2018 was a great year for men's hair.
According to New York Magazine, with lots of pictures to make the point about what they are calling "heartthrob hair."

Ya got any men's hair on men?
2018 was not a great year for Mens Sana.
I have tremendous hair. The best hair. Let me tell you about it...
Better than bald is a pretty high standard.
Especially woven orange.
"heartthrob hair"
I asked for that hair-do here in Injun country and they scalped me. $18!
No Afro-American hair. So typical of New York magazine. Also, how can you discuss great hair without mentioning Beto O'Rourke?
When I was young I had fabulous hair. (sigh)
Now it's just okay. At least I still have some.
Gah, what weak, wimpy looking dudes.
What happened to men? Can anyone imagine full grown guys like Robert Mitchum, Jason Robards, or Gregory Peck getting anywhere in entertainment nowadays?
I have a misfiring synapse that causes me to confuse David Sedaris with Dave Eggers. Mental note: Dave Eggers is the one with heartthrob hair.
This is a time of great men's haircuts. Barbering is back in style and men are looking good. But the photos don't show any of that. They just show guys with hair that was made famous by that creepy Englishman. What was his name? He was engaged or married to some hot actress and gets caught in a car with some crack whore.
I'll take bald over those sissies any day.
I notice the article focuses on hair on the head. Not chest hair, or back hair, or . . .
"I have a misfiring synapse that causes me to confuse David Sedaris with Dave Eggers. Mental note: Dave Eggers is the one with heartthrob hair."
In the David Sedaris story I linked to, he's recognized as a famous person and then referred to as "Dave Chapelle."
How silly of the caretaker. Chapelle doesn't write surprisingly popular non-fiction with really wordy titles.
Just who the hell are these people? I have no clue what they have accomplished outside of having hair in an acceptably androgynous way...
The tousled curly look. If men start getting perms again, I'm out.
Mr. Sandman (yes) bring us a dream
Give him a pair of eyes with a "come-hither" gleam
Give him a lonely heart like Pagliacci
And lots of wavy hair like Liberace.
I didn't see any men in those photos.
Hair today, gone tomorrow. The hair and style wars have been going on forever, not my problem.
And the prize goes to: any of the pictured hair guys who can bench press 50 pounds.
Thick hair = Young
Bald = Old
Evolution at work.
I have hair, but it is a pain for me. Very fine, grows in different directions, impossible to style really, not that I have any or my wife cares after 30 years. I just go to our local barber school and tell the kid to take a #3 across the top, and a #2 to the sides, and i'll straight razor the side burns when I get home. I don't generally trust barber students with several mortgage payments worth of tattoos with sharp blades. Costs me 8 bucks, plus a 5 dollar tip if they don't draw blood. I don't rightly know how many barbers retire regularly, but there are usually 8-10 students there. Is there that much hair to cut?
Actually once you're past a certain age, being bald is a plus.
You're not getting the chicks anyway. You're old.
Or if you are getting the chicks - it has nothing to do with your looks.
Positives: Less trips to the barber and less time in the chair. Plus, less time combing your hair.
Downside: Bald guys can't run for POTUS.
rcocean: see Eisenhower https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Ike+as+president+photos&t=ffnt&atb=v76-7_q&ia=images&iax=images&iai=https%3A%2F%2Fikesanvil.files.wordpress.com%2F2015%2F09%2Fike125.png%3Fw%3D236%26h%3D300
Ike only got elected because he ran before TV, 75% of the USA didn't have TV in 1952.
Women Voters + TV = No bald guys.
Well, baldness is caused by testosterone...
I still have my "heart throb" hair at 65. Women are always running their fingers through and dishing props. Too bad I don't have much in tbe resivoir to back it up. Sigh.
As a nearly bald guy, I find this...
...wait for it...
...problematic.
So which one's the straight guy?
Good Greif! were those men? All were girly-men with the SAME haircut. I just hope the survival of western civilization doesn't depend on these. It just shows how out of touch NY is -- and all of those who think that look is what most men look like or aspire to.
