Bernie Sanders was appalled by "the mass of hot dazed humanity heading uptown" for another day of "moron work, monotonous work."

"'The years come and go,' Mr. Sanders wrote, in all apparent seriousness. 'Suicide, nervous breakdown, cancer, sexual deadness, heart attack, alcoholism, senility at 50. Slow death, fast death. DEATH.'"

From a NYT article — linked today at Drudge — titled "Bernie Sanders’s Revolutionary Roots Were Nurtured in ’60s Vermont." I love the photo. I'm sure I would have had a crush on him back then. It was very typical for younger people of that time to regard ordinary middle-class people going to work as shuffling, horrifying zombies.

"How did socialism become a bad word? Being anti-social is nearly synonymous with a defective disposition toward base criminality. While that would explain many of the personalities that frequent this site and others like it, that they think they can get away with openly justifying it is curious."
So they are socialists beciase they are not anti social? They're NICE? theyre SOCIABLE?
If they define themselves that way, perhaps it show a bit of bias on their part?
But is that why socialists call themselves socialists? Because they consider themselves social? How ridiculous.
No, it's because they Rhein the workers should owns the means of production. They don't create the production. They appopriate it from people who built it. Not exactly social.

What a fucking detestable idiot. I assure you that when my parents immigrated to the US and worked 12+ hrs a day as janitors and at commercial laundries that they would have *loved* to have put on suits and done that "monotonous work." The reality of life for 90% of humanity involves "moron work." And yet it's work that has to be done, both for the sake of civilization and for the workers who are trying to put food on the table. Only a soulless asshole would think about work (and workers) this way. Goddamn, I didn't think it was possible for me to dislike Sanders even more, but damn. What a creepy fucking asshole.

Well if that's not the worst argument yet for one's own planned economic obsolescence I don't know what is! "Make work more drudging, menial and only marginally useful," cried the anti-socialist!

You guys should watch Undercover Bosses.

Bernie is a dingbat from the 60s as is John Kerry. Don't expect anything useful from either of them unless you are a Fascist, Communist, Marxist or an Iranian.

As stupid as Ritno is, anyone who can't see John Boehner being the greatest spender in the history of spending (both real terms/adjusted for inflation debt/deficit in the history of man regarding other-than-an-obscurity-which-means-nothing-even-if-I-were-to-become-aware.

John Boehner is the country will default and fuck itself; Ritno demanding more spending is just what it is and has nothing to do with John Boehner's budgets and running of his "4th branch" of our government.

Hate Boehner and give two shits about Ritno is a strategy with a low likelyhood of success yet Ritno begs of you to not attempt anything than Anti-Protein Wisdom Truth like you engage in every second responding to or thinking of him.

I am guilty (but Catholic...)

That was likely only typical for rich hippies.}

Most of us were neither.

@Beth, good point. It especially calls to mind folks like Bill Ayers, whose dad was CEO of the Chicago electric power utility. I recollect that most of the Weather Underground came from very serious money.

You should maybe try and leave the goal posts where they are every once in awhile.

BTW What's your high paying, exciting, madeup for the internet, occupation?

No, it wasn't.

R&B told me that he is going to find a small-town Fourth of July parade today and mock the disabled vets. There's no stopping ol' R&B when he gets on a tear like this.

I think that C.S. Lewis had people like Boehner in mind when he wrote "Men Without Chests."

Well lets have fun with this.

Register as a "D" and do everything in your power to bring Bernie in as the candidate for the election. Blog about him, volunteer, go door to door, get other Democrats to donate, bring up his name at every opportunity...

First off, an internal war would drive the Dems bonkers, and second, while you may be the public face of Bernie Sanders, in the privacy of the voting booth, you can make your own choice.

Win/Win really

. . . be sure to mention "Sanders honeymooned in Moscow!" as though that's a good thing.

I'm a libertarian (one of those weirdoes who believe their leaves and property belong to themselves, and not to garage mahal or Robert Cook); but as someone who has toiled in the corporate vineyards for most of his life to support a writing habit, I can agree that mainstream office life is the Realm of the Dead. It would just be worse under State-socialism. You're free to drop out of capitalism; try doing that with statism (and let me know how that goes, in about 10 to 20 years). Rememeber Lundgren, the awful boss in OFFICE SPACE? State socialism would be Lundgren (or worse) with a truncheon in one hand and a gun in the other.
