The perptual diamond: The diamond remains fixed in one place but appears to move up, down, left, or, right. See how far away you can be from your screen before the effect goes away. From https://t.co/XRFKTtjOfm pic.twitter.com/af7BOUCvfC

Looks like the most magnificent diamond ever.
IMHO.
With my glasses on (I am moderately near-sighted), I couldn't get far enough away in the house- I could still see the effect at 30 feet. Without the eye-glasses, it disappeared at about 15 feet.
BTW,
If I blink at a rate that seems to match the rate at which the field changes, I can counteract the effect.
I expected this post to be about the Brewers.
I had higher hopes for Althouse.
If this sorta thing is deemed interesting, and leaving home sux, why bother w/ better eyes?
I think diamonds are racist.
I expected this post to be about the Brewers.
Yeah, it is only an illusion that they will win the World Series.
We had to get very far away at our house.
On the android tablet w/chrome, I get the perpetual (and very common) "The media could not be played" informative message; on the android w/firefox I get the perpetual and informative animated symbol for 'loading'.
On a real computer - pretty cool!
the change of color of the border makes it actually move some, so the effect is a hoax
If I ditched my POS 32" Dell 4k monitors for the new 6k Apples, I think I'd be able to avoid being fooled.
[Yes, I know Dell has 8k. But, it sure don't got up to 1600 nits. snatch!]
I had to stop as a seizure was coming on.
I held a piece of cardboard up to the screen to touch corners. I think bozonomous is right.
I held my cock up to the screen to touch corners. I think bigdickonomous is right.
Focused on the center of the diamond and the motion ceased - everything around it flashes.
Oh, and I heard on CNN that Trump said something, to someone, several times today.
Makes me nauseous, like op-art. But it's cool that mere light and shadow can be so convincing.
Narr
May not be able to look again for a while
It moved.relative to my mouse pointer, and my mouse pointer can’t see.

Diamonds are Forever
cnn is a figment of someone's deranged imagination, btw judge Sullivan folded on requesting the general Flynn transcripts, from justice,
I thought it kept saying Yanni over and over and the screen was blue, but my wife heard Laurel over and over and said it was gold.
Then again, Rachel Dolezeal is Black, Bruce Jenner is a chick and Elizabeth Warren is Indian, or so I’m told.
this is like some weird twilight zone episode from the 80s, except they couldn't have imagined this level of craziness, men who think they are women, british spies passing fake secrets from imaginary Russian spies, people behaving like co 2, the key element in all life process is a deadly poison,
very little is as it seems:

Moby sez that's a knob touch.
Need something wider than a pixel.
It is the shaded edge around the diamond that causes the effect. You need to get away from seeing that pixel line and then it is just a flashing screen behind the diamond. It is a bit cheating to create a 3d shading effect and then say the diamond is just sitting the. The 3d effect is also a diamond.

Narciso, ?
Watch the border carefully and you will see why the diamond appears to move. The way in which the shadows and highlights appear determines which direction you see motion in.
A square doesn't become a diamond simply by placing a corner at the top center.
So why doesn’t it move if I don’t click play?
