That's really appalling. I mean, fine, the man may or may not believe in the Resurrection of Christ. Most likely, he believes that it's a nice metaphor for our human ability to overcome adversity.
But to think this is an appropriate way to greet Christians on their most holy of holidays?
Actually, I shouldn't have typed "He." I don't think it was him, but whoever manages the White House Facebook account. The video is about two and a half minutes long and includes nods to all sorts of identity groups, including Christians. But here's the quote the account manager chose to highlight:
"I hope that among our many blessings, we pause and give thanks for the chance to live in a country where everyone has the right to worship and pray and love as they choose." —President Obama on celebrating Passover and Easter.
Let's give them the benefit of the doubt, and just maybe it's the foot of the table. But, still, Valerie Jarrett? Do these people have absolutely no sense of optics at all?
It should be maybe a rabbi. Or, probably, since the White House is, after all, President & Mrs Obama's home, it should be one of them. If one is Jewish, one cannot go to Seder in the home of a gentile and then bump the husband & wife out of their place of honor simply because they are gentiles. If you want the head & foot of the table to be reserved for a Jewish husband & wife, well, then host your own damn Seder.
I'm guessing there won't be a picture of him with nubile virgins on the next Muslim holy day? He will school us in reverence and respect for the religion of peace, I'm sure.
O the depths of the stupidity, both of the irony and idiocy of The Administration. How inscrutable are their photo ops and unfathomable their captions.
Christians are being beheaded, cut into pieces, and burned alive in the Middle East, and the leader of the (largely Judeo-Christian) world takes the occasion of Easter to try to act cool and funny. There is no point in trying to figure out where to start with this man, as he is a total do-over.

Stupid picture but Mark Zuckerberg liked it.

From the comments "A fictional character that promises much hope and joy at Easter.
And, on the left, the Easter Bunny".
Ha!
Wow he's so cool and irreverent and funnee.
The bunny's brought us something with big ears that's chocolate-colored... and hollow.
Who'll dare be the first to stop applauding?
Did you read his Easter message quote out on Facebook yesterday? He trolled anti gay marriage people.
Jesus Loves You, President Obama!
( the rest of us think you're an asshole )
Mr. Colby -
Great poster!
Click the photo over to the next image of the Passover Dinner.
Look who is sitting at the head of the table.

@EDH,

The President, like Althouse, loves to troll his own blog.

At the Seder, Obama bares his teeth.
It's out of frame, but they're holding hands. Right?
No Harvey/Mr. Dobbs references?
Spookie. In a Donnie Darko kind of way.
It's Obama and the Palestinian jihad bunny admiring Iran's nuclear warhead.
Are Obama's supporters ever disturbed by hs narcissism? Do they even notice?
I can see why a child like Zuckerberg liked it.
Best Comment: A fictional character that promises much hope and joy at Easter.
And, on the left, the Easter Bunny.
Hey, it's only Easter and Passover. Not like it's the Persian New Year.
The smart one is on the left.
must...hate...on...everything...little...thing.
