Please let her win the primary

Somebody made a comic bit of editing himself into historical photos.

Girl's got and edge to her and it's sharp. She has the potential to make this interesting.

Perfect way to expose how ridiculous the photo shoot was.

Little Women.

Klonuchar: Where are we going for dinner?

Harris: I’d love a salad. Maybe Kirsten knows a good place?

Warren: Are you kidding? She can’t make up her mind on gun control.

Gillibrand: How about Indian food? Elizabeth, do you know a good place for Indian?

(Group breaks into laughter)

To paraphrase Larry the Cable Guy, "I don't care who you are, that there is funny."

When these Dem clowns smile, they have to be thinking of ways to make poverty great again.

That’s my girl!

Maryanne's mere presence is poison to the best tales and images of the propaganda creators. Her authenticity seems so easy for her it exposes the practiced fakery of the others.

Pretending she is not there is gentle war. The best part is coming when the Pros running the Media's terminal Smear Machinery start cranking out tales exposing her evil defects they create so well from speculation and "sources."

rhhardin said...

The pic would work better as being serious if it had a man in it.

Mr. O. Possum said...

GENIUS. She knows how to hack the media. Hope her polling skyrockets.

Big Sister is watching.

Karen of Texas said...

Also, where's Tulsi?

David Begley said...

She’s very authentic. Not a Fake Indian. Not a Jekyl-Hyde. Not a flip flopper. Not Willie Brown’s former girlfriend.

NotWhoIUsedtoBe said...

They're competing against each other. Why do they have to pretend otherwise?

Marianne is the only one in the picture on the Hot/Crazy Matrix.

She should be Trump's Vice President.

I am Laslo.

OK. That's funny

It’s my turn! No it’s my turn! No way, it’s my turn you bitch!

Jaq said...

Any one of thies people except possibly her will do fine as a figurehead for the deep state. Bernie is the only one I think who might be his own man. None of the others have seen enough, and Biden is past his sell by date.

Birches said...

Amy and Tulsi aren't in this frame, but they are in the picture Karen of Texas.

Birches said...

Nevermind, Tulsi is there. Only Klobachar was cut off.

Elizabeth Warren is manspreading. Gotta take Comet and Clorox to my eyeballs with a Brillo pad

Henry said...

That's hilarious. With the decor and Marianne's prom-queen photograph on the wall It's like all the other candidates are at her wake.

And having a really good, slightly awkward time.

Jaq said...

I wonder if that’s the posture that Warren’s great granddaddy took when he was about to kill an Indian for not marching sprightly enough on the Trail of Tears?

Jaq said...

To be fair, we also had a family story about Indian ancestry, and a look through our actual family history showed two revolutionary soldiers who were veterans of the Sullivan Campaign, a Sherman like mission to exterpate the Iroquois from Upstate New York. So I can relate, but it never would have occured to me to put that down on a college application.

traditionalguy said...

Dum te dum, dum. The missing stealth candidate is lurking as the Media Kings clear the field by cutting Biden down and reminding us that Kamala is an educated Indian Hindu mixed with Jamaican Plantation owner blood. Who could it be?

It's Michael!

Quaestor said...

You'd think real candidates seeking real votes from real middle-class real citizens would avoid a photo shoot for such a frivolous publication as Vogue.

But since when have the Democrats had an interest in middle-class citizens for something other than revenue?

DavidUW said...

She’s 66! Props to her. She’s got it.

traditionalguy said...

NB: Trump's attack tweets are now aimed at the bad Administration that Biden was apart of. But Hussein cannot run? So he is warming us up for Michael.

Ann Althouse said...

"Amy and Tulsi aren't in this frame, but they are in the picture."

Wow, Tulsi is hard to see. Even when she's in the picture, you can't find her.

As for Amy... I read that, and I was thinking "Amy? Who's Amy?" It took me a while.

narciso said...

Sybill the soothsayer really?

Ann Althouse said...

And now I'm wondering is that Tulsi.

Marianne says we have Iranian-style elections with no real choices. No doubt this includes her 20+ competitors. Gotta keep her going...

Fauxcahontas looks like the kindly grandmother in this picture, drawing people in with friendliness and magnanimity, only to later go into her hectoring moralizer tomahawk mode. She doesn’t stand anymore chance than Hillary did. No one wants to listen to that schtick for years.

And Biden cones out yesterday claiming he has devastating oppo research on all his competitors, which he says he’s not going to use for the good of the party. Riiiiiiiight.

Henry said...

I'm thinking that it was the Williamson photoshop team that cropped Klobuchar, but Klobuchar was kind of awkwardly staring into the air in the original photo.

chuck said...

Run, run, it's the view. These days Democratic politics is Hollywood with better looking players.

Ignatius Acton Chesterton OCD said...

It’s Tulsi. She’s the only attractive one, so she stands out. The hens wanted her to blend off to the side, putting he on their right. After all, Tulsi had the wrong beliefs on a number of issues ‘til she realized she had to be a good lil Democrat girl.

Ignatius Acton Chesterton OCD said...

Althouse: “As for Amy... I read that, and I was thinking "Amy? Who's Amy?" It took me a while“

That’s how it feels for most of us with 75% of this Democrat field.

Maybe Dennis Kucinich will run again, if only to help narrow the field. All we have is hope.

narciso said...

That's ridiculous if anyone belongs in vogue, it would be tulsi, they dont know their audience.

Ignatius Acton Chesterton OCD said...

Maybe they’ll do that thing the Beatles did and take this same picture in the same room with the same arrangement 10 years from now to show how they’ve matured as human beings. Then again, maybe not.

Vogue has made a thing out of "group shots of women." I can see the reason for it, but the group shot always comes with the subtext that everyone is swappable. It's just another kind of objectifying.

Also, how does Vogue get a pass on objectifying women in the traditional your-job-is-to-be-looked-at sense?

Annie Leibovitz is a brilliant photographer and these women are her props.

* * *

Here's a cute bit of caption writing, for the photograph that accompanies the article itself:

The female lawmakers running for president. From far left: Senator Amy Klobuchar, Representative Tulsi Gabbard, and Senators Kirsten Gillibrand, Elizabeth Warren, and Kamala Harris.

Note the word "lawmakers".

Williamson gets elided invisibly.

Henry said...

So much weirdness. In the shot inside the article Gillibrand is still sitting and all the other women are standing. It gives her an FDR vibe.

JAORE said...

Smart and effective.

To be fair to Vogue, Williamson is polling at de Blasio levels. Even Gabbard, Gillibrand and Klobuchar are up to a solid integer.

David Begley said...

MW is the perfect candidate for today’s unhinged Democrat party.

The better she does the more it shows sane America how looney the Left really is.

Scott M said...

How many sammiches do you think that group could crank out?

rehajm said...

So Annie Leibovitz jumped off the Beto Bus?

Mary Beth said...

There are a couple of subreddits for Williamson - Marianne2020 and The_Williamson. The second one is listed as satire. Both seem to do a fairly good job of collecting memes. So far, neither has been quarantined. (The_Donald is quarantined and T_D2020 was banned.)

Don’t tell de Blasio. He thinks he’s on a roll. Next thing you know, he’ll say the Cubans bombed Pearl Harbor.

Someone Needs to Ask the Question: so candidate -----, do you feel that this is the type of slight (against Williamson) that is done because she is a woman, not to include her in the shoot? Would they have done that type of thing to a man? Should you have shown solidarity? Did the subject not come up with the other candidates at the shoot, the fact that one of you was missing?

If they try to weasel by saying "lawmakers" there is 10 follow up questions to that. Including whether that now is a requirement. Should it only be Washington based lawmakers. Why a shoot with only women ones? Why use two filters? Why not three filters - a shoot for those who aren't white? Would that work for you? Who makes the call? Are you comfortable with exclusivity, as long it includes you?

mjg235 said...

She's unstoppable.

Ingachuck'stoothlessARM said...

there's a special place in hell for those that left her out ;-)

Viewing this on my 22" monitor rather than my whatever inch iPad they all look photoshopped in. Would a group of people spontaneously position themselves like that when getting together? I think not.

Tulsi is very hot. I'm of the opinion that the photographer placed her in front of the window so she would be in shadow and not look as good.

Joe Rogan interviewed her, it's pretty interesting.

Narayanan said...

This definitely puts Marianne level of self publicity on par with the Trump phone calls given technologies of the periods.

Beasts of England said...

Props to Ms. Williamson for that photoshop - it works on several levels.

As a sign of gratitude on how my son was saved from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) , i decided to reach out to those still suffering from this.
My son have been suffering from ADHD since the year 2016 and it was really tough and heartbreaking for me because he was my all and the symptoms were terrible, he always have difficulty with communication, and he always have problem paying attention . we tried various therapies prescribed by our neurologist but none could cure him. I searched for a cure and i saw a testimony by someone who was cured and so many other with similar body problem, and they left the contact of this doctor who have the herbal cure to ADHD. I never imagined ADHD has a natural cure not until i contacted him and he assured me my son will be fine. Can't make the photograph worse. It's a truly horrible photograph; badly framed, badly composed and very badly lit.
