17 women made accusations in a timely manner and documented the assaults.
I am sure there were more that refused to come forward. Bill has a long history of threatening and intimidating his victims.

That would be Juanita Broaddrick, and probably Kathleen Willey (though, if you want to split hairs, I believe Willey only said that William Jefferson Clinton sexually assaulted her -- I don't recollect that she ever used the "r" word).
So Lewinsky was raped by becoming Broaddrick and Wiley. Ok.

I don't know if I would call it "rape." Maybe there is a word for when the most powerful politician on the planet deigns to receive a BJ from a lowly intern. "Harmless affair" doesn't seem to be apt.

I am late to the party on this, but Brokaw has always struck me as an above-board guy. Of all the MSM, I am more likely to trust his take on things vs. oh, I don't know, the rest of them. Now, he is counting on that substantial capital of trust with average folks in his own defense. All the same, when accusation = conviction...
Brokaw reminds me of the guy who, whenever he was questioned about the truth of something he said, always replied "If I said it, is true." And if asked why it is true, he would reply "It's true because I said it."

The new right-wing explanation in basic assholery explains itself: Asks how it was rude, receives an answer, and then divulges that simply being replied to was just a ploy for attention and basically a way to demonstrate control/manipulation over others. Sounds pretty boring and idiotic to me but if that's all one has going for oneself in life, it could explain some things.
How was I discourteous? Usually I am a pretty courteous guy and only discourteous on purpose and when it is deserved. If you will explain, perhaps I can apologize and not do it again.
I don't debate (or even enter into rational discussions) with idiots or lunatics. Everything I write here is for the benefit of any other commenter who is less impressed with lying and manipulation and being a rude weasel than you are and interested in avoiding that.

But since you keep coming back to grab the bait, does that mean I am NOT an idiot or a lunatic? Does this colloquy between us count as a "rational discussion"? Let me know and I'll file it away for reference.
Yet you keep implying that you think I am one. I think that you repeatedly coming back and replying even after publicly saying that you won't says more about you than about me.
BTW: For those wondering about PR Spaceport, at one time Richard Branson was considering locating his launching site at the former Roosevelt Roads. It is a good location for a number of reasons and, if it does not happen with Branson, it may happen with someone else. Google has a facility there and is experiment with Google balloons.
When I attended a space conference a couple years ago I needed a business card so got the gmail address.
When I found that nobody had staked a claim, I bought prspaceport.com and some other similar domains. I also own some domains around the airport that was supposed to develop there. One of these days those will be worth BIG MONEY!!! Just wait and see.

Don't know if the accusations against Tom B are accurate. Don't really care. The MeTooooooooo movement was dissolving into a version of the recovered memory child abuse scandals of years past.
Sorry a few acts of clumsy male attention and perceived fear of reprisal from decades ago should not be grounds for career ending.

Calling you out for what you are is not "responding to bait." But not knowing whether you want to discuss something with someone or simply derive a thrill from their attention means that you're mentally/emotionally about 3 years old.
I don't mind calling you out as a developmentally disabled intellectual 3-year old. I'll do it as often as anyone needs to hear it.
And I could just as easily refer to all your comments directed (typically unsolicited) at me as "bait responses." But that just continues what is, for you, a mutual masturbation cycle. So consider this an act of having just splooged all over your face, got up, and left.

"J'accuse!" indeed. Brokaw became a self-righteous twit; nonetheless, what he's alleged to have done is not criminal and, although "inappropriate" by today's standards, may have been more in expected/appropriate territory then.
And is it even necessary to point out that more than a few women have been willing to trade sex (or the possibility of it) for career enhancement?
Given that the present evidence is thin-to-none, and that the event is now ancient and human memory notoriously unreliable, this accusation belongs firmly in the "McCarthyite" bucket.
Unless more evidence appears of misconduct, of course. And even though Brokaw is an ass.
Sounds like he's been contemplating that existence for a while now. Or he's a ready wit.
