I'm not. Not after that many days, especially since he seem to have allowed toys, food, and medication for the boy to be dropped in. I think the boy was a pawn on a scenario that rapidly imploded on Dykes.

I suspect that the stress was taking a toll on his rather fragile psyche, and, he, too, may have been out of meds. I bet by the end he was just so incoherent & ranting that the cops had no idea of what he was going to do next.

Either that, or the fed-up cops had just worked out a good plan to end the stand-off, executed it, and Dykes was collateral damage.; 2/4/13, 9:28 PM
