"Bidens is a genus of flowering plants in the aster family, Asteraceae. The common names beggarticks, black jack..."

"... burr marigolds, cobbler's pegs, Spanish needles, stickseeds, tickseeds and tickseed sunflowers refer to the fruits of the plants, most of which are bristly and barbed, with two sharp pappi at the end. The generic name refers to the same character; Bidens comes from the Latin bis ('two') and dens ('tooth').... The plants are zoochorous; their seeds will stick to clothing, fur or feathers, and be carried to new habitat. This has enabled them to colonize a wide range...."

Biden's becoming more plant-like with each passing day.

And Democrats are becoming more Zombie-like.

So, are we saying a biden is a type of prick?

And thanks for the help with the metaphor!

You are telling us to stick it.

We used to call them all "come-alongs." If too many got in your hair, it matted and had to be cut off in places, leaving an unsightly bristle. Then your hair had to be evened and cut to match and hide. Then, taunting from friend and foe on the playground. Lesson: Look where you're going; keep bidens out of your hair.

Achilles, Biden is not an invalid. He's an instance of a type of flowering plant, badly withered.

Anything that stuck to our socks when out in the woods we just called 'hitchhikers.'

Say what you will, Mr. Biden does have magnificent teeth. I doubt that they are dentures, but I do remember hearing him at an early debate sounding like Sylvester the cat.

At first I thought it said “Biden is a genius”. I wondered if Althouse was being sarcastic, or perhaps had gone off her rocker.

Neither am I. Bad karma. But exceptions can be made.

I took a rather ambitious hike on Tuesday in the now-parched Sierra foothills, and I spent the rest of the week removing pesky bidens from my clothing and shoes.

We called these specific things “hitchhikers” but a burdock is a burdock.

Joe Biden's recent style of speaking is also a "zoo-chorus"; his thoughts ring cacaphonous and unfocused, like the sounds one hears while trundling through a zoo.
