"#TrumpDerangementSyndrome can be career ending."

From the linked Hill article:
A newspaper reporter in Massachusetts resigned on Friday after falsely claiming in a tweet that the gunman who opened fire on a newsroom in Maryland a day earlier was wearing a hat bearing President Trump's campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again."...

"Folks, My 21-year career as a 'journalist,' a fancy term that makes my skin crawl, frankly, came to a screeching halt yesterday with one stupid, regrettable tweet," [wrote Conor Berry, a reporter at The Republican in Springfield, Mass.] "Can't take it back; wish I could. My sincere apologies to all good, hardworking reporters and to POTUS supporters."
Does he say where he got the false information? Did he make it up? Did he have a source who lied?

Drago -- It's important to assess malice in such statements, as well. I'm unaware of any negative impact when I promoted Jen to a Chuck favorite, but there is significant malice in falsely attributing that comment to Trump.

It is not unreasonable to assume LLR Chuck "favorite" status for a particular commenter when that commenter and LLR Chuck share almost perfect alignment with substance, tone and intent.

There is nothing "unproven" about Chuck having written a racist comment regarding Ben Carson.

There is a delicious bit of irony here. It is quite easy to see Chuckles' statement about Ben Carson as an attempt of ironic/sarcastic humor attacking Trump and his supporters, and not a racist attack on Ben Carson. But in order to do so, you must be able to not assume the worst about Chuckles and his intentions. Which is exactly what Chuckles is unable or unwilling to do for Trump.

Raise your hand if you think non-racist Chuck has an Africa-American accountant!

That's a good catch, Gahrie. It's also ironic that Chuck would stir up a shit storm with dishonest commentary and then complain about clutter in the comments. Even more delicious, he then gives Althouse an "I told you so". Hubris and delusion at that level hasn't been seen since Obama.

Chuck, if you want your money now, I can send it to you with the understanding you might have to send it back and then vacate the comments section if Conyers III wins as an independent. I write this because I do find it unlikely he will get the 3000 signatures to qualify as an independent since he was unable to get 1000 for the primary. If you do want the money, just send me an e-mail with an address to twixella@aol.com

My first comment on this post was about Twitter and accuracy (per the post) and Trump.

As is always the case, I never mentioned any of you. I just don't think of any of you most of the time.

But along comes the bully-crew of the usual Althouse suspects to comment about me, and who I must be allied with, and what a leftist I am. Any comment of mine seems to provoke a ragefest of a dozen or so comments, at least, all aimed at me personally. I think it's funny. And now, knowing how this all came to be more or less routine at Althouse's blog, and how I warned Althouse of several specific commenters, I think it is funny that this is the pattern that she very specifically did not want to see. "Clutter," focusing on personal attacks instead of the topic of the post.

So the thing about Chuck, fopdoodle extraordinaire, and the dog is true?

I have never called you a leftist but your perfect and timely alignment with every lefty talking point that comes down the pike s well as your immediate and passionate defense of left wing hack media types and democrats and lefty cultural figures makes your operational alignment with left and often far left quite beyond dispute.

How you choose to self-identify is utterly irrelevant.

Fabi said...

Birkel -- I wouldn't say it's true because my standard of proof is much higher than rumors so absurd the lefty WaPo awards it four Pinocchios. If my standards were lower, and my malicious intent prevalent and documented, I would believe that Chuck likes to suck dog dick because I've seen it claimed several times on the Internet.

Fabi,

So you're saying confirmed racist Chuck, fopdoodle extraordinaire, is a racist but is not yet proven to be a canine fellator?

Fabi said...

I apply the spontaneous utterance rule to his racism -- so yes, Birkel. His non-denial of mutt sodomy remains disturbing.

Birkel said...

Fabi,

I agree that Chuck, fopdoodle extraordinaire, is racist. His statement against interest is clearly an exception to the normal hearsay rules. And the spontaneous or excited utterance also clearly applies.

One imagines that canine fellatio is less likely than Democrat-politician fellatio. But Chuck leaves the options open and I'd hate to sell him short.

Fabi said...

Birkel -- I'm not a lawyer but statement against interest is a more applicable convention.

Fabi said...

Thanks, as well, Birkel -- I understand the concept, but couldn't remember the term. I'll make a note of it!

Fabi,
It was a lucky guess. I'm just a schmuck from a questionable background and limited exposure to those high falutin' and damnable bull shit lawyer words.

P.S. I'm currently semi-watching Roadhouse and remembering how awesome it and the Family Guy send-up are.

I'll wait. And I'll remind you, if he doesn't get on the ballot.

I can't believe I actually seriously thought about sending a campaign contribution to John Conyers III.
