It's been 80 years since you could look at the Capitol Christmas tree from 80 feet up in the dome.

There's a new plexiglassed-in place what is called the "trumpeter’s ring" 6 floors up in the Wisconsin Capitol.

The new viewing station has been open since June. When the Christmas tree goes up on Monday, you'll be able to view its top at eye level.

Uh, I think Holiday Tree.

Separation of Church and Tree my dear.

You tree killers up there in Madison would make a smaller carbon footprint to just leave the tree in place after cutting it down.

Not much respect for Mother Gaia.

I see where a fellow in Austin, TX fired "100+" rounds at buildings in downtown Austin.

CNN verbally described the rounds expended as "hundreds" - that would be 200+.

CNN also speculates that the shooter was "anti-government." That's speculation.

How about that other recent anti-government violence, which involved hundreds of people and millions of dollars property damage.

The folks rioting in St. Clair County, MO and other places seem clearly to be protesting the Government's decision to no-bill the policeman.

Why is this not reported as anti-government riots?

One can still go higher in the capitol dome — to the very top and look down thru the "oculus." That's the round dish (for lack of a better word) that actually floats above the rest of the dome below it. There's a space maybe 2or 3 feet between the oculus and the dome itself. A winding, metal staircase takes you over the dome to the oculus. The dome you see inside floats inside the outer dome. The staircase ( I think several) run between the inner and outer domes.

Let me guess, this is Walkers fault and is done on the backs of the proletariat!

@Blaska

I did that at St. Peter's Cathedral in Rome, and it was terrifying. To look down and see no structure anywhere under you... that was the worst acrophobia I have ever experienced.

When was the last time trumpeters played up there?
