Snopes takes on the man mowing his lawn while a tornado rages in the background...
... and marks it true.

A real man would have used a reel mower.

Canada.
‘Why is your husband mowing the lawn?”
Let me handle this one, Cecelia. Because the grass is too long.
Tornado is way further off than it looks.
Once you realize the sucker is moving away you can get a little bit of a high from cheating death. Crazy stuff like that lawn mowing photo ops can happen.
"Tornado is way further off than it looks."
Yes. Also at the link: Everyone was standing outside looking at the tornado.
Doing his part to Make America Great."
Canada.

Heh. Don't just stand there, grab a broom and start sweeping.
He apparently explained, "I was keeping an eye on it".
Canada.
Oh...
Storm chasers get closer to tornadoes than that. Of course sometimes they die doing so.
The wife was asked by her relatives why her husband was mowing the lawn with a tornado on the ground. She said he was "keeping an eye on it."
That lawn wasn't going to mow itself, you know.
I first saw the photo on Twitter when some media Twit said the guy ignoring the looming tornado was the perfect metaphor for Trump's climate change policy. My response of: "Why? Because he's totally fine AND he was productive?" was not replied to.
Most tornadoes have a narrow track, maybe 100 yards wide. They completely take the houses on one side of the street and don't touch the houses on the other side. But occaisionally they are a mile wide. He was just being a realist...no tornadophobic this guy.
I wait for SMOD every night.
Could be worse. Could be mowing grass in Manitoba.
(Canadian humor, I know. Doesnt translate well)
Snopes might be OK as long as politics is not involved.
Telephoto lens are like women - they compress everything into what is essentially a big lie.
The Hubble telescope? A big lie. Compressing billions of light years is a fraud, but looks pretty.
That tornado was in the next county.
Snopes is kind of like Wikipedia. You can probably take their word if the subject is not political.
