I don't think that a mentally ill person facing a murder charge should be giving — be allowed to give? — a press interview. Perhaps I shouldn't be interested in reading this.
His mother ... knocked on the door and asked him to go to the kitchen and pour water from a pot in which she was cooking three chickens. "I looked at these chickens lying dead in the pot and a voice told me it was a sacrifice. It was black magic," he said.
Brea left the chickens alone and went back to his room. When his mother asked why he did not do what she had asked, he said she spoke with a different voice.
"She had the voice of the demon. I opened the door with the dagger at my side and the sword," he said....
"To you it might sound silly, but in my culture demons are very real."

So he is nuts. I get it. He still knew right from wrong. Especially if he is giving press conferences. Let him spend the rest of his life some mental hospital for the criminally insane.
And no chicken soup when he gets there.
"Neighbors complained that the officers who initially responded failed to do enough to get inside and stop the sword-wielding maniac before his mother died.
Police officials said the officers handled the situation properly and were waiting for better equipped and trained Emergency Service Unit cops to arrive."
Sounds like England. Heroism, killed by committee.
And if it's about demons, I'd rather have taken my chances with his mom's soup than whatever is lurking inside him.
Three chickens!?!
That must have been a huge pot. Was she cooking soup for the entire neighborhood.
Ooops. Sorry...digressed.
No, he should not be giving interviews that skew the publics opinion of him as a crazy person. He IS an actor, after all, and even a non actor can fake crazy
Scream all you want, but no one's going to save you.
It's Procedure.
He sounds quite normal to me, but then, I run with a slightly different crowd,...

If you were his attorney, and you were preparing to defend the murderer by claiming he was insane, then of course you'd be committing malpractice by not allowing your crazed client to demonstrate to the potential jury pool just how much of a freak he really is (whether he actually is or even if he's faking it!)
Think like a good attorney, Ann!
Have to agree with NewHam on the interview idea. This guy is making his case to be put into a mental hospital in the press.
And the press can't help him fast enough because he's a celeb.
You need to support the police. They are only minutes away when every second counts.
In the old days the cop on the beat would have kicked the door down and maybe saved that lady. But there are too many "procedures" and guidelines and people suing for that to happen anymore.
Oh, come on, people!
Who amongst us hasn't ever thought that your Mom was possessed by a demon? Especially after getting grounded in high school.
This guy just took it a wee step too far, that's all.
Lordy, what a judgemental crowd....
Whatever, just another night in Zoo York.
Police officials said the officers handled the situation properly and were waiting for better equipped and trained Emergency Service Unit cops to arrive.
They were probably busy raiding a barbershop or a medical marijuana dispensary.
If you are christian , any denomination, demons and angels are real. As Byron said I believe in God so also in the devil
I'm not quite buying it. I think he hated his mother. Period.
