Shiloh and Pbandj are going to be really unhappy when the Assembly passes the CB bill....

Shiloh and PbandJ.... check with DU and KOS for snarky comments. Judging from your discourse on the last thread.

Party on.

20 years from now they will be telling the stories.

Their moments on the barricades.

How they spoke truth to power.

Why they did not have to go to work in the morning.

How stoned they were, and how people actually got laid in the capitol building.

Man, those were the days.

Speaking for myself: I just received the latest DU/KOS update. We will continue "operation chaos" where we convince folks to vote for HRC...er.....no, that's not it, we will chant in the WI capital.

OPERATION CHAOS!!!!111!!!!!!1111!111111!!111111!!!!!!!!!!

Open rebellion is good for the soul. It is kind of like free speech. From now on everyone knows that these rebels cannot be trusted with authority. This is a bad move by some really spoiled and out of touch teachers who themselves have apparently never learned the basics of leadership and the of handling delegated authority.

How profoundly uncreative.

Is this all that our intellectual elites can come up with? A sit in?

How boring.

Made more mundane as they heap praise upon themselves with "solidarity" t-shirts and repeat dull rhetoric about "working families" and whatnot.

Meade - try to get photos of their fingernails. See how many actually get their hands soiled as they toil under the whip of the unscrupulous taxpayer.

Ann,

First post. Love the website. Originally from Sparta.

Quick question.

Does Madison have a Fire Marshall and what is the max occupancy in the building?

Most of the teachers are back to teaching. I'll bet you the majority in the capitol are students, Madison locals with time on their hands and union and democratic party professionals.

YAY MORE DRUMMING!

Ian's Pizza will be getting a lot of calls tomorrow.

Not a fan of camp-outs in the Capitol.

No sound ordinance.

No sound thinking either.

There are actually some pretty good drummers in Madison, Palladian. Marching band types.

University Students. Just to clarify.

Maybe there are a few high schoolers, but the two in this house (one of whom has now been accepted to the UW!) are in bed.

Christ, all this because the clerks at the DMV have to take a 5% pay cut. This is the great drama of their time?

Yes!

Maybe they can drone out a "we shall overcome" or a "What do we want? [fill in single word demand/euphamism here]! When do we want it? Now!"

Snore.

This isn't even a sit-in, people. It's a dumb symbolic coup by the graduate student vanguard of the $100,000/year-in-salary-and-benefits proletariat.

I'm pretty sure the brown stuff under their fingernails isn't dirt, if you know what i'm saying.

Mad Man, how can they sleep when the future of the nation is being decided just down the street.

It's the last stand of freedom against the evil Koch brothers.

Congrats MadisonMan!

Q: What do we want?
A: The kid to go away to college!

A: Now!

PJ O'Rourke famously opined that you can judge the quality of a political movement by the number of hot chicks. A lot of hot chicks means it will be successful, not least because the multiplier of dudes trying to get laid by those hot chicks will be very high.

The chicks are not hot in the pictures I'm seeing here at Althouse (unlike, by the way, the ones I see concurrently in North Africa).

ALH -

I have been to Morocco and only eat couscous with my right hand.

I will now do the same in Madison.

Man, I used to love listening to the stories from my grandfather when he was at the Alcatraz takeover, and the takeover of the village of Wounded Knee, and the stories from my uncle about the BIA takeover and stuff like that.

Those were the days. When lives were on the line, and there were real actual dangerous forces arrayed against them, and the real threat of death/imjury/jail time/beatings by cops/etc. was there, but there was meaning to it all - an actual cause.

Back in the day, it would be entire towns taken over. Now? "ooh. Let's go camp out in a public building while the cops let us do whatever we want - we'll be heroes, man!"

Kids today. You shame everyone that came before you. *Shaking my head*

Okay, I posted it in the other thread, but it is TOO PERFECT.

Have they considered song and dance?

How many of these idiots.....er, "patriotic protesters" are actually teachers? Or is the local "rent-a-thug" doing a booming business?

I love how Ian's Pizza is cashing in on this! Greedy Capitalists! I doubt most of these people are from Wisconsin. There has been a teamster semi-truck with Ohio plates parked on the corner of mifflin and wisconsin ave for the past three or four days. Also alof of out of state plates with anti-walker stickers and posters on their cars

THE PEOPLE! IGNITED! WILL NEVE...

/They better hope the FD isn't out protesting too, is all I gotta say

The words "chaos" and "gas" are etymologically related. "Gas" was originally a Dutch word and the Dutch "g" being notoriously guttural, made it sound closer to the Greek X.

Shiloh and Pbandj

Mentioned previously after Obama was elected president, everything else is icing on the cake, his election still driving conservatives bat shit crazy notwithstanding.

WI is an interesting exercise in American democracy and it's wayyy too early to know what the longgg term effects will be.

And before that AA repetitive fool appears, America is a republic, as the rest of the world discovered when cheney/bush were appointed president in 2000.

But hey, (8) years of cheney/bush gave us Barack Hussein Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America! :)

Again, the yin and yang of politics.

>

And let the record show I have reached celebrity status w/the (((first word))) in this thread.

I'd like to thank all of AA's little people for this prestigious honor lol.

ciao

The defeat is so utter and disgusting that Shiloh brings up Bush and Cheney at post 36. Truly hilarious.

Way to go, you crazy senior citizen Navy vet.

edward said...

Shiloh that's all you've got? ObaMao's election in 2008? You missed the election of 2010 did you?

I thought you'd at least lecture us on how collective bargaining is some how a "right". OR that freedom speech means a union can confiscate part of my pay check to support politics I don't agree with.

Obama's election? really

Oh BTW conservatives have moved on.... 2010 was only beginning. Perhaps Obamacare will bring people back to the progressives in droves...... yeah I see that working out for you.
