker won't. But have you turned on HBO? It is the place where all lefties get to live through lefty stories being told. Gore's heroic attempts to win the election that Florida tried to steal from him. Mueller's wonderful investigation in the face of Russian election interference. The wisdom of Obama's communication and foreign policy teams. Michael Brown yelling "hands up don't shoot".

So cry me a river that Tim Cook didn't want to produce a story about Gawker.

There is currently on either HBO or Netflix a show that I've no idea what it is about, but the picture on the thumbnail is Nancy and Ronald Reagan with *#$! over his forehead and her mouth. So I'm guessing, again, it isn't their story being told.

Exactly. Layers and layers of editors and fact checkers and that's what they come up with?

But all of the woke shit infects EVERYTHING.

As I've stated before, Japlopnik can't do a Porsche review without the comments degenerating into 'Fuck Trump' at some point.

And the Roots and Jezebel sites are the biggest steaming piles of racist/lesbian empowerment garbage you will ever read...

Too bad because the car site used to be decent.

Take a hint, they are called Gawker FFS.

The only people you're allowed to offend are Republicans, not not members of the liberal ruling class.

Know your place, peasant!

(PS: Gawker always sucked.)

Tim Cook has a board, and is a hired gun exec. Peter Thiel convenes boards, sits on them and owns a piece of his companies, often a large one. He's the most powerful gay in CA, and nobody knows that better than Gawker.

Joe Smith said...

Either way, I don't think Cook is crying in his designer beer as he counts his $1B+.

But Apple makes great products and services and he deserves what he gets.

holdfast said...

Remember, Gawker also outed Thiel.

It’s funny how folks on the left are so into gay rights, except for the right to privacy.

Every soulless piece of human garbage who's ever worked for Gawker media should be turned out and made to give nickel bjs under the el tracks in Philadelphia for a living.
