Justice Gorsuch on "Fox and Friends."

I'm putting that up before watching, and I presume the entire thing will be on a high level of general principle. I think he has a book to promote. I will watch and update this post if there's anything to point out. I noticed this because I saw "Neil Gorsuch" trending on Twitter, where I see comments like:
Justice Neil Gorsuch is on "Fox & Friends" right now. The Q: How is it appropriate for a Supreme Court justice to try to goose sales of his three-month-old book by chatting on one of the most partisan shows on TV?
That's from Brian Stelter.

And:
Everytime Neil Gorsuch trends remember Merrick Garland. Everyime Brett Kavanaugh trends remember Dr. Christine Ford. The Supreme Court is tainted and compromised. Let's hope Justice Roberts puts the integrity of the judiciary over party and ideology but...don't hold your breath.
From Wajahat "Abu Khadija" Ali.

ADDED: Oh! My embedded clip did not play the whole interview. I'll see if I can find it somewhere.

AND: Here's the article at Fox News with some transcript:
"Well, one thing I wanted to talk about in the book...is the importance of the separation of powers and how it keeps us free. And, when it comes to the role of the judiciary, I believe that the role is to be faithful to the original meaning of the constitution.... [Originalism is] kind of a misleading name... Our folks who disagree call themselves living constitutionalists. Well, who wants a dead Constitution? I don't. I want an enduring Constitution and the idea of originalism is just simply that judges should follow the original meaning of the words on the page. And, neither add things that aren't there nor take away things that are there. And, I worry that both of those things happen when we depart from the original meaning of the Constitution..."...
"Well, I think one thing [James Madison] might tell us is to pay attention to the separation of powers... And, the truth is that our rights, including the separation of powers, are only as good as the people who want to keep them there."...

"And, my duty as a judge, when I put on that robe, is to put aside my personal preferences and to faithfully discharge my duty which is to uphold those laws to apply them neutrally... They say that the robe is supposed to change a person when they take the bench and I believe it does."

We do. It's useful to remember the nastiness of progs, the gullibility of pro-abortion "moderates," and the importance of Trump. Thanks, Donald! Thanks, Mitch!

"15 minutes of Fame"

This vexes me no end. Where and what is Ford doing now? Does anyone else think about this? What are the consequences for her slander? What does her family think? Where is the investigative journalism cataloguing what life is like after you decide to attack a person you haven't seen in 30+ years?

This dude brings it up - that we should remember her in relation to Kavanaugh - so why aren't GOP folks or Trump or anyone doing the oppo research to find out how she's living right now?

I want to remember (even though I won't forget). I want to recall her and find out how she's doing. Am I alone? Doesn't anyone else want to remember?

It would be nice to see and realize what the precedent should be when 'literally who's' magically appear to throw accusations during politics as usual. Is it politics as usual? Just a tut tut there this had to happen?

(p.s. if you can't tell I would sincerely like to see if her life was ruined or not. I'm not biased either way, just curious.)

Blasey Ford has no credibility.

Didn't RBG have a book she was promoting recently?

It's Ok when they do it.

Justice Breyer hocking his book on Colbert(D) in 2015.

Blasey Ford got a million bucks from a leftist GoFundMe operation and recently got an award from some leftist group. She's doing fine. Probably flying to surfing vacations in the south Pacific.

If RBG has a new book, it has to be Ghost Written.

Who once had a media analyst evaluate his show, on the air, and the verdict was "ridiculous".

We need better standards.

The short clip suggests Gorsuch is not an activist judge seeking to find words and meaning that's not written in the law at all.

@Michael K

If so, I can't think of better information to put in a commercial next year. I think people should 'remember her'. I think reminding them that RBG will likely not be around for another 4-5 years is important, and to also help them remember what the democrats did to Kavanaugh, and also remind them of her 'performance'.

It's not always bad to pick at scabs especially when they itch so much.

It's not natural or healthy to forever rejoin the crazy s**t that people spew. You can't do it while staying normal yourself. Eventually, you have to give up and just separate from them.

Just got the Audible version of A Republic, If You Can Keep It. Gorsuch narrates his book himself. And his voice is 100% American Male. Stay tuned for more.

1) Gorsuch has nothing to do directly with Merrick.
2) Ford was a liar that no one dared to call a liar.
3) "one of the most partisan shows on TV?" says the guy who works for THE most partisan network on TV. Zucker has made it clear that CNN is a partisan organization.

They should have done better than HRC. That’s a problem they don’t seem to have recognized and are looking to repeat.

Damn good book. Gorsuch is a very good writer, at least to an old lawyer.

Two things that I have never quite understood: Brian Stelter and pet rocks.

Dave Begley said...

Yes, we should think about CBF and wonder why she hasn't been indicted for perjury.

Anita Hill never paid a price for her lying. CBF hasn't paid a price for her lying. The so-called whistle blower hasn't paid a price for his stunt and coup attempt. Comey, McCabe, Strozk, Brennan and Clapper didn't pay a price. Hillary almost got elected president despite her criminal activity.

Until these people pay a serious price, this shit continues. This is why Trump needs a real trial in the Senate.

Barr better have lots of indictments in 2020.

Blasey Ford vocal fried Kavanaugh's ass!

Lucid-Ideas said...

I have been with some women who I'm pretty sure - though they would never say so - basically feel that lying is morally and ethically acceptable if it justifies the ends. Just look at the whole Tennessee Morgan Hood/Brian Mauer thing that just happened recently. It is so absolutely critical to some of them and their self-esteem that their message gets out first. Other women must applaud. And the world owes them a way to fight back against things not turning out their way.

CBF deserves that money because I deserve that money. CBF deserves to lie because I deserve to lie. Sisterhood uber alles.

What I came to write. They churn out books with the best em. Only when conservatives do it is it bad. Where's the bipartisan outrage over RBG commenting on Trump?

Gorsuch fits in perfectly with Trump's America First Nationalism that honors our Nation's traditions. And meanwhile across the pond,Boris Johnson just ordered his cabinet Ministers NOT to attend Davos where the Globalists play. And in Rome the Red Pope just ordered that priest's sexual crimes no longer be kept a secret by the Roman church.

The times they are a changing.

Everyime Brett Kavanaugh trends remember Dr. Christine Ford.

Dr. Christine Ford's testimony contradicted a) the testimony every available witness, b) all the available contemporary documentation, and c) the only documentation of her pre-nomination account of the incident.

The generous interpretation is that 1) somebody did mess with Ford, probably after Kavanaugh had left for Yale rather than in 1982; 2) reading Mike Judge's books caused her to accidentally conflate details from them with her faded memories; and 3) subconsciously motivated by partisan opposition to conservatives, she honestly but mistakenly concluded she remembered Kavanaugh assaulting her.

The less-generous one is that her motivation was a lot less subconscious. The fact that she lied about so much else (like a supposed fear of flying) inclines me to reduced generosity.

Another face plant by Stelter. Not only did he miss TV appearances by Breyer and Sotomayor promoting their own books, but he also managed to miss Gorsuch promoting his on CNN several weeks ago. But why should he be expected to watch his own network? Other than captives at airport terminals and supermarket check-out lines, no one else does either.

What happened to Garland was neither unique nor even unusual. Out of 48 failed Supreme Court nominations, 12 were because the Senate did not act.
