I glanced at Dowd today -- in what is either a Freudian slip or a deliberate dig she refers to the Clintons as the "roil" family. (I am presuming she means "royal.)
I live in Cambridge and last night for the first time I saw someone, obviously traveling through, with Louisiana plates and a confederate flag and a W2004 bumper sticker. The poor things were savaged by other drivers nearby. In a Missouri rodeo they would be heroes in elite Cambridge they were targeted for termination.
And hello? It's 2013 get a new car!
There are a million = bumper stickers here too usually driven by lesbians. And the minute I see the sticker and then look at the car I know if it is a man or womyn. Subaru is women and BMW is man.
As a conservative Californian, I would have sworn that multiple bumper stickers were the province only of left-wingers, since I never see otherwise. Of course, it should have occurred to me that the phenomenon I observed was more owing to where I live than to more reticence on the part of the right-wing bumper sticker crowd.
I think I may have to include bumper stickers in my rule of 3, which hitherto has applied only to cats and tattoos: namely, get more than 2, and you've made a lifestyle choice.
This may be a bit off topic and a tangent from Big Mike's comment, but I read a portion of MoDo's column today and was a bit surprised she is not on the Hillary band wagon with the rest of the MSM.
My 87 year-old mom drives a Lezbaru. It is bumper sticker free and she is not a lesbian but she would not argue with the notion that feminism is the radical notion that women are people. It is actually a radically conservative notion.
Ann, regarding your desire to visit a beach in winter, my wife and I were in Savannah, GA just before Thanksgiving last year and we spent some time down on the beach at Tybee Island. It was breezy and just cool enough (by our standards) to feel bracing as we watched the waves and followed the seagulls as they glided along the dunes. Few people around and it was very peaceful.

Bumper stickers are tacky and could open yourself up to damage to your car.
I am con bumper stickers.
@Big Mike Absolutely certainly intentional word play.
@Titus That's one of the reasons I've never had a bumper sticker on any car. The other reasons include:
1. It's messy looking.
2. You never know what might embarrass you later.
3. I've never had any message that I wanted to deliver via the back end of my car.
4. It seems pushy.
5. I'm not really the "opinion" type.

Any speculation as to why?
Dowd as been a suspicious of the Clinton's forever.
She dislikes them very much which makes her interesting.
I still would enjoy seeing/experiencing the two you biking along the dunes in Ptown. It is fricking amazing. You are at the tip of the U.S!

I'd like to go to an ocean beach again. But I would prefer to do it over winter break. Any suggestions?

Here in the People's Republic, conservative bumper stickers get your car keyed. That's why you never see them.
Because liberals are so tolerant.
