"Where are the liberal civil rights leaders in response to the openly racist comments and calls for violence against America's black Supreme Court Justice?"

"These same men -- all men, I believe, as per usual with the black civil rights groups -- got all in a multi-week, if not many month, tizzy with their allegation that what obviously was a 'say it don't spray it' situation at a Tea Party rally was a spit attack on a black Member of Congress, but they evidently do not care when persons at an event affiliated with one of the nation's most established liberal groups, Common Cause, publicly say they want Clarence Thomas physically attacked and put into slavery."

Says Amy Ridenour, via Instapundit, who uses the word "hypocrisy." It's something beyond hypocrisy, though, I think.

There's a dish called tzimis or tsimmis, which is carrots, sweet potatoes, brisket and honey, and sometimes raisins, which is baked for about 3 hours and is DENSE. People just sit...for days.

But yeah, Manischewitz is an embarrassment.

the whole Planned Parenthood issue recently shows that Breitbart was showing something that apparently wasn't limited to Acorn.

Exactly: another right-wing disinformation campaign where their victims patiently hear them out, then call the police once they leave.

And the "I'm skeptical" Althouse, etc. wonders why the left no longer takes these right-wing exposes seriously. The question is why anyone gave them crednce to begin with.

hey troop: the egg cream is neither egg nor cream. Discuss.

Fls if you are a New Yorker or Jewish you know what an egg cream is.

"An egg cream is a beverage consisting of chocolate syrup, milk, and soda water." Or seltzer as we commonly call it.

Best made in a soda fountain until Bernardo and the Sharks burst in looking for Maria.

troop neglected to specify Fox's U-Bet syrup, but maybe that's a given in his part of the world.

Pastrami on rye or corn beef with kugel
Chocolate cheesecake or warm apple strudel
Matzo ball soup or duck almond ding
These are a few of
Troop's favorite things

Brisket and bagels
with lox and cream cheese
These are a few of
Troop's favorite things

When the egg creams
And the cheese strings
And he's feeling sad
Troop simply remembers his favorite things
And then he won't feel so bad.

I hadn't heard this. And Althouse and Instapundit are as right as my blogs get.

At the same time, it's difficult to know what is entirely accurate when the best news and the best responses often occur in the clearly biased blogs of one or another. It's very easy to only hear one side or a particular take.

Since most of my friends are liberals, it's very common for me to hear them posting the same kind of disinformation.

Echo chambers are bad for the soul.

But, with corporate driven news organizations as the major media, with their own agendas, there's no real place for authentically message neutral news. If that is even possible. If I want to know more about details and up to date issues, it has to be on blogs--knowing they all lean one direction or another (Insta to the Right, Huffington to the Left, Althouse toward entertaining herself). If I want to watch a precisely groomed man or woman talking seemingly seriously but rarely saying anything new or interesting I'll watch national news.

If I want to watch a weather lady in a tight sweater I watch local news.

My wife doesn't let us watch local news anymore.
