ADDED: At the link at the link, there's talk of Tilted Kilt, whose CEO Rod Lynch who complains that the word breastaurant "implies that the company's success is based purely on sex appeal."
Rose Dimov, a 22-year-old waitress at Tilted Kilt, says her job is no different from any other waitressing gig; make guests feel special and ensure they have a good time. As an aspiring ballroom dancer, she also says she's not fazed by the revealing outfit that comes with the job. "Going to a restaurant should be an experience," Dimov says. "We're entertainers."Tilted Kilt — yes, we were talking about kilts yesterday, but remember when Tilted Kilt popped up in the Wisconsin protest story? Here's a Business Insider article from February 18, 2011.

Where will the next batch of heroic Dems legislators run off to if not The Tilted Kilt?
Is The Gobbler still around? Does this mean the end of Chi-Chi's?
God bless America. And boobies.
Chi Chi's is a breastaurant? It's been about 10 years since I was there, but I don't recall any unusually large or exposed breasts. Of course, I was probably preoccupied with my crappy margharita and vaguely Mexican entre.
Just hoping we don't over-reach and halt restaurants named after boobslang.
I refer to definition #3 in the Urban Dictionary.
Don't people ever learn? As long as women can make money off their looks; these places will exist. Sucks for the feminists who want to unite the sisterhood in boardroom testical smashing, but that's how it is.
Does one wait for seats in the milkbar?
We go to Brick House, but that's pretty much stopped being a breastaurant.
Nothing to offend anybody there, unless you're a Lefty and everything offends you.

Only in the sense chi chi means tit tit.
The Tilted Kilt in Madison closed, didn't it? Wasn't it on Odana across from West Towne? (I've only been to the Starbuck$ in that building)
A restaurant named Tilted Kilt with waitresses who are "not wearing' nothin'" is worked up about being perceived as successful based on sex appeal. Yeah, that's a head scratcher.
The Gobbler building is still there. Hasn't been open in years
Best quote. "We hire only spectacular talent."
Yes, MM, Madison's Kilt "tilted" out of business a few years back.
And Chi Chi's has been out of business nationwide since 2004 (Former Packer Max McGee was a founder).
Now it's only Hooter's left for soft-porn waitressing. Sigh. Except for the enterprising individual talents (like Silver Eagle, right, garage?)
The ultimate straw man argument: make up a word, then write a column denouncing it.
I followed the links and found a hilarious quote:
"The younger crowds want to go to a newer place, not where mom and dad took them," says Darren Tristano, an analyst at Technomic.
My parents did not take me to Hooters! The go-to restaurant for special occasions was The Tavern. We didn't eat out otherwise.
Seriously, what parents are going to take kids to Hooters?
Actually, the food's pretty good at Tilted Kilt. Lord knows that I enjoy observing the waitresses, but I'd go there preferentially to other pub-type lunch joints just because of the food.

Following the links, one of the heroic defenders of Tilted Kilt explained proudly that he takes his 6 and 9 year old daughters there.
I had never seen one of those places and had to google the outfits the waitresses wear.
I hope that dad enjoys it when his daughters wind up on Girls Gone Wild in a few years!
Just open one for the ladies
I believe the proper blog etiquette for this type of article is LOTS of pictures. (for comparison purposes only)
They need to serve brats. Then all will be forgiven. Men's hungers will be satiated.
Men have seldom noticed waitresses breasts anyway since Dolly Parton set an impossible world standard of female mammary beauty.

Isn't like claiming that you bought Playboy for the articles?

This is sad news to me...but I loved the name!

MadisonMan, maybe parents in loco? When we went to Hooters it was March: high school state basketball championships in Madison. There were several coaches celebrating with their teams.

Tilted Kilt — yes, we were talking about kilts yesterday, but remember when Tilted Kilt popped up in the Wisconsin protest story?
Yes, I "remembered" it by posting about it in the first comment on this thread.
Snubbed again! :)
Tilted Kilt is a Scottish themed Hooters. As RonF said, the food is pretty good while the waitresses are mostly stacked but seem to have way too many ugly, stupid tattoos.
I had never heard of the Tilted Kilt until you posted about the Fleebagger WI legislators.
You can have anything you want (except breasts)
At Alice's Breastaraunt.
If I want a breastaurant, all I need to do is have The Blonde wear a low cut top at supper.
Most of the breastaurant girls need a push up bra for the same effect.
Down here in the south, Hooters means chubby waitresses in tight shirts and short shorts.
Just like a local high school without a dress code.
Good wings though!

Tilted Kilt doesn't go so far to call itself a family restaurant. But Lynch understands the risks of crossing a certain line. "We want to be very PG-13," he says. Its "class in all things" motto also means servers can't have tattoos, piercings or dyed hair.
Say WHAT? Can't have tattoos? Over at the Tilted Kilt near where I work that I go to about once every 6 weeks possession of at least one tattoo larger than you hand seems to be a job requirement!
Isn't like claiming that you bought Playboy for the articles?
No, it's like saying I enjoyed both the articles and the pictures.
I thought womyns' boobs were something to be celebrated to the extent that we can watch them breastfeed in public.
I mean, c'mon. . . .most of us haven't been completely weaned anyhow.
Had you linked to the SFGate version of this story, you would have provided pics. http://www.sfgate.com/default/article/Hooters-style-restaurants-experiencing-a-mini-boom-3658808.php
nichole asks: "Seriously, what parents are going to take kids to Hooters?"
An old Simpsons episode offers a hint. When Nelson wins the big football game, his father rides up on a motorycyle and says "I'm taking you to Hooter's!" Nelson replies "Aw, I don't want to bother mom at work."
wv: nonynad. I wonder what a 'nony' is.
They should just admit that they're commercializing sex appeal, and make a clean breast of things. :)
meh, it's just a Hooters with kilts and without the awful wings and weak beer.
Tons of people take their kids to hooters. It isn't remotely unusual to see a husband and wife and little kids in there. And yeah, the menu at tilted kilt is pretty good. One opened near where I live and if I ever get back home, I will go there. In Madison for the week, do they have one here?
Not even close to being a hooters without awful wings. But then again, hooters isn't hooters. At least not the hooters that people who have never been in one think a hooters is.
