Congratulations. It's a big Internet out there, being second in any category is really kind of amazing.

Cream always rises to the top.

Yet there is still one blog to rule them all...

Yes, you have to throw Glenn Reynolds into the fires of Modor.

Congratulations.

I will renew my complaint that I think the category needs redefinition. I don't think of either Instapundit nor Althouse as lawprof blogs. Yes, they're written by law professors, but their content is far more general in nature. Volokh is the kind of blog I think of as a lawprof blog. Yes, the bloggers there often write about things besides the law, but the focus is clearly on the law, legal study, and law practice.

Calling Instapundit a lawprof blog would be like calling Charles Krauthammer the nation's most widely read medical columnist. Yes, he's an MD, but his column seldom addresses medical topics.

Congrats on maintaining your position as well as those impressive increases in page views & visitors! Considering that Instapundit is less a blog than a clearinghouse of opinions expressed by others elsewhere, and your nearest "competitor" is a group blog maintained by 19 contributors, you must be especially pleased.

Random thought: Wonder why Hewitt's blog appears to be sinking like an aneroid barometer just before a typhoon. Not interested enough to go and find out, though ;-).

As I recall, Hewitt is a big time Romney partisan.

Eh... you shouldn't think of the ratings, Althouse. Quality is more important than numbers once you have reached the top tier.

Zombies have overtaken Drudge this morning btw.

ROTFL

Well played, sir, well played!

Not a big Hewitt fan/reader, as I understand it he is a Romney hack, but also a GOP hack..."Yay Romney", then "Yay McCain"

IF the GOP does it, it's OK...

On the Internet and in the Age of the Tea Party, shills take a pounding.

Congrats! You are a brilliant strategist. By ensuring that 15%-18% of instapundit's links are to your blog; you will forever cement your ranking!** Suck it Volokh! Heh.

**whatever you've got on him; it's worth it's web-weight in internet- gold.

Congrats, Madame.

A few more Sarah Palin posts and a Friday Rule 5 with Christina Hendricks should do the trick

How odd that Jack Bog's Blog makes it into the top 10. It's a popular local (Portland, OR) blog, mostly political in nature though the author is a tax lawyer. I wouldn't have thought it would have more page views than blogs like Balkanization or PrawfsBlawg, mainly because I can't imagine anyone outside of the region (or not very interested in this region) bothering to follow it. It's the only blog on the list I'd characterize as regional in nature.
