It does sort of go with him, along with the utter failure to accomplish anything. The left has never accomplished anything constructive. Starting with the French Revolution.
Slightly OT but apropos: The documentary Helvetica is a great exploration of the history and social impact of the world's most used sans serif font. It's on Amazon streaming video too.
The font used by Obama's campaign is not "Revolution Gothic" - it appears to be "PAG REVOLUCION" upon which "Revolution Gothic" is based.
The font is made by Prop-A-Ganda...
PAG REVOLUCION description:
"About this font family
Inspired by retro propaganda posters from the 60s to 80s. This is perfect font for your retrospective project.
in 2012, Extended and optimized for multipurpose font family named Revolution Gothic which has lowercase, multi-language accents, five weights and italics can be available from Flat-it type foundry."
The poster looks horrific. It just looks bad. It's like something Lileks would publish in a book about green shag carpet and flocked/metalic wall paper. The "Betting On" part makes me think of rusty metal Mobile Oil signs.
Maybe they were shooting for wholesome Norman Rockwell or something. But the last time around the Obama campaign used stuff with a Soviet vibe, so who can say.
What I do know, though, is if "we" complain that the retro is about the commie; if Romney used an obviously retro font it would be all about pre-civil rights nostalgia.
Maybe Obama needs to hire some old people with a clue.

Oh, good Lord is that ugly. Whose sucky idea was that?
wv: 118A thakpe. I'll say.
Betting on America: Hope and Chance.
Hillarious.
And "Betting on America"? Seems like we've gone from having Hope to having a gambling problem.
Nostalgia for the barbaric. And the aesthetic that goes with it.
What a shitty president.
Well, there goes the right-wing font geek vote.

They should use Comic Sans instead.
Chicago Cyrillic - just the thing.
Combine it with that cockamimi poster from last time around and he's ready for the purges.
The only question is who's Trotsky - Holder or Joe?
Tail fins.
Aluminum siding.
Bell Telephone.
Vote Progressive.
Remember when Obama's team was so on top of everything?
Yeah, that Big Lie isn't looking so good these days.
Now that Obama has endorsed gay marriage, he ought to adopt Neutraface font. (Hilarious video parody of Lady Gaga):
Neutraface
It was that or Comic Sans
One of these fonts might have worked.
For truth in advertising, Obama should use the Fail font.
Or the Full of Shit font.
So is the way Ben LeBolt answered BuzzFeed considered professional?
LaBolt's answer was pretty funny. It's not his fault he's surrounded by frickin' idiots.
Wing dings

Oh, and I googled Ben LaBolt to see if maybe he actually existed.
If that "e-mail" was posted on, oh, Ace of Spades I'd KNOW it was a joke.
Or the Onion.
It's so overwrought it's just got to be a joke.
Right?
Everything old is new again just MEANS something different when the people working for you are all teenagers.
Wow! Indeed, it is the whole revolution in the modern fonts world! thank you for sharing!
