Keep going. It's Bob Wright and Mickey Kaus in the big 5th anniversary edition of Bloggingheads, which began with just Bob and Mickey. Great election week topics:
How Bob was won over by the Stewart/Colbert rallyADDED: I love the Tom Toles caricatures. Funny that Bob and Mickey — men who don't look at all alike — both end up with pinched-together temples and eyes and exaggerated mouths. Their heads are both super-wide at the mouth level to accommodate their giant mouths. Both have tiny eyes. The main distinctions are: eyebrows (tiny and giant), eyes (bagged and tiny), and lips (frowny and smirky).
Why Mickey is rooting for a Republican rout

Now that is good news. The multiplier effect from huge legal fees should jump start the economy. I for one am willing to do my patriotic duty and spend it as fast as it comes in. A shopping spree in NYC with a stop at Troopers Store will keep many New Yorkers out of bread lines, or cake lines. Just think how much employment an Elliott Spitzer type attorney can do with this spare cash.
As much as I like Mickey, I can't be bothered to listen to anything Bob Wrong has to say. I'm almost making it a rule, now, not to listen to/read/bother with people who are always wrong - what's the benefit?
It's about time we started holding pundits accountable - and dismissing those who take up the mediasphere while having nothing of substance to offer.
Robert Wright is a prime candidate.
BTW - there's also that tired, put-upon look Wright has:
Can America get back to talking with men who have healthy levels of testosterone?
The frightening thing about those caricatures is that they're not caricatures.
Mickey's eyebrows are hilarious.
Does anyone know the skinny on how Mickey stands with relation to bhtv? Did he sign over rights? Decline to invest?
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BOB AND MICKEY <3
I think Mickey had a problem linking being on Slate (which is part of WaPo) and linking to Bhtv if he was invested in it. He subsequently disconnected from Slate to run for office, which he (predictably) lost.
Thanks, Professor. Now if Mickey would run again and use that kind of acting on the trail...
Must-see bhtv:

(oops, this is the one I meant about Mickey)
Mickey has purchasing minds on his mind at 62:13.
'Mickey is like Althouse.'
Deborah, that was a great little piece from Bloggingheads, and not only because we get to see Althouse have her way with Michelle Goldberg. The last clip helps to reinforce what I noticed about the caricature. Mikey has no ears!
Wasn't there a scene in The Odd Couple when Felix and Oscar split-up?
Reminded me of that, with the allergies reversed between the two.
Penny, I was laughing my ass off during the Althouse/Goldberg diavlog.
EDH, I love that film era; The Apartment, The Fortune Cookie...
I've gotten used to using the horrible sounding "blog" in conversation, but I still cannot bring myself to say "Tweet".
I love the Tom Toles caricatures.
The caricatures both resemble bowling pins which are easy to knock down. But they don't stay down--they sort of weeble-wobble instead. Plus people shaped like that have short memories.
The artist knows all this.
Still getting through the full bloggingheads. The thing I don't like about Robert Wright is that he listens and discounts; listens and obfuscates; listens and diverts. And through it all his core beliefs are not shaken. So was the stimulus not enough or not comparable to other efforts in other countries because "we're different" etc. etc
More bloggingheads. Wright claims a House Republican gain of 50 seats only as VICTORY
Mickey says "Your insane! meaning you've set the goal posts so high that anything less if a victory for Dems.

Ann notices this because she herself is a good cartoonist.
Bob's caricature should have a wide forehead and small chin. However, I do recognize him with the eyes and dour mouth.
What makes the Wright caricature work is that it's rolling its eyes, something Bob does habitually.
