"Trump ties with Pope Francis in U.S. poll for second most-admired man in the world."

Funniest headline of the day. At Politico. The poll is from Gallup, and Trump and Francis aren't tied for #1. Obama is #1. He got 13%. The Trump and Francis numbers combined are less than that. And Hillary's #1 on the women's list. #1 for the 20th time, which is 7 more times than Eleanor Roosevelt. So calm down Trumpions.

I think these are the types of names that generally make both the Most Admired and Least Admired lists.

Except maybe this Pope. Who has positioned himself as Papal Santa Claus.

Most admired traits would be a better list.

Very misleading. Hillary is the most admired woman at 13% but 60% of the electorate think she is dishonest.

What is the reason for separating men and women? It would be more interesting to see how Trump stacks up against Hilary.

How much credence can you give to polls that list Hillary as a person of admiration and that equate the Pope and Trump? The scary thing is that the people polled and gave such answers are potential voters and jurors.

Yeah, if Hillary is the most admired woman on Earth, women haven't really done shit worth admiring, it would appear.

St Hillary is more admired than Mother Teresa! Alleuia!

Killery gives great Stand Down Orders with executive force and effect. If anything works it can be killed. Then for a massive bribe The Foundation can grease the skids for the game to go on and on. That is hard work. Rest is then needed.

Wild and crazy Trump actually proposes attacking the sources of the problems which ends the problems, which is suicide to the political class's careers.

Admired by Americans, that is, not admired by the world.

Admiring is a silly business.

"Favorite Person" would be a more accurate description. Or perhaps "person you first think of when asked to say who you admire". Or even "person you think it's safe (or socially acceptable) to tell pollsters you admire".

"Most admired" is something completely different -- it should be the person most universally admired. Why, when I really work at it, I've managed to admire two or even three people at the same time. You don't have to pick whether Harriet Tubman or Barry Marshall or Norman Borlaug is worthy of admiration -- you can admire all three. It seems like there must be *someone* who is admired by more than 13% of Americans. Oprah Winfrey? Ayaan Hirsi Ali? The Dali Lama? Peyton Manning? Stephen Hawking?

The Admiring Business is silly indeed theses days . It is the Patriarchy in action...men seeking approval from their fathers.

I'll be amazed if Billary's criminal activities are ever heard by a jury.

Obama is #1. He got 13%.

17%

So people admire politicians and religious hucksters. Sad.

"Because the plain people are able to speak and understand, and even, in many cases, to read and write, it is assumed that they have ideas in their heads, and an appetite for more. This assumption is a folly."

Derbyshire admired the grace of Lee's surrender to Grant.

What do black kids admire today?

Polling as ignorance index. Hell, that's probably the essence of polling.

Is this "world" opinion like the world series, comprised of one huge republic alone?

I suspect Obama and Hillary would garner higher percentages in a "least admired" poll.

"The personal is dead in Russia," said the Bolsheviks. But Doctor Zhivago refused to see it that way as long as Lara was alive somewhere.

Can we still admire a Zhivago?

Well I'm Catholic and if this Pope keeps up his 'global warming' shtick
I'm gonna have to wear a bag over my head.

Not surprising Trump is even.
