"Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced movie mogul, is expected to surrender to the police in Manhattan on Friday on charges that he raped one woman..."

"... and forced another to perform oral sex on him, law enforcement officials said.... The Manhattan district attorney’s office faced an outcry over not charging Mr. Weinstein in the groping case, but the outcome this time was different."

The NYT reports.

I note the MSM leave off the part where Harvey is a Mega Democrat Donor.

I'm certain if Harvey were a Republican donor, we'd hear about it from the press. first thing, over and over.

Only a short time ago I was reliably told here that Weinstein would never be indicted because he's a Democrat.

Prole - he's a very wealthy democrat. If he sees the inside of a prison I will be surprised.

Rape gets you in trouble even if you're famous. Stick to inappropriate behavior.

Literally, there were thousands of democrat/lefty/#MeToo types that spent literally years enabling, covering, supporting and operationalizing the democrat hollywood sexual harassment industry.

That lefty hollywood "industry" included the perpetrators, all their day to day enablers who helped set up the women, some men and children (lots and lots of children), lefty corporate board members who literally wrote payoffs into contracts, the biggest democrat law firms put on retainer to protect the abusers and to hire the thugs and intimidators to harass the victims into keeping silent. Democrat politicians like Hillary who were explicitly told about abusers and kept it quiet....for years...and still happily associated with the perpetrators.

Complicit

Thousands of democrat enablers.

Literal "armies of democrat enablers. Armies....

The behavior is normal operating procedure, far from needing a coverup. It's the whining about it that's unusual today, as if sexual difference could no longer be tolerated.

Society has to be every woman's husband, worried about how she feels, is the modern idea.

A true feminist would say work it out yourself, honey.

FIFY. Money trumps politics, no pun intended.

Is money > politics?

James Buchanan, Nobel laureate, might just disagree. Buchanan would definitely agree that control of politics --> money.

So would Adam Smith.

The problem is that Weinstein thought politics + money > criminal behavior. Few people publicly agree but many want yo test the theory.

politics + money > criminal behavior

women > politics + money

The more interesting reversal, see Cosby and Freeman and R. Whathisname: women > blacks

So many version of rape!

Is he accused of 'he held me down and had his way with me' rape?

Is he accused of 'he gave me social anxiety until I capitulated' rape?

Is he accused of 'he didn't call me in the morning afterwards and I feel like a stupid slut' rape?

Is it 'I wanted a part but I didn't want a part of his fat ass but had to have sex with him for a quid pro quo' rape?'

Is it 'my career is definitely over and I need some new gig so I am going to take a non-rape event and play it as rape' rape? We call that the Ashley Addendum to rape.

Or was it the most lofty of the lot: the Althousian 'I was not panting and dripping for it and was NOT 100% engaged in desire' rape? Oops, I'm sorry. That isn't rape rape. That is 'bad sex' with overtones of rape.

Perhaps Whoopi Goldberg can distinguish exactly what brand of 'rape' it was.

This is not defending Weinstein. But how is 'forced oral sex' not also rape? So that makes me have a doubt about the quality of the charges.

This is also push back to the idea 'things that women don't like are automatically criminal' which seems to be spreading.

One of the best friends I will ever have and a man I love dearly, former President Bill Clinton, has certainly taxed my feminist conscience, but always without diminishing my affection. I even helped write his apology to the nation for his own sexual misconduct, was sitting next to him when he delivered it, and believe to this day it was based on something that was none of our business. And yes, some may call it hypocritical, but I confess to having had no problem warning at least three top-level Democratic operatives against allowing Harvey Weinstein to host political fundraisers. A warning that evidently (and to the glee of Fox News) [Republicans pounced!] fell on deaf ears. - Linda Bloodsworth Thomason of Little Rock.

No wonder Hillary ghosted Ronan Farrow when she found out what he was working on!

What Democrats and feminists have done is redefine the level of power one must have (it’s always hypergamy with women) before you can “grab them by the pussy.”

So a woman who sold sex accuses a man of sampling the goods without payment.

Is the charge rape or shoplifting?
