"Sadly, the creator of Ryan Gosling Won't Eat His Cereal has died."

"Happily, Ryan Gosling does the best tribute evar," I found out at Metafilter.

Here's the original "Ryan Gosling Won't Eat His Cereal" (from a couple years ago):

And here's the tribute:

More detail at "Know Your Meme," including the name of the man who made the original videos, Ryan McHenry, and the cause of death, bone cancer. McHenry died on May 3rd, and "On May 4th, Ryan Gosling launched his first personal Vine, which consisted of himself eating cereal." There aren't many things that are simultaneously so funny, sad, sweet, and internet.

Meme comments are mean comments.

It is internet, isn't it?

I have come to appreciate Ryan Gosling in recent years - but this raises my respect for him to another level.

Showing appreciation and tributes to people you don't personally know is a recognition of humanity all too rarely observed.

I'm in love with this.

That's the only Ryan Gosling movie I've ever seen, but he's sort of my favorite actor now.

Crazy, Stupid, Love. he was awesome. Not to mention "the Notebook" "Half Nelson" and many others. I think he is a totally stand up guy.

However.

Are there no black actors that won't eat their cereal?

Are there no gay actors that won't eat their cereal?

Starting a meme with white actors is safe; try starting a meme with a gay black actor that doesn't instantly get Social Justice Pushback and what do you have?

Stop" don't bring up Urkel.

Black Actor Meme that doesn't have Samuel Jackson?

I'm sure it exists.

With the tiniest of click counts.

I am Laslo.

Laslo Spatula said...

I'm sure Samuel Jackson would've done an 'eating cereal' tribute if only there was a "Samuel Jackson Won't Eat His Cereal" website, and the creator of that website died.

I bet Spike Lee would've directed it.

Meanwhile, the guy who set up the website "Ryan Gosling Won't Lick My Balls" died and no one seems to give a fuck.

Hypocrites.

I am Laslo.

The creator of the "Ryan Gosling Fucked My Girlfriend" site also died.

After his girlfriend proceeded to fuck Ben Affleck.

I mean: Ryan Gosling -- I get it. But Ben Affleck?

Ben Affleck: this generation's George Hamilton, without the stupendous tan.

I am Laslo.

Where was this shot?

More specifically, what is the name of the building behind the cereal bowl, and through the curtains while the milk pours??

It looks like an American flag, and it appears to be a civic landmark. Somebody should recognize it.

Lastly, I can with resemblance of decent-yet-unknown-carefreeness declaim, again:

Althouse teaches.

Anymore it's and its dishonorable; save Althouse.

Cool. Rudolph Vallentino has been gone for quite a while. Glad you could get over it.

I wish they'd go into more detail than just "bone cancer" at 27. I don't know why ppl are so secretive about causes of death esp. whwn it us cancer. He only lived two years from diagnosis. Why? I want to know more. I kniw it us private, but so many others are in similar situations.

I've been a Ryan Gosling supporter since the first movie I saw which was rather obscure. It wasn't the Notebook anyway...something with Anthony Hopkins. He was my version of Laslo's ScarJo for a few months somewhere along the way.

Lars and the Real Girl is great, but you should see him in something else first to fully appreciate it. I liked The Believer quite a bit, of course I was much younger then.

Why does this now-dead person owe people in similar situations any information at all?

There is such a thing as privacy.
