Madonna's daughter Lourdes will attend her mother's alma mater — and mine and my mother's — the University of Michigan.

"I want my daughter to go to school there," Madonna said."I keep telling her, Ann Arbor is an awesome place."

I agree, at least it was the last time I was there, in 1977. My mother grew up on South Division Street, a couple blocks from campus.

It's also where Iggy Pop went to school...for a semester or maybe a fraction of a semester.

I just think it's hilarious that she's been raised to be celebrity royalty for her entire life and the moment she comes of age someone with almost exactly the same name appears out of literally nowhere to become one of the most famous musical artists in the world. Ha-ha. Sorry 'bout that, Lourdes.

"Ann Arbor is an awesome place."

Yeah, it's because of all the Diversity there. The Diversity of Michigan, we call it it.

Why does Madonna say b**ch in all her Instagram posts?

I understand very little about pop culture.

@Kevin Yeah, I noticed that, too.

Hah. Madonna is probably more annoyed than Lourdes.

We have an office in Ann Arbor and reference those employees as "other".

Go outside of Ann Arbor 5 miles or Madison and you are in Duck Dynasty.

Thanks for the post. I am writing this from Ann Arbor, doing apartment hunting with my oldest daughter who will be in graduate school there in the fall, and leaving Madison.

Titus you don't know shit about Ann Arbor. Washtenaw county (AKA,"the Ann Arbor metro area") is 67 percent Democrats and above average income ones at that.
Tits.

TRIGGER WARNING please! That gaping hole in her black panyhose is giving me drunken, popper-laden flasbacks to my 80's dance club days.

Does she have the grades?

I lived in A2 for six years in the 80s and 90s; it's a great place.

Full disclosure: My older brother attender U-M the same time as Madonna, in 1976.

Ann Arbor's gross-sorry.

I've read that Madonna doesn't want her children going into show business, so I doubt that it bothers her that there is another Lourdes that has made it big.

Greatest football helmets in the history of sports. Also greatest fight song. And greatest football stadium.

But the team hasn't been very good in awhile.

ANN,

GO BUCKEYES! Lourdes is going to miss out on attending a really exciting educational institution: THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY. Located in Columbus, Ohio. Columbus is the largest small town situated on planet Earth. Columbus is bigger than Ann Arbor, MI and Madison WI combined. The city of Columbus is bigger than Boston. And, its climate is warmer than Ann Arbor's climate. And, unlike Madison, Ohio is benefiting from shale oil and gas drilling. The government is benefiting from increased tax revenues which means more money for tOSU. And that means more programs of instruction, better facilities and more scholarship money. GO BUCKS. BTW, we own UM in CFB.

All I want to know is after she becomes a legal adult will she take a series of nude pictures all over town and publish a book? Not that I'd buy it, I'm just curious about what is considered iconic enough to morally degrade in AA.

I graduated from the University of Michigan in 1983. I loved every single day of my undergrad experience at the U of M, and getting to live in Ann Arbor. I used to buy my SF and fantasy paperbacks at this little book store called "Borders", when there was only one of them.

It's a good thing Madonna is filthy rich, she can afford to pay for the outstate tuition there.

Madonna's only 55 years old?

I guess it's true when they say "It's not the years, it's the miles"
