Bob and Mickey!
Wrong at the top of your voice is always effective.
Just not for your side.
"Bob Dylan was an idiot savant!" Althouse must go on Bloggingheads to debate Bob Wright!
Since income inequality has increased at the same time government intervention in private business has also increased might there not be a causal connection?
The excerpt starts, bizarrely, with Kaus talking nonsense and Wright correcting him, but things quickly get back to normal. I don't doubt that a lot of pundits will continue trying to stoke a debate about income inequality, but it's simply not a subject most Americans care all that much about.
Having spent nine years crying TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH!!! TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH!!!, I've got to think that the Democrats found it at least a little awkward to say "We only want to extend the middle-class portion of the TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH!!!"-- and were content to let the matter drop.
Income inequality is pretty much a librul myth. They have kept it alive by moving the goalposts on a regular basis.
How well informed is Wright if he did not know of Politifact? Also, his argument on behalf of Obama was really "just because the rich don't deserve their tax cut..wah wah wah" yet Wright seems to believe his argument is positively brilliant.
I am with Crack on this - these Blogginheads "stars" are mostly repulsive and smug douche-nozzles and without new ideas or original thinking.
They're both wrong. The huge debate is going to be about how much spending to cut, and where. Progressives will be dragged in kicking and screaming all the way but that's what they'll have to debate.
Ricpic:
I'd start cutting spending by geting rid of all those govt aides who sit behind their bosses when they testify before Congress or stand behind a mayor / governor when he holds a press conference.
You'd think some ambitious reporter would yell out "don't any of you have some work to do?"
Income inequality: people making $100,000 envious of people making $1,000,000.
Note to people making $100,000. When people making $30,000 get pissed about income inequality, they are pissed at YOU.
