I'm reasonably proud of my Inauguration Day blogging. There were times — I'm sure you knew...
... when I bit off more than I could chew, but through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out, I faced it all, and I stood tall, and I am done for the night.

Thank you for the sanity break.
Thank you for the blogging and for the chuckle on this last post of the day. You really did it your way!
That was high level reporting on a storm of events happening too fast to process. Sleep on it, Dear Professor.
Wonderful, Ms. Blue Eyes.
Well blogged, Ms. Althouse! Thank you.
Biggest chuckle today I think was the protester on CNN burning his hand as he set the American flag on the bonfire.
Yes, it was great! Even though Trump considers people who are opposed to him as his "enemies", Althouse does no such thing.
It's only 9:22 where you are, wassa matta, getting old.
Thanks, AA
Thanks, and sweet dreams.

LOL
How can the dems send you out without even a modicum of knowledge, understanding or capability?

snip: "Cooper said to the debaters, "You've all made a few people upset over your political careers. Which enemy are you most proud of?"
In Democratic debate, Hillary Clinton sticks to script and emerges unscathed
Hillary Clinton: Well, in addition to the NRA, the health insurance companies, the drug companies, the Iranians. Probably the Republicans"
Our lefty trolls are so below average it's a bit insulting really.
One of the most interesting moments of the day involved Obama and his staff (hundreds of staff, perhaps more), after Trump's Inauguration. They were all waiting in a airplane hangar at Andrews Joint Base, where the Obamas were taking off for California. Obama made brief predictable remarks, but then he and Michelle plunged into the crowd for a hug fest. They individually greeted hundreds of people, hugging and pausing to chat with more than just a few. Everyone seemed happy, grateful and poised. It was a real love fest and quite informal. Quite affecting, and very different from the austere impression you so often got of the Obamas in public.
Its even more ironic considering Will said blacks should be deported back to Africa.
Check out the pic of Huma at Drudge. Hot.
Excellent!
Regards — Cliff
Yes David, one of the reasons President Obama is loved and respected.
Much appreciated. Including several LOL observations.
Good night.
@Will, loved, perhaps. Respected? Not by anyone with a scintilla of understanding.
Thank you, and bravo. I didn't read everything you wrote today - maybe later. You simple have too much energy for me, and I couldn't keep up.
I commented on another post about Hitler's 1933 rally to celebrate his odious assumption of power in Germany. I linked to the Youtube video, and I won't do it again. I failed to point out that the 1933 announcer was none other than the evil propagandist, and anti-Semite, Dr. Goebbels - a truly malevolent person.
If I'm making an unfair / awful comparison of Hitler to Trump, I apologize. It his potential for abusing the powers of his office that I most worry about. Althouse instinctively keeps an eye out for that for us. Her legal training is a key factor in that.
The last point I'll make is the power that a popular blogger or in this case "live blogger" like Althouse wields is considerable. She has the ability, like a good attorney, to shape our thinking on various subjects. Fortunately, she is a benevolent force who is intent on explaining everything she takes in with her acute five senses, and brilliant mind.
You're a ring-a-ding broad, Althouse.
All that dancing with servicemen and women at the Armed Forces Ball is going to play very well in Peoria and will be boffo in Boise.
Of course it will be panned in Palo Alto and snarked at in San Francisco. But California is ready to secede anyway.
Althouse, thank you for the coverage. It was concise and hit all the most interesting points I later found on other sites. And in your usual way, you found interesting angles that many would not have not noticed.
I know we are often at odds, but your coverage was excellent. Thank you for spending so much time and energy on our behalf.
Althouse, I admire your work ethic enormously and I enjoy its fruits literally every day. Thank you, truly, for all the pleasure your creation brings to us.
Trumpit: "If I'm making an unfair / awful comparison of Hitler to Trump..."
LOL
Yeah. You are making an unfair comparison. You insult every individual murdered by that regime by minimizing it and your side applying that label to every republican since Eisenhower.
Moron.
Drago,
The jury is out on Trump, but I predict hell to pay for installing that pathetic MORON in a position of tremendous power. If he cause WWIII, then he will be far worse than George W. Bush, who killed millions, and will be the Worst Person in Human History.
If you call me a moron to my face, I'll spit in eye. LOSER.
Drago,
I won't answer you nasty comments every again. You are a cipher, and I don't talk to those. So, don't address me ever again, or I'll spit in your cowardly face.
"Of course it will be panned in Palo Alto and snarked at in San Francisco. But California is ready to secede anyway."
*************Let them try, and then let them see how much a CalPeso is worth on the world market.
Prediction: Nada.
Why? because Cali has a half-trillion in debt on its books.
So..this new nation will have to continue using the US dollar.
Now THERE's "secession" for you!
BWAAAAhahahahahah!!
I watched some this morning before going to work. Sound off, I hate listening to those twits, they won't shut up. The faces were interesting to watch. I loved the big guys helping people, the sharp and capable attendants, each with a smile and no doubt access to some heavy weaponry if things went awry. Almost everyone looked like they weren't sure of their footing.
Washington was set back on their heels today. There are lots of institutions, bureaucracies, practices and habits that will have to justify their existence, and some of them will have trouble doing it.
Oddly, yesterday while driving I was imagining the speech Trump would give. It was pretty close to what he said, where the people were the ones who were in charge.
It isn't the rioters and anarchists that Washington has to worry about.

No ciphers?
Oh really?
How about positive integers?
Or square roots? Do they gain your passing notice?
Do natural logs get your immediate attention?
I suspect--- given your prog fantasies---imaginary numbers would be just your thing.
Am I right?
p.s. pls explain why an anonymous poster such as you is NOT a cipher.
Show your work!
Great day to be alive, great day to be an American.
You Da Man, Althouse!
Well, not in that sense, but you know....
Jay @11:01
USB port silly!
Somebody needs to drain their spit valve!
LOL!
Not My President, Not Now, Not Ever

I could not have said it better myself. Good-night y'all.
Oh, look Spitvalve is posting a NYT opinion piece that will get him through the night.
Here's a blankie.
Just got back from a bar on University Ave in Seattle.
Police helicopters circling above the campus.
Protests over Milo speaking. Someone was shot.
Riot police on the corners of the Ave as I left.
College Town America.
I am Laslo.
It's just omlette making equipment officer!
Trumpit, you can throw your feces around here just like your loutish soulmates did in DC today - and it won't change one fucking thing, no matter how much you howl at the clouds.
Donald Trump is president. Hillary will never be president. The wretched era of Obama is over, thank God.
Developing
"Just got back from a bar on University Ave in Seattle"
From inside the bar we watched riot police walk down the street in small groups.
Several were at the corner of 45th, chatting and waiting. Batons.
Inside the bar no obvious politics of a heated manner. Basketball on the screens. Seventies Rock and Rap on the Juke.
I have seen many of The Future Drinkers of America, and some of them seem like they'll be just fine.
I am Laslo.
Why can't Lefties spell "fascism"?
"Just got back from a bar on University Ave in Seattle"
Traffic screwed on the Ave for awhile as buses were rerouted there after Fifteenth, a block over, was closed by the Police.
The Future Drinkers of America: playing pool, taking group selfies, trying not to look too desperate about wanting to hook up.
A group of five chubby chicks downing White Russians: happy, not morose. They took care with their hair.
I am Laslo.
"Just got back from a bar on University Ave in Seattle"
An SUV parked in the red, right beside the fire hydrant.
I would've thought, with all the police presence, that it would have been towed.
Like, maybe they'd need the hydrant to put out any potential riot fires.
Eh.
Protesters damned by low expectations.
I am Laslo.
"Just got back from a bar on University Ave in Seattle"
People in front of the bar, smoking and watching the helicopters.
The length of time it takes to smoke a cigarette coincides nicely with the amount of time watching circling helicopters is found interesting.
A few ambulances pass east on 45th, no flashing lights;: they're probably circling, too.
I am Laslo.
Ladling, you're in Seattle? More of us (PNW conservatives/libertarians) than I thought....
Sorry, that was for Laszlo, not Ladling, who ever that is
Apparently the Left isn't winning a lot of converts at the U tonight. My son tells me that most students he's talked to are describing the protests as insanity. The shooting shook a lot of kids up.
BTW Laslo,
The road is actually University Way.
I know folks call it the ave.
"Just got back from a bar on University Ave in Seattle."
Trumpit might be onto something. Downtown DC certainly experienced its Krisrtallnacht yesterday afternoon. Of course the windows were being shattered by lefty protesters and not by Trump supporters. Also the swastikas painted on synagogues and other buildings last November and December were painted by lefty protesters and not by Trump supporters, but if you ignore those minor, inconvenient facts, why Trump is really, really just like Adolph Hitler.
Thanks for doing the blogging "My Way" meaning your way.
People calling Trump Hitler have no sense of history--and no shame.
Where is the SA? Where was the SA?
Oh, and who was it who said that he wanted a civilian security force as powerful as the Army?
"Where is the SA? Where was the SA?"
On the streets of DC and Seattle breaking store windows and setting fire to cars.
Oh.
You mean Trumps SA?
He hasn't got any.
You're watching Soros' SA.
Soros.
The primary funder of the Democrat Partys agents of domestic terror.
