Considering all the scandals...

... why was nothing dropped yesterday? It's Saturday morning. I'm not seeing anything particularly bloggable. Whatever happened to the old Friday night document dump?

A Google news search on "IRS"... "IRS turns over video of employees line dancing to Congress"...

Googling "Eric Holder"... "Attorney General Eric Holder Tells Media Outlets Leak Guidelines Will Change"...

Googling "Benghazi"... "Officials instructed Benghazi hospital to list Stevens as 'John Doe'"...

ADDED: There's this:
The Internal Revenue Service has told House GOP investigators they have identified 88 IRS employees who may have documents relevant to the congressional investigation into targeting of conservative groups, according to a congressional source familiar with the investigation.

Posting the document dump is not a particularly uplifting? task these days?

Maybe it's Graduation weekend, and the propaganda guys all had to take a weekend off.

It feels like we entered the antsy interregnum between Basketball and NFL-College Football, or between normal Iranian sponsored Syrian Civil War and the coming Israeli-Russian showdown.

OKC's weather seemed to be the only news last night.

From the CBS News report on Benghazi:

"The reason for the pseudonym, says the official, was to avoid drawing undue attention to the importance of the victim as Americans rushed to figure out how to recover Stevens' body and return it to the U.S."

Ironic, that.

Not important enough to stop superiors from issuing the order(s) to stand down the rescue mission, but important enough to cause officials to ask the hospital to lie about his name.

On a side note, in a world of Venn diagrams, how many people fit that intersection?

The pro-democrat hack media, despite the smoke and mirrors, will always be the pro-democrat hack media.

They will always carry the corrupt water for Obama, Holder and Hillary and the rest...

Althouse: Whatever happened to the old Friday night document dump?

The documents they might dump are already being requested by Congress. And the administration probably knows their release would only lead to more requests for documents.

So stall stall stall and hope a natural disaster or terrorist attack comes along and takes the scandals out of the headlines.

Yes, how can the administration's friends in the media keep saying there's "no evidence" Obama was involved in the scandals if they release the evidence?

There is a lot of that going around.

I did hear reports from the breathless lockstep media that Social Security and Medicare are now solvent for 2 more years! and it's all because of O-care.

We are not able to fact-check the numbers because the 2 extra years are added onto some silly date in the future. But hey - lockstep media doing what they can for their precious.

The State-Aligned Media is in the bag 7 days a week now. No need to try and fool them on Friday. They'll hide the negative stuff themselves, automatically.

Noticed how little to no knee jerk reactions going on in the press regarding the scandals.

Its a near unanimous waiting for the facts chorus envious of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

There is peace at the knees.

April,
They are not "pro-Democrat hack media;" "hack media" perhaps, but they expect the Democrats to be pro them, without they necessarily being obliged to support the DNC.

The cover up starts here.

The longer we go without hearing Zero order the agencies involved to turn over the requested docs to Congress, the stronger his links to the scandals/felonies, informal or otherwise, will become. But, i do not think he has what it takes to admit the gravity of the situation and do the right thing by the American people. He would rather see the limited trust between government and the governed further and eventually fully eroded rather than take the short-term hit to his personal status.

Predictability. The weekend revelations occurred because they did not follow an established order. Now that a new order has been established, which is a superposition of the old order, they will need to establish a succeeding order to further inhibit awareness.

Perhaps they will now randomize the release of information. If nothing else it will be perceived as a natural process and diminish perception of events, and transgressions, as being conspiratorial. Their challenge is to manufacture a dissociation of actors, interests, and events, in order to maintain plausible deniability and separability for each.

There are bloody riots in Istanbul, which seem to be spreading throughout Turkey.

Russia is sending modern MiGs to Syria. If we were thinking about establishing a no-fly zone, between the MiGs and the SAMs Assad has received or will receive from Russia, we've probably dithered too long.

And a major bank just failed in Spain. I got that last off Al Jazeera TV news; there's nothing about it on any US channel or in CNN dot com. That might just be the first domino in the collapse of the Euro.

Enough bad news to start a Saturday morning, Althouse?

It's called "clamming up" for a reason. People in media are starting to pay attention to document dumps and now there's real concern this could cause harm to The One.

In lieu of documents, bombs were dropped by some drones in Yemen. I'm sure Obama did it with anguish, given his recent speech..

The fact that you were looking for a Friday doc dump is the reason there wasn't one. The whole point is to do it when nobody is looking. Friday night is now prime time. This administration has been providing so much juicy material for so long on Friday that the time slot has become "Must See Friday Night".

He found out about it in the papers, just like you. BTW, does anyone really believe that the President reads a newspaper? I haven't even seen one for over a year.

Hagar -I disagree. We are afforded evidence that the media are decidedly pro-one-party.

Every story that filters though is written from one side. The democrats are victims - the GOP are opportunists.

They are hacks. I place the two together to encapsulate what they are: The pro-democrat hack media.

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

Look how this story is spun.

It appears that Only the GOP cares about the IRS's excessive spending on lavish conferences... (the rest of you should not care because the GOP does care - you see) even though, as you read further down, the acting IRS chief admits "expenses associated with it were inappropriate and should not have occurred."

Look at the Title:

GOP says report will expose lavish spending at 2010 IRS conference

If the topic were about GOP malfeasance, the headline would read: "Report- Lavish spending should not have occurred" - party neutral.

The headline is pro-democrat hack spin.

Maybe they've moved it to Saturdays:

Now it's 88.

A few more details at Hotair.

(I thought those 2 guys in W Covington moved around a lot...)

Don't you think the rise of the blogosphere with talented amateurs who actually have more time to devote on weekends has made the Friday night dump a candy store for policy groupies?

At what point in the march of tyranny do you simply feel despair? What's the alternative? Take up a rifle and head to the town square? The only other thing we can do is vote. Sadly the choices, as ever, will be statist lite vs regular strength statist. At least until someone comes right out and says how they are going to go about dismantling the motherfucker. Oh, and whoever does it, will immediately be public enemy number 1.
