It's not a big motorcycle, just a groovy little motorbike!

When I was young, I had admiration for HDs and the following. That admiration dissolved quickly when I realized that most of the following was long on ego and short on self-esteem. I worked with several otherwise good guys whose identity was wrapped up in advertising their HD ownership on their clothing, arms, and decals on all of their non-HD vehicles. And don't even get me started about an ex-next door neighbor that would start up his HD ever saturday morning at 6 AM and let it sit and idle for 45 minutes before he actually got on and rode it.

Mac McConnell,

"I know the guy whose family owns both massive HD dealers in KC."

Interesting. OK, I'll bite. So what's the relationship between Gail and Worth?

So Tim in Vermont, I see you’re letting your feminine alter ego loose today. A few weeks ago your profile page “Tim in Vermont” showed up when I clicked on Aunty Trump’s avatar, lol.

Don’t ever yell at me for having had sock puppets, lol.

Hey Inga, You don't have the last post on the
"Trump wins the travel ban case."
Hop to it!

Harley Davidson is a lifestyle company not a motorcycle company. While the lifestyle happens to include a motorcycle, the lifestyle is uniquely American. Getting into an argument over where the bikes are made is not going to work out well for HD.

They should hope that aura is not a penumbra, where companies and fetuses, offspring, babies conclude with a wicked solution.

"The distinctive atmosphere or quality that seems to surround and be generated by a motorcycle with no mufflers."

One reason for that is safety. The others probably have to do with ego and such.

Tune them out, turn them off, and otherwise be Leary of them.

This from the guy whose shit was made in 12 foreign countries including China."

Chuck, that's when he was a businessman playing the business game. Now's he a president playing the presidency game. That's not hypocrisy. It's a different set of priorities, the two roles.

Well unlike "businessman" (celebrity book author, reality tv host, real estate brand manager) Donald Trump, Harley-Davidson is a real business and they can't afford to play around. They are going to follow their own priorities, instead of photo-ops with Donald Trump.

Harley-Davidson, thanks in large part to Trump's trade war, is going to offshore the production of much of its foreign sales. Not its production of motorcycles for the U.S. market. It's a lot less bad than Donald Trump's offshoring of his production of goods for sale in the U.S.

What Scott said @ 8:51
You want a touring bike? Buy a Goldwing or a Moto Guzzi. They won't puree your kidneys and not every nut and bolt is glued on.
