"The Twitter hashtag '#KamalaHarrisIsACop' is popular among her progressive detractors..."

"... who point to her work in law enforcement that they say disproportionately affected people of color. 'Kamala Harris is entitled to no scrutiny, just like every other Democratic politician who is loved by Clinton donors. Also, war is peace,' progressive commentator David Sirota tweeted sarcastically in 2017. It came during a stretch where he highlighted her role as California attorney general in the approval of a California hospital merger criticized by nurses and abortion rights activists, as well as misconduct in a crime lab during her tenure as San Francisco district attorney. Harris seemingly tries to deflect progressive criticism in her new memoir, writing that it’s 'a false choice to suggest you must either be for the police or for police accountability.' Given racial disparities in arrest rates that harm 'black and brown people,' 'egregious' police shootings and outfitting of police departments like 'military regiments,' she wrote, 'is it any wonder that the very credibility of these public institutions is on the line?'"

From "Kamala Harris in the Senate/California senator gains prominence by grilling Trump officials, laying the groundwork for a likely 2020 presidential run" (San Francisco Chronicle).

So the Dems kick off the 2020 election by arguing who can propose the highest tax rates and who’s the most anti-cop?

It’s going to be a glorious war!

Yes, we must pretend that blacks are not responsible for most of our violent crime.

Even if it kills us.

And of course those racial disparities in arrest rates have nothing to do with the racial disparities in crime rates..right?

The best-illustrative case was when she failed to prosecute a Sonoma County sheriff's deputy for shooting a 13-year-old in the back for the crime of carrying a toy gun.

While acknowledging that this references a 2017 critique, I have to say the backlash against Harris, and Cortez, seems to have come very quickly. They seem to be pissing off all the wrong, i.e.; most powerful, people in the party.

I looked this up. HOLY SHIT. IT'S TRUE.

Watch as during some speech some BLM female nutcase jumps on stage (like they did with Bernie), steals the mic, and calls her a "negro bed-wentch" (look it up).

I. need. more. CORN!!!

Another nice summary of KM's professionalism and sense of justice as AG in California. https://observer.com/2015/03/california-prosecutor-falsifies-transcript-of-confession/
If you believe criminals shouldn't be railroaded by prosecutors fabricating evidence and committing perjury, and that prosecutors who commit such practices should be prosecuted and disbarred, then you simply do not share KM's view of "justice."

I am troubled by the very real possibility that Kamala Harris doesn't have a brain in her head. Last night on Stephen Colbert, he asked a question to which she gave a total non-answer:

COLBERT: If he declares an emergency, does a next president declare an emergency, does it open the floodgates, can that person declare a national emergency because there's no health care, and that's killing people, or because we don't have sensible gun laws, and people are killed by gun violence? Is it a tool that presidents, once used, will always use?

HARRIS: Part of why I wrote my book is to talk about what we have lost recently, but must fight for, which is nobility of public service. We hold these positions in the public trust, and there is some assumption that the American public rightly makes that when we have power we will use it in the best interests of the people we represent and not in the best interests of ourselves.

[Colbert sagely nods.]

Even accustomed as we are to politicians not answering the questions they are asked, this is a mind-boggling change of subject. One suspects that Harris is unequipped to answer any question that wasn't anticipated, and so brainlessly serves up her next talking point.

"... law enforcement that they say disproportionately affected people of color."

The whole proportionality thing is mind boggling. All outcomes must must be racially proportional. We cannot be allowed to think that the reason law enforcement disproportionately affected people of color is because they committed more crimes (generally disproportionately against people of color).

I think her record speaks for itself. I think it worthy of more in depth inspection. She followed a very specific course that maximized her political stature. She was and is a very calculating political being.

A much more effective knock on Kamala Harris; she appears to be ready to challenge federal judiciary nominees based on their membership in the Knights of Columbus. As an organization "that opposes a woman's right to choose."

She's right but not in the way she means. The old aristocracy believed production tainted and those who engaged in it were low-class. As a result the aristocracy deserved more - as they were in the important business of deciding how much of the production should be theirs.

One aspect of the various hatreds promoted by Marxism and internalized by socialists and other government control advocates is seeing work in non-government (i.e., production) as tainted often expressed as "greed". This is intrinsically appealing to potential socialists. Why bother learning the hard work of production when it's so much easier to invent reasons why you deserve more of others production. Effectively socialists have replaced the old aristocracy both in attitude and effect.

So now the left is all skee-weed up because she's some kind of race traitor? I wonder what's really behind this negative coverage, since the left can and will let pretty much anything slide when necessary.

"And of course those racial disparities in arrest rates have nothing to do with the racial disparities in crime rates..right?"

No. Even if you account for those disparities, the bias persists. Especially when you remember that most "crimes" are not crimes of violence but sin crimes -- drug, sex work, etc. For example, black people smoke marijuana at about the same rate as white people. But they are four times as likely to be busted for simple possession.
