Just one of many examples:
I got there via "It’s Sweater Weather Forever/Samuel Barsky has gained a measure of fame online for posting photographs of himself in front of famous landmarks with his handmade sweaters" (NYT).
Mr. Barsky, a Baltimore native, said he started knitting in 1999 when he dropped out of nursing school at his local community college. Then, he was shopping at a flea market in Lutherville, Md., where he saw three women selling yarn. He asked if they would teach him how to knit.... At first he created nature scenes. But then he became taken with famous landmarks. “If I know my plans in advance I’ll knit a sweater and take it there,” he said.

I wish Irene could see this!
Where's Moe to have Curley pick two fingers, and then poke him in the eyes??
Well, ok.
If I know my plans in advance
I've always depended upon the kindness of strangers.
I must admit. That is the FIRST short sleeve sweater I have ever seen.
Hard to believe Sam has time for knitting, what with all of the babes he's slammin'.
Whatever floats your boat, dude.
That's a true fellow Baltimoron there.
Well if I know where we're going, then I might know, what I'll sew
And if I know what I'm knittin, then my shirt may show, what I've seen
And we're not little children and I should know what I want
But the future is uncertain,
Give me time to knit it out.
That's pretty great, actually. Eccentric in a gentle Red Green kind of way.
@Althouse, maybe she can.
I'm not a fan of short sleeves in sweaters. Ever.
Wow! He has over one hundred. Must be a fast knitter!
News, fake news and... Squirrel!
Or squirrely.
Thanks for all the mindcrap!

He is married and knits sweater dresses for his wife. There are pictures of these on his Instagram account.
I’m somehow reminded of Bissage.
Ecce homo! Sorry ladies, this HHBL (hunka hunka burning love) is taken.
The world needs more Sams.
The curve.
Goes.
THE WRONG WAY.
He knits a sweater a month. I'm impressed despite the fact that I don't particularly like the individual sweaters and I actively dislike the ugly baggy (but not a raglan) short sleeve thing happening.
I hope he recycles the Hanukkah sweater...
He cheated on the Amish country one- it's more of a vest..
I don't like all the hashtags - #MakeAmericaBeautifulAgain
Is there a men-in-shortsleeve-sweaters tag?
Seems like he’s saving time by not knitting sleeves.
At least he produces something physical rather than hot air.
And basket-weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes and...
Just as well he didn't make the road straight and wide.
So I wonder how long it will be until we see one hanging in the Smithsonian?
Sorry, off topic. Rebbeca Dallet, in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race won by a huge margin! Hear that Scott Walker?
Lovely sweater, BTW.
Toxic masculinity...is there anything it can't do.
I'm sure he knits sweaters as presents for friends and relatives. Can you imagine they joy on their faces when he presents them with such thoughtful gifts.
i sincerely hope this helps him get laid.
The Germans have a word for this.
Dummkopf?
Think you used enough hashtags there, Butch?
His name may be Barsky, but the sweater is certainly barfsky.
Woodcock!
So, this is Pajama Boy in his 40s?
Read some fun stuff here. Althouse is petrified.
"Soon" Heh.
Oh, here's our girl!
Everything will be alright.
Can any one commenting knit? Or you be knit wits?
All the knitters be asleep.
If we grade this art on a curve.....
So alot of knit wits? An Althouse thing.
Inga is wet with delight!
Yes..activist, San Fran money/values gal wins!
Pervy grandpas smilin' Inga!
Never stick your dick into crazy.
Words to live by.
Slosh, slosh, slosh, slosh, slosh... mmm ug. Shit. Big sigh.
Inga: The perfect wife for...
Did I miss Althouse's fisking of Dallet's extra-legal focus?
I blame Global Warming..dropping snow on the low profile election..swung by tide pod ingesters and still seething capitol singers
Inga,
Did you contribute to "Andy" McCabe's GOFUND mE?
(She's kinda busy right now)
Here's where you should throw your surplus bucks.
George Costanza knits?
WTF was Erich Holder doing pumping $ into the WI judicial election? And they bought that?
Fools!
Well, Holder is the Gold standard in terms of legal minds..(cough, cough)
(Inga's still busy)
Well, if you're dumb enough to read the NYT, this is the kind of crap you'll come across. Really, A-house, if you want to turn your blog into some kind of gay internet bath house for NYC butt blisters and Cleveland steamers, please let me know so I can give it a pass.

Probably no backs to them either. Has anyone ever seen the back of one these gems?
So I looked at his Insty account -- and he's using the same pattern in each of the sweaters. As the husband of a constant knitter, I know that saves huge amounts of time. (Ditto the short sleeves, the number of times I've heard my wife complain about knitting sleeves on small needles!!) But there are some long sleeve versions on the instagram acct.
I imagine, though, if you're knitting scenes of places you're going, and you're going there in the summer, short sleeves might be preferable.
A male nursing school dropout who took up knitting and posts selfies while wearing shitty sweaters featuring landscapes with crucial details wrong. Ohhhhhh-kay.
White people like ugly sweaters
Imagine going to an Estate Sale, and there's a room full of odd sleeve-less sweaters with huge neck openings, and the sweater fronts are depicting various scenes.
That's a room I would not enter.
he travels too much
Oh my gosh! Mr. Barsky's one of the few reasons I visit Facebook anymore. He and his wife are Sweet. He's a pretty good cook, too.
I'm more of a lace / pattern stitch knitter, myself. His encouragement has got me trying out Intarsia (his sort of colorwork) for the first time, in making some simple-patterned children's sweaters.

He is genuinely shocked at the amount of publicity he's been receiving lately; not sure that Mme cares for it.
I knit, and I can definitely agree that leaving off the sleeves saves time. Sleeves are the black holes of sweater- knitting.
