I know it's Wednesday, but I was just thinking about "It's a Monday Kind of Tuesday," and the question occurred to me: What day of the week is most frequently sung about?
And if you're planning to say Friday, I hope the song on your mind is "Friday On My Mind."
I'm very fond of "Gloomy Sunday," and maybe it's Sunday.
I'm guessing the answer is Friday, Monday, or Sunday. No way it's Thursday.

SAturday Nights all right for fighting.
S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT!
Monday Monday. So good to me.
Here's another list, albeit with garish, eye-piercing color.
Stormy Monday Blues - T-Bone Walker
(I deleted 2 off-topic comments.)
@EM That's some choice old-school web design!
Old school website design, boring as it is, wins over the garish. Now, what about songs that have "weekend" in the title? That would add to the Sat-Sun count.
“Come Monday” – Jimmy Buffett
“Monday, Monday” – Mamas and Papas
Just another Manic Monday...
Although my guess in Friday.
It's Sunday. Look at the lists!
I don't care if Monday's blue,
Tuesday's gray and Wednesday too,
Thursday I don't care about you,
It's Friday, I'm in love...
-- The Cure
Bring on the weekend, baby!
Today is muggy. Tomorrow is tueggy. The next day will be weggy.
"Saturday Night At The Movies" - inspired by a TV show, no less.
Friday on My Mind is a killer pop song and that's a very cool video. Once again YouTube justifies the existence of the internet.
Sunday Morning - Maroon 5
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down.
Oh and really skinny people!
Sunday - Nikonn
"Lady Madonna" covers the bases pretty well.
"Monday morning creeping like a nun."
On Sunday - 'Til Tuesday
@E.M. Davis. Thanks for the lists. Wednesday and Thursday are lustreless days without any kind of brand awareness. Neither day has inspired a great song. They don't even have their own color. How about Fuchsia Wednesday. That would be a good name for a song. Nobody knows what the color fuchsia is, but it sounds kind of sexy.
Sunday
Whiskey on a Sunday
Sunday Bloody Sunday
@ Lem's 11:12 post Sunday. Who else knows what location that youtube video is portraying.
If you do.....Geek!!
Blue Monday or The Beach?
@William:
Kramer: What's today?
Newman: It's Thursday.
Kramer: Really? Feels like Tuesday.
Newman: Tuesday has no feel. Monday has a feel, Friday has a feel, Sunday has a feel....
Kramer: I feel Tuesday and Wednesday...
Seinfeld - "The Sniffing Accountant"
"Never on a Sunday" hit every day of the week.
The title "Thursday's Child" is pretty common- recently a song by Bowie- based on the nursery rhyme "Monday's Child". "Thursday's child has far to go" is an image of the wanderer or quester. Bowie was born on Wednesday.
The movie "Gloomy Sunday" was excellent.
Sorry to be a stick in the mud here and talk numbers and such but a Google search shows the following for "lyrics xday" - all followed by 000,000.
Sunday - 236
Monday - 186
Tuesday - 165
Wednesday - 152
Thursday - 150
Friday - 285
Saturday - 201
weekend - 116
Roy-
I was using song titles rather than lyrics, but you may well be correct that Friday is most popular.
Tuesday's Gone With The Wind;
Never on a Sunday.
This has inspired me to write a love song called 'Thursdays in Omaha'. It's almost done. I just need a couple words that rhyme with orange and silver.
Ann warns, "No way it's Thursday.", and despite to Roy's lyric counts, Thursday must the the least sung about day.
That said, there's a tune that stands high above the rest, and that's To Claudia On Thursday" the opening cut from Begin, the only lp from the insanely great, criminally unheralded Millennium. One of the all time great pop albums, circa 1968.
Obviously it's Someday
And I will get around to proving that
Someday.
I love that one Clyde!
