And not the filet of Gulf Red Snapper?

The blue plate (BP) special takes on a whole new twist.

Ray's Hell beats 5 Guys on Yelp.

To read Medvedev's twitter entries you'd think he was a jolly Rotarian. Talk about blowing smoke.

Five Guys doesn't have a foie gras with truffle oil burger. Ray's H-Burger does. Redounds to Five Guys credit.

Isn't this a summit

Boy I can remember the day when having the US President meet the Russian (Soviet) Premier was ALWAYS a summit

No true gourmet would eat anything doused with so-called "truffle oil". What's called "truffle oil" is not oil infused with truffles; instead it's oil infused with a synthetic aromachemical: 2,4-dithiapentane, sometimes with a few slivers of truffle off-cuts floating at the bottom of the bottle for appearances. This sulfurous grease neither tastes nor smells like truffles and any restaurant that fouls foie gras with it certainly doesn't deserve the patronage of a man of taste.

Nothing beats a quad on a kaiser with grilled onions, cheddar and a fried egg at Krazy Jim's in Ann Arbor.

Ever notice Medvedev looks like a scared rabbit about to be shot when with Putin, but here he looked like the goofus he probably is.

Meanwhile, Putin was in Russia running the show. Maybe Obama can meet with Mayor McCheese next time.

What are you suggesting about our President and Mr. Medvedev?

Something about this tweet reminds me of "eats shoots leaves."

No sneaky exit out the back door of the WH for our allies.

Have any Wisconsin Althousians tried the jalapeno cheeseburger at the Anchor Bar in Superior? I would call it a Superior burger on all counts.

(I'm sure AllenS has been there. Definitely his kind of place.)

Ok, a burger chime in. For the original taste in green chile cheeseburger check out the Owl Bar and Cafe in scenic San Antonio, New Mexico.
Conveniently located just off I-25 and the White Sands Missle Range.

I would not eat any burger joint as I eat veggie burgers. They use the same grill and same utensils. You pay more and wait longer and then you cannot stomach the veggie burger. It is so sad that there is no burger joint in DC that is big on giving vegetarians a good experience for their money on veggie burgers.

So where's the "beef"?

At a TEA party?

So how many times does this bull have to pass through a friggin' China shop?

At least Medvedev uses his Twitter account, unlike (obviously) Obama.

What a poser.

Palladian rocks.

They surely broke the mold after that him.

But, as interesting/amusing as he is, it's still a damn good thing that the world isn't populated by palladians.

john,

Last time I was in Superior was sometime in the 1980s. Smelt trip that turned into a bar hopping event. Missed the smelt run by a day. Not sure if I was in the Anchor Bar. Certainly possible. Yesterday I bought some Cheddar and Jalapeno Bratwurst produced by Louie's. Which reminds me, I'm almost out of beer.

john said...

AllenS -

It's hard to barhop in Superior and not end up at the Anchor. Probably better for you there anyway.

IMS at least one intreped (read - plastered) smelter would loose his (always a male) life each year by falling into the stream, chest waders filling up, and getting carried into the lake and freezing to death. Much better to smelt from the safety of a bar stool.

You should try some blueberry and wild rice sausages from McDonalds Meats in Clear Lake MN. I know it sounds kind of granola, but they were the most totally delicious sausages I have ever eaten, ever.

And they deliver.

AllenS said...

Clear Lake isn't that far from me. But I hardly ever go there. I have no reason to. Louie's is out of Cumberland, and the local BP convenience store carries their brats. Smelting, from what I hear, is back to being somewhat productive again. If it wasn't for the drinking, there'd be no reason to go. Are you from WI? I live in Star Prairie.

Hi Ann,

Don't let HDHouse know that!

Cheers!

Wow. My impression was that the only places to eat in A^2 back then were the Old Heidelberg, Drake's, and the Pretzel Bell.

john said...

No, I live in AZ, but have relatives across the Lake and up on the Iron Range.

A few years agot we had those sausages for breakfast at The Nanaboujou Lodge. They were the best part of the trip.
