It must be so annoying to Democrats that this idiot .1%-er Donald Sterling stepped on the Cliven Bundy, Republican racist
But Tomasky is right, I think, to say Sterling sure wasn't much of a Democrat.
The guy is a billionaire, yet he's only on record giving $5,000 to Gray Davis in 2002 and $2,000 to Bill Bradley in 1989. In my book, that makes Sterling just not a political donor at all. How does a guy with that much money avoid getting hit up more than once a decade? He must be fiercely resistant to giving money. I'm not even a millionaire and I gave $500 to Russ Feingold in 1992. Does that make you see me as a Democrat? It was more than 20 years ago!
Yes, but $5,000 to Gray Davis 2002. It seems to me that back then, liberals were irked at Davis for being too conservative. That link goes to Wikipedia, which footnotes a San Francisco Examiner article from February 2000 titled "Liberal voters souring on Davis":
"It's a good point when people say, 'Is he a Democrat?' " said Kitty McKnight, a high school teacher and delegate from Pasadena. "I suspect some of us who may be considered progressive, maybe even a little radical, are a little uncomfortable, to put it kindly, are very uncomfortable with some of the decisions he's made."And as long as we're looking back, in the late 80s, Bill Bradley was a policy wonk Senator who specialized in tax reform and voted for Reagan's spending cuts. In the 2000 presidential election, Bradley ran to the left of Al Gore. Sterling didn't give him any money then.
Union members, who worked harder than any other constituency to elect Davis, found themselves passing out flyers at the convention targeting the governor for his failure to give home health care workers an adequate raise. "Governor Davis has the wrong budget," they read.
"It is surprising," said Jeanine Meyer Rodriguez with the Service Employees International Union, which was passing out the flyers. "We have been doing this so long under Republicans and then we really pinned our hopes on Gray Davis. We really thought he got it, and it's startling to us that he really didn't understand it fully."
So I'm not buying this Sterling, the racist Democrat meme, but I'm happy to see it undercut the Cliven Bundy, the racist Republican meme.

well said, bravo
He doesn't have to be a big donor. The point is, he's a Democrat.
Typical racist Democrat.
(Actually, I have my doubts about just how racist he is - look at his actions vs. his words).
The only reason his party affiliation matters at all is because of the self-righteous arrogance of the left who pretend they are not racists while they compulsively slime conservatives as racists. In reality only the most evil sort of racists would deliberately stoke racial hatred for their own political advantage like the left does. If he had ever donated to a Republican the left would be all over it like maggots on a carcass.
Monetary donations are just a proxy for someone's political orientation. The fact that he gave money exclusively to Democrats even in the past is probably is an indication of his party preferences. The fact that the donations were long ago does leave open the possibility that he has changed although that is unlikely since he has no history of donations to Republicans.
"I'm not even a millionaire..."
At your age and past earnings?
This is either incorrect or sad.
"He wasn't much of a Democrat" is kind of irrelevant, isn't it? The point is, if he were exactly the same except a Republican, we'd know his party affiliation before we knew his name.
Republicans wouldn't care at all what party he supported but for the fact that the left makes politics paramount in all things and bash Republicans for the slightest missteps (and aren't above inventing missteps when they can't find any).
Tomasky may be right, but he is also disingenuous. It's a little distasteful to give credence to his rationalization when you know full well he wouldn't be doing it if Sterling were the same in all things but a Republican.
Let the guy alone.
It's a free country.
Neither is Barack Obama.
So?
If you long ago realized that white, middle-class liberals have a deep, profoundly vicious kind of racism, then Sterling's party affiliation will neither surprise you or seem worth mentioning.
Why the President should stoop to comment on a probably drunken, surreptitiously recorded, fight between an 80 year old lecher and his 30-something paid girlfriend, is beyond me...
How many days in a row did MSNBC hosts have him on? 5 like Hannity?
What major left Senators championed his cause?
The difference is not the donors, the difference is what people in power themselves said about this guy. Cruz and Paul defended him as a kind of hero.
So I'm not buying this Sterling, the racist Democrat meme, but I'm happy to see it undercut the Cliven Bundy, the racist Republican meme.
Yes, that's exactly why this is being employed.
On top of all the other stories about X, the "republican " domestic terrorist/shooter. Such as the one terrorism expert Peter Bergen wrote a few weeks ago. They aren't true, but that isn't enough to stop them. Maybe stuff like this Sterling claim will help.
@persiflage mahal/
Hate to be a pedantic peckerwood but by grade-school grammer says it's "either/or" or "neither/nor.."
I really do think a decent country shouldn't listen to surreptitiously recorded private conversations.
Yes, your donation made you a Democrat. No surprise for a law professor. Sterling is not the only nasty Democrat. There are plenty of them.
Donald Sterling's always been into Donald Sterling -- the fact he was willing to have the worst-run franchise in the NBA for 30 years while steadfastly refusing to take any outside advice on how to improve the team showed that well before this kerfuffle ever came up.
But since the Democrats' game plan is to tar all Republicans as being in completely agreement with their fringe members, as with the Cliven Bundy case, or assume that someone has to be a Republican before the facts are in, as with the Gabby Giffords shooting, you're naturally going to get that same sort of hyperbole thrown back at you when someone like Donald Sterling shows up.
It's actually kind of appropriate here that Sterling owns and NBA team, because Tomasky -- who's overt bias ruined the political column at New York Magazine 15 years ago when he was given the job -- wants to basically treat politics as sport, and as if he's Vinnie from the Bronx calling some overnight show to complain about the other team's fans or the league office picking on one of his team's marginal players. In Micheal's mind, all the players on his team's bitterest rival are overrated cheats who are probably figuring out ways to deliberately injure his team the next time they meet, while his team is full of Hall-of-Famers who are always giving 110 percent and would never bend the rules or do anything scandalous. He's a political writer with the intellectual maturity of a 13-year-old.

Answer: Because he is not really your President, he's a community organizer, and this is what they do.
My impression is that the assertion that he is a Democrat by the conservative press was for the most part helpful corrections made in reaction to the false claims that he was a Republican. See e.g., Paul Begalia's tweet that Instapundit highlights this morning.
SBG,
"Why the President should stoop to comment on a probably drunken, surreptitiously recorded, fight between an 80 year old lecher and his 30-something paid girlfriend, is beyond me…"
400 years of a racist country's bullshit and you STILL don't get it?
Wow - some whites ARE truly historically clueless,...
I think he probably holds some racist views. He's 80, after all. What do his actions say, however? Or are we to toss him out because of these words?
I consider the possibility that during a fight he's being deliberately antagonistic towards his girlfriend to make her aghast. I know that if I were angry and in an argument, I'd say things that I know would inflame my opponent. And if they're super touchy on racism, why not use that tool? Does that make me racist, or just someone who (like all little brothers) knows how to push someone else's buttons?
Ship him off to a re-education camp.
That the NAACP was about to award him a Lifetime Achievement award is a greater indictment of the left than if Sterling were the tail-end of the DNC donkey mascot.
"Yes, your donation made you a Democrat."
I was a young law professor at a law school where Feingold's father had taught, and RF was calling us up and talking to us at length, and he had called me more than once, and I did not want to part with any money, but it became easier at some point to give than to say no, and $500 was the amount which, if I gave that much, I'd be in some special women's advisory group, so I gave that much. I never went to any of the group's meetings and never felt that I had anything I wanted to say to Feingold, even though I'd bought into the access. I was genuinely not too political in the political party sense. I was very big on feminism, in the radical way in which one did not trust any of these institutions.
It's not just the conservative press.
Why Is the NAACP In Bed With Donald Sterling
Money! Money! You sold that award for money. Shame, shame, shame and shame.
And that headline is awesome. Kudos!
i think him being honored by the naacp makes him a man of the left....
NAACP refers to colored people which is, of course, racist. It should really be the NAAAA.
Ramzpaul
Someone linked a 2009 article the other day with lots of racist Sterling quotes. Now I can't find that link. He was a known racist. Why in the world was the NAACP ready to honor him?
He said she could fuck blacks so I think he probably isn't racist.
Maybe it's a plea for black people to improve their sexual morals reputation.
A favor.
Steve Sailor has an interesting post about the (illegal) taping. He thinks the "girlfriend" set Sterling up. That the conversation was staged to get the answers the girlfriend wanted.
Then, as with the Bundy comments, it was selectively edited and leaked to make Sterling look as bad as possible.
http://isteve.blogspot.com/2014/04/world-war-another-adventuress-plays.html
Why, one might ask? The usual answer, for the money.
Sterling's wife of 50 years is suing the girlfriend for the return of the loot Sterling has given her over the past couple years. Loot that includes 1 ferrari, 2 bentleys, 1 land rover, 1.8 million he gave her to buy an apratment, $240,000 in cash and so on. Under CA community property law, half of that is the wife's.
http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-sterlings-wife-describes-girlfriend-as-gold-digger-in-lawsuit-20140426,0,4883913.story#ixzz303VVWzl4
Not a bad payday and if I paid a hooker that much (face it, this is what the girlfriend really is) I would expect some exclusivity. Expect Hell, I'd demand it.
The hooker threatened to get even for the wife suing her and this is apparently it.
John Henry
Also, it appears that Sterling may actually be a racist.
He has been fined in the past for racial discrimination in who he rents to.
John Henry
Dems: Own it, bitches.
You think you can make a go of being a middling franchise owner playing in a stadium 2 blocks away from Martin Luther King Boulevard in South Central LA and get the insider deals and community/taxpayer concessions you need to run an NBA team if you're a Republican?
It's time we had a national conversation about California racists.
One man says someone stupid.
Libtard response: LET'S DESTROY HUNDREDS OF JOBS!!!!!
Boy, I haven't kept up with the Bundy saga, but is he an avowed Republican as "asserted" by the Professor. Has his donation history been explored? I truly don't know and can't assert!
This Sterling idiot has a long legal history of racism! EVERYONE knew he was a racist! The employees that are now outraged cashed the checks! Elgin Baylor cashed the checks for 22 years and then sued the old fart! NAACP has honored the guy!
OH MY GOD! A racist said something racist, AGAIN!
Local sports radio today were on Mark Cuban for refusing to comment about Sterling! Cuban comments on everything!
The hunt for racists seems a lot like what I imagine the hunt for communists was like back in the 1950s.
Well it is the NATIONAL Basketball Association. So Nationalize the Clippers. Cut the comrade player's salaries to barely enough to live on and quadruple ticket prices. Then it will be called Great Patriotic ObamaBall and stop Global Warming.
Sterling/Silver show will begin for real as soon as the National Sponsors start pulling ad revenue.
This is what happens when a political party like the Democrats aligns itself with the Ku Klux Klan for over a century. Some of their older folks never quite get the memo.

What's your phone number?
The left regularly accuses the right of being completely motivated by racism, despite a severe lack of evidence. Everything they say, is steeped in the right's hatred of minorities. Their proof? Mere disagreement. That's why they've made up this complete bullshit idea of "coded language" - because the lack of evidence means the right must be secretly communicating its racist ideas some other way. Same goes for white privilege and institutional racism. They're fucking liars who will do anything to hold power, including falsely accusing others of holding beliefs they hold.
So don't give me any bullshit that Sterling "wasn't much of a Democrat". He's a fucking liberal Democrat and a racist one. There's actual evidence of both. If a Republican said what Sterling said, he would be declared by the left and their media lapdogs as the face of the Republican Party, the spokesman of the Republican Party, and the soul of the Republican Party, etc. ZBut he's a liberal Democrat, so it doesn't count. Just like all the racism from Joe Biden and Harry Reid don't count. Just like Jesse Hymeetown Jackson and Al white interlopers Sharpton don't count.
The history of racism in this country tracks nicely with the history of the Democrat Party. From pro-slavery to jim crow to segregation to redlining to housing segregation to race riots to forced busing to race quotas - that's the Democrat Party's history.
Yet they act like everyone else is a racist. To sum up. Republican disagrees = racist. Democrat racist = doesn't count.
"I was a young law professor at a law school where Feingold's father had taught, and RF was calling us up and talking to us at length,"
In other words, a Democrat. It's OK. We forgive you.
That seems to have touched a nerve.
Right. The standard is simple.
Anyone who, at anytime in their life, can be shown to have any connection to the Republican party, no matter how nebulous, when a scandal breaks is a "life-long, ardent Republican."
Anyone who is even a sitting Democratic lawmaker, when a scandal breaks, either never has their political affiliation identified, or if unavoidable, then they are identified as "not very much of a Democrat, really more of a Republican."
Now you know one of the reasons he's a billionaire. He doesn't waste his money on politicians. He may be racist but he isn't stupid.

Fair enough. Now construe it into the Greek...
The NAACP doesn't give Lifetime Achievement Rewards to Republicans......The fact that he's cheap makes him more of a Democrat......It's his racism I question. His racial views while repulsive are hardly typical of most racists.
These are the people who kept Rush Limbaugh from owning a football team.
Why in the world was the NAACP ready to honor him? NAACP has already honored him!
CBS Sports:
According to the Clippers' website, Sterling has been honored by the NAACP in the past.
"He has received many honors, including the 2009 NAACP Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2008 BBA Humanitarian of the Year Award, and the 2008 NAACP Presidents Award."
So did Sterling hire minorities? Were they paid equally? That's all that really matters in the big scheme of things.
My guess is that there is more to this part of the story, but maybe not. The NAACP award is truly strange, given this guy's long term reputation. He has made his money in California real estate and law, which means that his influence buying is local. Think mayor's office, county government, city government.
Is he a Democrat? Mainly he's an opportunist, but you don't get to buy NBA teams and make billions in real estate without knowing how to navigate politics.
There are a lot of people hiding aspects of their relationship with this guy now. If the press does its usual job, we may never know what many of them are.
Sterling told his girlfriend he had been getting phone calls complaining about her Instagram postings.
If that's true, who was making those phone calls?
His best defense is that he was a coward, not willing to stand up to the racism of others when he should have.
This just in: Clippers Players Deposit Paychecks in Moving Protest
Donald Sterling own a major sports franchise is Los Angeles. Donald Sterling is a Democrat in a one-party Democrat city in a one-party Democrat state. Guaran-damn-ty you money has passed from his hands to his party out of sight, never mind undeclared donations "in kind" of comps, fundraising assistance etc.
And historically, Donald Sterling is a PERFECT Democrat in the best Jeffersonian tradition. What lave-owning Democrat didn't have an overlooked mistress of color on the inventory? What proud Democrat from the party's inception to LBJ to today didn't spew racist crap, most recently while professing to support people of color?
"Donald Sterling's always been into Donald Sterling -- the fact he was willing to have the worst-run franchise in the NBA for 30 years while steadfastly refusing to take any outside advice on how to improve the team showed that well before this kerfuffle ever came up."

No True Scotsman...
At least Obama has the self-preservation skills to not denounce Sterling's history as a terrible landlord, Tony Rezko wasn't that long ago.
Bundy is also "not much of a Republican" - but the press treated him as if he was on the RNC.
"Are all Democrats racist? Of course not.
But Democrats should repent of associating with anyone espousing or endorsing such incendiary nastiness. And championing lawlessness does nothing to elevate discourse, civility or any of the other higher roads to which we might more enthusiastically aspire.
The Democratic Party does not deserve to be indicted along with Stirling, but for too long the party has sown the wind by tolerating some of its less ennobled colleagues."
I might have changed some of Kathleen Parker's words...

Actually, I would argue that the Democratic Party is the racist party.
How are you "not even a millionaire?"
I have no idea what Meade brings to the table, but between your pension or 401k/retirement account, your home value, your possessions, and your income....and at your age, you are almost certainly a millionaire.
You may not FEEL like a millionaire, I understand, but I'm highly skeptical your net worth is below $1 million.
He isn't a Democrat? You mean the NAACP gives Lifetime Achievement awards to Republicans as well as Democrats?
I wasn't aware that Bundy was politically active, let alone a "republican".
I'm sure there is some factual basis for referring to him as a "racist republican".
I'm sure of it.

How did the African slaves get from the interior to the coast line and the waiting ships?
Do you not know, or do you dare not say?
Because in slavery, not un-like with illegal drugs, there are Suppliers and there are Users. Takes two to make a trasnaction.
For slavery, other Africans are the Suppliers, the Old South is one group of the Users.
Are you consistent in your outrage in both cases? Aren't the Suppliers a real problem, and where equal, if not the most, condemnation should reside?
Because I bet that for, say, the drug crack, you mostly bemoan the
harsh penalties visited on the Users.
Just the opposite of what you do for Slavery.
And let me beat you to your first likely dodge by saying, no, I am not EQUATING illegal drugs and slavery. Only a fool would not know that slavery is orders of magnitude the greater evil.
But hypocrisy on Suppliers versus Users - that is very relevant, since all you ever do is trash the Users.
Why are you in bed with Donald Sterling? It's a good question for his girlfriend to answer, and for the NAACP to answer.
Spike Lee once said that Hollywood isn't actually racist, the only color it sees is green.
Perhaps some organizations and people aren't worried at all about racism? And the only color they see is green, too.

I will admit that I wake up every morning feeling like a hundred dollars.
Last night on the NBC Nightly News there was a segment on this. They played the audio clip, they had a story on reaction by players and all kinds of people. And then, at the end, came this disclaimer: "NBC has not authenticated this audio."
As far as I can tell, neither has anyone else. In other words, everyone's jumping on the bandwagon calling this guy a racist when no one has actually determined whether or not he said what is being claimed by someone he's suing.
As far as I can tell, this has gone as far as it has because it gives the usual suspects a chance to jump up and call a billionaire who's dating a girl about 1/3 his age a racist.
I'll be glad to condemn this guy for his remarks - as soon as someone proves he actually said them.

Sterling is a registered Republican in LA County since 1998. Doh!
We’ve known for a long time that Donald Sterling is kind of a scumbag,
but he’s been able to buy indulgences from senior factions of the
Grievance-Industrial Complex, so he’s gotten away with it.
In fact, if not for this tape, Sterling would have gotten a "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the LA chapter of the NAACP on May 15th.
"I will admit that I wake up every morning feeling like a hundred dollars."
What happens if Althouse doesn't pay up?
Sterling has also donated to then-Senator Bill Bradley (D-NY), current Senator Patrick Leahey (D-VT) and then-Gov. Gray Davis (D-CA).
Not much, but there's no "R"s there.
Not only is Donald (Tokowitz) Sterling a liberal Democrat, he is a JEWISH liberal Democrat. That is his ethnicity, made relevant by the causes of his current infamy. By the current rules of discourse, public, and apparently private, of the United States, he is permitted to slam only other Jews. It would, of course, have been vastly more interesting if he had been recorded saying "I don't care if you fuck other Jews, but just don't bring them to the games."
The guy is a billionaire, yet he's only on record giving $5,000 to Gray Davis in 2002 and $2,000 to Bill Bradley in 1989
Actually, he is also on record giving the DSCC two max donations in 1988.
But hey, why bother with facts when you're so busy with that 'cruel neutrality' right?
Wow, so glad to discover that "Affirmative Actio" is a fantasy, not a reality, and that no Democrats support it.
Because "Affirmative Action" is all about judging people "by the color of their skin", not "the content of their character".
So it's teh epitome of racism, and anyone who supports it is a racist.
Democrats, as a class, can be accused of denigrating individual dignity; but, they cannot, as a class, be accused of "racism" or a similar prejudice. Even if it was a prominent feature in their past, it is not part of their present recorded character. So, this prejudice can be attributed to individuals, and judged on that basis.
Republicans, or perhaps conservatives, on the other hand, cannot as a class or individuals exhibit this type of prejudice as a matter of principle. This begins with acknowledging intrinsic value, and ends with respecting individual dignity. It is established as a legal mandate with equal protection.
would people jump on the Sterling is a Racist Democrat meme if the press, and every liberal propaganda organ, but I repeat myself, hadn't jumped on the Cliven Bundy is a Racist Republican meme? Or worse, the Cliven Bundy is a Racist Tea Partier with Guns!!!11!! WHO SPEAKS for ALL CONSERVATIVES meme?
I suspect not.

I smell a little 'let's circle the wagons' going on.

I love how suddenly, when you expose a liberal for being caught int he racist game, why, he is either a Republican liberal (Even though he donates to Democrats) or, it doesn't matter, because it's the only time ever in the history of the United States that a liberal has ever been caught doing anything or saying anything remotely racist.
I'm convinced the Democrats continue to get elected for two main reasons.
1) Low information voters
2) Voter Fraud
I kind of feel bad for "bitch-ass white bread rednecks" taking the blame for him... because a redneck he ain't.
Bigotry, whatever the form, is immoral. It is a character flaw. Whether Bundy or Sterling, left or right, wherever, whoever, whenever.
It is pathetic to watch the mindless defense of political dogma, no matter the issue. Thinking or feeling is apparently not an option for the dogmatic.

Hannity: Senator McCain, another moderate Republican who likes to work with Democrats has come to light. Perhaps you have heard of him, he is the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers.
McCain: Ummm, well, no not really.
Hannity: Yes, here are his remarks (Play clip).
Hannity: Do you repudiate those comments as Racist, Senator McCain?
McCain: Why! Of course! I never! That's just dispicable and horrible and has no place in our political discourse. For shame!
Hannity: Senator McCain, are you then distancing yourself from these racist comments uttered by a Moderate Republican who likes to reach across the aisle and work with Democrats?
McCain: Sputter, stammer, hiccup.

Yeah, the defenders of civil rights defeated their cause several decades ago. Instead of standing for individual rights, they chose to isolate and exploit class rights, thereby denigrating individual dignity. Their human rights counterparts lost legitimacy when they chose to rationalize and support the abortion/murder cause, thereby devaluing human life. There are few people of virtue in the "rights" circles.
While the US has a lot to apologize for regarding slavery, we didn't invent slavery or even black slavery and were far from the worst practitioners.
It is estimated that in the thousand years between about 900-1900 about 100,000,000 blacks were exported from sub-Saharan Africa into slavery.
About 30-40mm of them went east to Turkey and Arab countries where their lifespan was 2-3 years at hard labor.
About 10mm went to South America and the Caribbean where their lives were not a lot better. Since they were relatively easy and cheap to replace, due to physical proximity, they tended to be viewed as expendable and needed constant replacement.
About 1mm came to the US most between 1600 and 1800. Due to costs, they tended to be viewed as a capital asset and were cared for to maximize return on investment.
The other 50mm or so? Most died on the march north and out of Africa.
All of the blacks sold into slavery were captured and sold by other blacks. Often via Arab slave traders who set up slave trading posts in the interior.
John Henry
Virt
Crack, if you want to talk about slavery, let's start with where the word comes from "Slav".
Millions of whites were captured and sold into slavery in North Africa. So many that the names became synonymous.
Or treatment on the slave ships. Dispicable and horrible as it was, blacks were not the only ones.
For 75 years or so Britain shipped criminals (sometimes as young as 10 for stealing a loaf of bread) to Australia.
Read about how they were shipped. Pretty much the same as most of the Africa-US slave ships. Two big differences:
1) The prisoners might spend as long as 4-6 months on the prison hulk, chained to a pallet before it even got underweigh. Then the voyage from England to Australia was much longer than Brazil to the US.
2) The slave ship captain had an incentive to keep the slaves alive and (relatively) healthy so they could be sold. A dead or sick slave isn't worth much.
The prison ship had no incentive to keep the prisoners alive since any food they didn't consume was money in his pocket.
So don't go feeling all special about slavery just because you are black. Slavery has been a normal condition of human existence up to 1900 or so. In some cases it continues to this day.
All races have been enslaved at one time or another. All races have enslaved others at one time or another.
Join the crowd, Crack.

Here's another Huff Post piece on the NAACP and Donald Sterling, from 2009.
Man, that guy nailed it.
A democrat donor is a democrat. A racist is a racist. A racist democrat donor is a racist democrat.
I've known more than a few Democrats who have problems with racism, or gender bias, or homophobia. These are deep-seated biases, not a desire to exploit it in others as Republicans are sometimes accused of. These are elements of their personality that they try to hide, but then come out in funny ways. Like, the person who tells you all about his or her new co-worker, and then at the end of the description suddenly goes into a stage whisper and says, "He's black." Or the guy who takes another guy aside and says about some disagreement, "I think it's a 'woman thing.'" That's a racist and a sexist, but self-aware enough to know it's socially unacceptable. And they are mostly Democrats and/or, like Sterling, people who try to buy off any suspicions by giving large amounts of money to groups like NAACP, etc., and put in bids for Lifetime Achievement Awards.
So while I get Tomasky's point about the politics, he's way wrong about the psychology.
Agreed that his political party is pretty irrelevant. But here's some information for eric @ 1:03 and all the other conservatives ranting about low-information liberals: Sterling's a registered Republican.

African Americans have the highest standard of living of blacks anywhere in the world, despite the awful history of racism. That might be why "racists" in the US aren't beating themselves up.
The evil of slavery still exists today -- estimated about 30 million people are slaves. But the worst offenders by far are countries where the predominant race is black or brown, so discussing it might get you accused of racism or maybe Islamophobia. /sarc
If Sterling had said, "I don't want you taking pictures with famous Jewish men" everyone would have understood his jealousy and no one would have accused him of racism, even if he were a self hating Jew. The Left loves self hating Jews, and they are mostly Democrats.
Still, Sterling is getting a huge lesson he deserves and that's a good thing from his soul's point of view. In fifty years of marriage his wife and children never did what his wonderful girlfriend has done to him. Her lawyer claims she didn't release the tape. Who did? Was it a set up with Magic Johnson so he could buy the team?
Well R. Chatt, I doubt that V. Stifiano would have showed up with Woody Allen!
Maybe it is just my "white privilege" talking, but this seems like a good way to counter racism.
It is a gesture that belittles and makes a joke of the racists throwing the bananas.
"the 30-year-old commented after the game: 'I don't know who threw the banana but I want to thank him. It gave me the energy to put two more crosses in for our goals.'

Do they throw bananas at black players at Brewers or Packers games? Do they make "monkey chants" the way they do in enlightened socialist Europe?
Meade - "I wake up every morning feeling like a hundred dollars."
What - green, wrinkled, and with traces of cocaine residue?
The guy who gave $1000 to aid a proposition that was popular enough to pass in a liberal state that voted for Obama is such a pariah that he lost his job. But a Democrat who donates more than that...nothing to see here.

Crack, if you want to talk about slavery, let's start with where the word comes from "Slav"
John,
If you want to talk to blacks, try not beginning by patronizing,...

Ort a registered Republican, doing business in California, where giving to Democrats makes good business sense if, like other racist Republicans, you want to run a "plantation style" operation.

Yeah - we only built this country under threat of white violence - nothing to get worked up over.
They're Nazis, I tell you,...
I did not know the NAACP gave awards to Republicans, let alone racist Republicans. Weird.

Hilarious.
How did Mother Jones get his home address?
At least Obama has the self-preservation skills to not denounce Sterling's history as a terrible landlord, Tony Rezko wasn't that long ago.
Valerie Rasputin Jarrett made Rezko look like a saint! Barry was knee-deep in Jarret slumlord dealings! Yet another Obama character that made him anything but a blank screen! Many were taken in by the blank screen rhetoric!

I followed the Mother Jones link but I don't see the proof. The screenshot they included has no personal info on it at all. It says "Registered Party: Republican" but does not display the name, address, nor date of birth. Am I missing something?
Ah. Here is a better screenshot than the Mother Jones one...

True, Woody Allen, is too Jewish looking and the mistress would never have showed up with him. That would have been a joke. But showing up with Adam Levine would have popped poppy's cork.
I have a hard time understanding the perpetual need to "get even" as not being a self defeating character defect, regardless of who the person is.
Yeah - we only built this country under threat of white violence - nothing to get worked up over.
You didn't build this country...the government built this country!
Hey I lost track, who's ahead. Anyone keeping score?
If the Democrats were smart--and sometimes they are--they got Move On to register him as a Republican. More dirty tricks.

Since Crack seems to be big on reparations, and since my ancestors were enslaved in this country first, I do believe he may owe me some money.
Where do I send the invoice, Crack?
