Since we were just talking about Mary Burke this morning, let me also quote the last line of the linked article:
The Journal Sentinel's Dan Bice reported Thursday that after news of the domestic incident broke, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke gave a $4,500 contribution from Rottier to the Madison nonprofit Domestic Abuse Intervention Services.UPDATE: Rottier pleads guity, says he'd been drinking to deal with having cancer.

0.13 isn't very highly intoxicated (although 'later' is not quantified in the article).
Is his name Koch? If not, who cares?
So why did it take so long for this to hit the news?
One of the awesomest Dylan songs
Giving back the donation seems sort of meaningless if it's matched by a donation of equal or larger size from one of the other name partners.
It's not as if we don't know that Democrats (at least at the state and national level) can expect near-exclusive support the state's tort lawyers (including the ever-popular personal-injury lawyers, of course).
If the press had more guts and initiative it might ask why that is and even perhaps go into whether this is the best or even a good way to compensate victims of torts. But, alas, it has neither.
Did Walker give away the donations from the family that was poisoning Bald Eagles and other wildlife?
I haven't heard that he did. Wasn't much, but as we are linking people to dirty donors ....
Did Walker give away the donations from the family that was poisoning Bald Eagles and other wildlife?
No. And curiously, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel never reported that little tid-bit-- that the bald eagle-killing farmers have contributed to the GOP for years. Including Walker.
So Mary Burke was on the DAIS?

Then again, garage, green energy has killed more eagles recently than WI farmers have.
Strong finger or light cane?
All Scott Walker donors contribute to global warming while all Dem donors harmoniously create healthy carbon dioxide that nourishes plant life....or something like that.
With his bodyguards and silver cane and every hair in place
He took whatever he wanted to and he laid it all to waste
But his bodyguards and silver cane were no match for the Jack of Hearts.
Wisconsin Greens specialize in killing jobs, not eagles.
Its not hypocrisy if your side is right and especially if your running against an eagle killing, union buster that had sex in college.
Ma Barker.
"Wasn't much, but as we are linking people to dirty donors..."
We are?
Seems like Burke linked herself by making a show of needing to delink.
His pic looks like the actress in the movie Throw Momma From The Train.
Walker will beat Burke like a rented mule.
...Rottier, 62, arrived at his home drunk at about 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, a night he was supposed to take his kids to a movie.
From the age and paternal duty, I'm guessing the caning victim was a second, much younger wife. Marriage is the cause of all divorce, but a successful law practice is a second leading cause.
If you know what you're about, a hardwood cane can be a lethal weapon.
Hitting someone with a Charles Foster Cane would leave a helluva welt.
Apparently, fat, drunk and stupid is a rather successful way to go through life.
Then again, garage, green energy has killed more eagles recently than WI farmers have.
There is no green energy anywhere near the Sowinski fields. I grew up maybe 30 minutes away as the crow flies where these sadist fuckers were poisoning animals. Throwing bald eagles on a fire like a piece of wood? A lot has changed. I don't know what to say anymore.
Shit, garage. The EPA is giving wind farm operators a pass on killing bald and golden eagles. Why are you whining about bald eagles? If wind farms can do it, why can't farmers? At least they're producing something proven to be beneficial.
Why are you whining about bald eagles?
I'm not whining. Proceed, or no?
I don't mind any hideous pube donors but I abs deteste any thing that donates to a tard....it is so wrong and they are so awful and bad and evil and I am so offended I can't even deal.
I'm not whining
Tell yourself that
This "lawyer" is the President of a major Wisconsin law firm that no one seems to care about in media (or comments here, frankly) as he innoculated himself by donating $45000 to Dem. Burke for Governor. He probably gave same amount or more to Walker but - sadly - Madison media cares less
I was shocked at his picture in the news. So sad - his unfashionably long blond hair, his puffy face, the sadness of his wealthy Maple Bluff domestic life now becoming public in a humiliating way.
He is a MAJOR law firm mogul in WI? He's suffering a major fall from grace - but wait until his Walker donations go public.
It;s always the fall that can kill ya. Sad.
Sorry - TYPO - this law firm President only donated (as far as we know) $4,500 to the Democrat Mary Burke campaign. And somehow folks I do believe he (like every other law firm executive in WI) has equally donated in one way or another the same amount to incumbent Governor Scott Walker.
When will anyone really learn how politics work?

Wait, does this mean no Road Trip?
"If you know what you're about, a hardwood cane can be a lethal weapon."
The cane twirled by the actual man Bob Dylan wrote the song about only had a toy cane. From his obituary:
"William Devereux Zantzinger, whose six-month sentence in the fatal caning of a black barmaid named Hattie Carroll at a Baltimore charity ball moved Bob Dylan to write a dramatic, almost journalistic song in 1963 that became a classic of modern American folk music, died on Jan. 3.... Mr. Zantzinger was wearing a top hat and carrying a toy cane he had picked up at a farm fair. At the restaurant, he became disorderly, hitting employees with the cane, then left with his group after they were refused more drinks."
From my parody of Dylan's song:
He was 69 years old and never sued Bob Dylan
Who wrote a folk song that made William look evil
He was just raging drunk in a Baltimore Hotel
He had a toy cane that he'd bought at a farm fair
He ordered a drink from poor Hattie Carroll
And Hattie was slow and he stupidly hit her
But he didn't do anything that seemed it would kill her
Yet she suffered a stroke and she died the next morning
But you who philosophize disgrace and criticize all fears,
Take the rag away from your face.
Now ain't the time for your tears.
Forget it Jake, it's Chinatown

Probably because it was a $100. And really not pertinent. You are so pathetic.
I followed the link in the linked article to the Q&A that Mr. Rottier did with the capital times. This part caught my attention:
/start quote
CT: The federal courts operate with Daubert. What’s the difference between them and our state court system?
DR: The federal government is staffed probably 10 times better than our state courts in terms of U.S. attorneys, assistant U.S. attorneys, their civil branch, their clerical branch and the judges’ staffs. Federal courts are in a position to do this kind of thing. And most civil cases are not filed in federal court. They go to state court.
/end quote, emphasis added
I enjoyed the thought of a whole bevy of priests working for the federal courts. But then, the novice monk protagonist of The White Company is always referred to (sometimes sneeringly) as a clerk too. Interesting how that word's uses have diverged.
Good for Burke, turning lemons into lemonade.
