Here I worked all day long, toiling in the harsh sunlight, looking forward to a meal of some substance, and instead, there it is, flowing and meandering about, casting aspersions about what? Well, tonight's going to be ...
I do miss the candor of British election coverage. Watching tonight's coverage—yay for internet streaming—reminds me of what I've missed, and that American election coverage is awful by comparison.
In today's news, charges against the Culver's Five have been dropped. And apparently a lot of the signatures collected to recall Democratic Senators -- collected by out-of-staters -- may be invalid.
The local news around here has said that out of state signatures and people signing the recall 2 or 3 times were against Sheila Harsdorf. There's an "R" after her name.
I'll sign anything a person shoves under my hand -- but I usually assume that they're correctly representing what I'm signing. Maybe I should start reading carefully.
Well MadMan, if the Democratic party of Wisconsin says so, I guess it must be true.
I mean really, the people circulating the petitions know the signatures are going to be verified. It seems that Democrats would have much more motivation to undermine the validity of the signatures than Republicans. Based on stories like this, I'm guessing Democrats are engaging in more than a little mischief.
In case you're interested, here is the Republican response to your story:
“Like the Kloppenburg recount, the Democrats’ challenge is an expensive waste of time, couched in hyperbole and hot air.
“After harassing thousands of Wisconsin citizens in an attempt to intimidate them into removing their signatures, it appears Democrats found only a few hundred signatures to directly challenge, out of 60,000 submitted. Far more signatures than that were challenged on petitions submitted to recall Republicans.
“Even in the unlikely event their challenges of individuals' signatures will be upheld, they fall far short of what is needed to prevent recall elections. The three Democrats will stand for election this summer.”

Oil slick.
I've been wanting to say something all day, but now I don't know what it is.
Gorgeous.
I have nothing to say except: that's a gorgeous picture.

I went to the Liquid Café. Turned out to be a bar. We all got totally saturated.
The deep colors flowing alongside each other are almost tangible. One can almost feel the cool flow.
Magnificent, Madame.
Fantastic photo.
Britain's election in a nutshell: "0340: Liberal Democrats HOLD Orkney Islands." And just about nothing else.

Hey. Nice picture. No idea what kind of law professor you are but, plainly, you are a gifted picture seeer/taker.
I'm sure you've said before but please say again - what equipment you use. Thanks.
I had to work, which for a political junkie like me, meant I missed the candidate's debate. Did I miss much?
Osama jokes are starting to flow:
Have you heard about the Osama cocktail? 2 shots and a splash of water.
Thank you. I'll be lurking all week.
Jay, that's a Klinghoffer Cocktail, repackaged.

"I love you so much that there's almost no chance I'd use you as a human shield against a Navy SEALs attack."
MadMan--

The whole recall thing is childish. I would expect Dems to be a lot more enthusiastic about it.
"Obama killed Osama and we got 72 versions."
Comment to a "Telegraph" article posted at Lucianne.com

In related news, Democrats insist that all votes for Scott Walker were from out-of-state relatives of the Koch brothers.
Nice photo. The effect doesn't last, but the initial impact is striking.
Here is the story from the paper this morning.
