Speaking of movies that are hurting the feelings of religionists...

The Weinstein Co. is taking precautions over the release of its movie "The Master" (in which Philip Seymour Hoffman plays a character based on Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard).

jr565 said...: By the way, when they say this is loosely based on Scientology it's not exactly true. There are so many details in this that are mirror images of L Ron Hubbards statements and history. In other words, this IS about Scientology. I'm sure Tom Cruise is going to be less than clear over the next few weeks.

Carnifex said...: Scientology doesn't have any atrocities to point to...yet. But give it time, it's a new religion. The LDS on the other hand, while being relatively young, has several they can point to with pride. Not on the scale of Christianity, or Islam, to be sure, but they've only been in existence for an eye-blink, not the centuries a good religion needs to build up the death toll.
