"You're being extremely inappropriate."

She needs to work a little on gravitas to go with her stunning beauty. That said, it was great to see her stick to her guns.

Dumb as a post? I could say "who cares" but that would do the young lady a disservice.

I don't know how smart she is. Don't really care. She has spine--lot's of spine.

Good on her!

When a woman says NO - it means NO.

Have to give it up to wingers on one of their own. She is absolutely hot as hell.

"I refuse to sit here while you stop asking me all these inappropriate questions!"

Victim card, played.

TMink said...

I am not sure about her use of the word inappropriate. I would have preferred that she really stick to her guns and say "that is private" or "I am not going to discuss that" rather than lable his questions.

I honestly don't care about this issue (again), but I sure as hell would like to inappro her priate. Repeatedly.

Color me unimpressed, not because I have any problems with Carrie Prejean, but because if Larry King didn't ask her personal questions, he wouldn't have a show, and she should have known that before agreeing to appear.

Word verification: rotnised: over-the-counter relief for mild cases of gangrene, presumably.

Larry's deep Barry White like tone was very very inappropriate.

Larry was coming on to her )

Hey Carrie baby.. lets keep it together. ;)

Anonymous said...

To her credit, it takes quite a person to make Larry King momentarily resemble a journalist...

Freeman Hunt said...

Heh. I didn't think he was being inappropriate at all, but I was impressed that she seemed so totally unintimidated.

chickelit said...

Larry was coming on to her

Well he does dig those much younger women. He's also an expert on marriage, having had so many.

Methadras said...

Meh.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

When Larry goes - What? and you realized that this guy has been interviewing people longer than anybody still alive.. Larry spoke like someone who up to that moment was highly confident he had heard every possible answer that could be uttered by a human being.

And then there was Carrie. What? lol.

Isn't her 15 minutes up yet? She is an attractive (with mucho help from the Beverly Hills Plastic surgeons) with a career to salvage. She is the Joe the plumber of 2009 and hopefully will fade in to the background soon. I was really upset with the interview that she did on the Today show simply for the fact that everytime she said "they" were after her (paranoia runs rampant here) no one said,"who". She must have said it 30 times in a 5 minute interview. I suspect she has received much coaching from Sean Hannity and his ilk, didn't do her much good. She is vapid, not very interesting and hardly a mental giant. Stick to her guns? What guns? Spine, only the spine that was manufactured for her by Sean and the neocons.

I'd rather listen to Ann Coulter, at least she can back up what she says and has some intelligence.

Wow, it really is "Jump The Shark Day". Levi's got his moment in the sun too. Why does it always have to be about nudity? (not that I'm complaining about nudity)

I don’t get it. Why do you go on national TV after something like this comes out, and expect the topic won’t come up? Oh look, she’s also been on The View. You’re an idiot. You’re not helping yourself! Sit Down, Get Away Form The Camera’s, And Shut Up!!!!Levi's done it too.

Titus said...

I love the part where she holds up the book. That book came out in record time.

When is she going to be running for office?

I would definitely bone her though.

I love everything about her except the frivilous lawsuit-hate those.

AlphaLiberal said...

Someone has some thin, if beautiful, skin. Even after he changes the subject she continues to call him inappropriate.

Seems like she planned to go there from the get-go. She's a victim!

Ann Althouse said...

It was pretty clear that King knew that she had a secrecy agreement as part of the settlement with the pageant and the topic was off limits. King shows the he knows that and pushes her into that area anyway. That was "inappropriate." A funny word to use, but still, that was the problem.

Freeman Hunt said...

What was really inappropriate was that Olbermann clip. Where are the feminists on that one?

Joseph said...

If he knew the topics was off-limits, I suppose it could be inappropriate. But I can also imagine lots of ways she could have answered the question without getting into the details of the settlement. Her drama queen reaction, however, also seemed somewhat inappropriate, especially given the particular interviewer and the kind of interview format (not particularly confrontational or aggressive or partisan).

kjbe said...

She gets points for sticking to her guns, but deductions, from this judge, for timing and execution.

James said...

She goes on Larry King, days after the sex tape revelation, and expects only soft, book-pimping questions, and throws a fit? Maybe she should join her hero Sarah on her conservatives-only book tour, where the hardest questions she'll have to face would be "Why are you so courageous?" and "What makes you so amazing?"

MadisonMan said...

I watch that and think Well, what was she expecting from Larry King? This all seemed pretty predictable. So I can't gin up much sympathy for her.

Dark Eden said...

This is throwing a fit?

"I can't answer that question."

"I said I can't answer."

"This is inappropriate, I can't answer that."

"I can't answer this, this is inappropriate."

That's throwing a fit? Throwing a fit would be saying, "Listen you senile old fart, What part of I can't answer that do you not understand? Do you need me to shout it in your ear? Can we get your hearing aid tuned? Are you completely deaf? I CAN'T ANSWER THAT QUESTION! Let me sing it now, I say I-uh-I-ah-I-oooo-I can't answer that question!"

That would have been throwing a fit.

James said...

Dark Eden:

No, throwing a fit = even after he does give up on trying to get her to talk about the tape, taking her mic off, continuing with the "you're being inappropriate," and leaving the interview like a drama queen.

KCFleming said...

That was like reading the Ames Iowa Tribune's vicious takedown of the Community Theater production of Bye Bye Birdie back in 2002.

This truly is a tiff that will live in infamy. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall.
I was all like 'Whaaaat?' and he goes 'Yeah' and I was like Nuh-uuuh.

Scott M said...

@James

It's all designed to make her the newest starlet of unscripted dramas.

Dark Eden said...

No, throwing a fit = even after he does give up on trying to get her to talk about the tape, taking her mic off, continuing with the "you're being inappropriate," and leaving the interview like a drama queen.
>>>

Did she do that? Hah! I guess I missed the last part of the tape. Well good for her, that doesn't offend me given my low opinion of the MSM but okay I now officially endorse the 'she threw a fit' meme.

Shanna said...

Is there a way to not be inappropriate when talking to someone who made a sex tape?

Other than that, I still don't care about this person.

Dark Eden said...

>>>>

Its pretty easy. Avoid chuckling to yourself, then pointing at her and saying, "Yer a filthy whore you are. Yes you are! Show me yah boobays whore-girl!"

Just treat her like a person, this used to be called common decency but its not very common anymore.

Titus said...

Could you imagine her and Palin in girl on girl action?

Total woody.

Titus said...

I don't know what I am more excited about-reading her book, or seeing Levi's Playgirl spread.

My mom called me and said there was an announcement by the Mormon church and mo's?

Anyone hear anything?

Dustin said...

Did the people bashing her watch this interview?

She was very calm and polite!

How is she throwing a fit, or doing anything wrong? She had to tell Larry several times that she wouldn't answer this question. Her haters are grasping for straws. This woman has shown a great strength.

I don't agree with her on marriage, but the left's treatment of her has been awful. Bashing her, even for this? WOW. She's not the bad guy here. Before you bash her... watch the video and put yourself in her shoes. It's hard to be that nice and restrained in that situation.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

But I can also imagine lots of ways she could have answered the question without getting into the details of the settlement

What part of I don't fucking want to talk about this and I CAN'T legally talk about it didn't Larry get?

It was obvious that someone off screen was instructing her to stop the interview.

She really shouldn't smile so much when she is irritated. It makes it difficult to take her seriously. I guess the pasted on smile is something that you can learn to be a beauty queen or a politician (Obama and his consistant smile). Nice looking but fake.

William said...

She and Larry have a symbiotic relationship. If he treats her unfairly, she becomes a bigger celebrity. If she complains about unfair treatment, his dismal ratings improve....The whole thing is opera boffa. Don't you have anything better to do with your lives than worry about some beauty queen's opinions on gay marriage or--the more interesting question--the morality of making sex tapes for your lover. I personally don't have anything better to do with my life than ponder these questions, but I was hoping you had something better to do.

Titus said...

I think you'd be the only one in the thread unsure of that answer.

Victoria, she said that she was opposed to gay marriage to that little twerp Hilton at the Miss America contest. That cost her the title. That is ample evidence that her spine existed before her relationship with Mr. Hannity.

As for your second statment, we agree completely.

sonicfrog said...

Someone please clarify. If you're suing someone for breach of contract, and it turns out you were the one who breached the contract for making a nude video, wouldn't the settlement stipulate that the other side can't talk about the embarrassing vid, not you? Isn't it assumed that you wouldn't talk about it because it makes you look bad?

Why would you put language in a settlement that restricts you from talking about something you don't want to talk about anyway.

Ignorance is Bliss said...

I think you'd be the only one in the thread unsure of that answer.

Actually, I'm unsure too. As a straight male, I'd rather not see Levi naked. On the other hand, I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a rusty plastic spoon read Carrie's book.

Now, if the choice was between seeing Levi in playgirl, or watching Carrie's video, that would be an easy choice.

Ignorance is Bliss said...

Why would you put language in a settlement that restricts you from talking about something you don't want to talk about anyway.

So that when you go on Larry King Live you can deflect the question you don't want to answer.

Chase said...

OUCH!

Larry King spanked by Carrie Jean!

I bet he likes it.

Dark Eden said...

Actually, I'm unsure too.

I meant unsure of his answer.

Paddy O said...

"this video has been removed due to terms of use violation"

Talk about extremely inappropriate.

Chase said...

If Larry King ends up marrying Carrie Jean, she would be

Carrie Jean King.

It could happen.

And for the record, I would much prefer Carrie Jean - as she is now - as Speaker of the House instead of Nancy Pelosi.

Fred4Pres said...

Can we agree Carrie Prejean is not a martyr, not the devil, nothing more or less than some convienant symbol for a contentious issue. The only thing she is really guilty of is self promotion, which is not even a bad thing, unless you do it badly.

And she is doing it badly now.

Fred4Pres said...

Chase--Carrie Prejean King. But I agree Larry could attempt a marriage. Why not.

Fred4Pres said...

The mediation/settlement agreement probably does not prevent her from disclosing or discussing a video she made on her own prior to the pagent---

But if it contains what we think it contains, I can understand why she does not want to discuss it. All she needed to do is not discuss it and keep her cool. Or better yet, not go on Larry King.

traditionalguy said...

Carrie Jean the teenage queen stood up to the CNN old timer like a champ. Will she give him a rematch? No publicity is bad publicity, and especially if the lady is a beautiful Christian Diva thrown into the CNN lion's den. This reminds me of the Seabiscuit Movie. We all need a champion in these dark days when all seems lost.

victoria said...

Actually, tmink what cost her her title was that she refused to fulfill her contract with the Donald and his organization.I suspect that she was advised that those antics would cost her the crown and give her a basis for being the "victim".

I suspect that she and Sarah Palin had similar ghost writers for her book and Palin's book to come out in record time. Palin's was about 4 months, start to finish and hers was about the same amount of time. At least Palin has something to say, not that I trust Palin to be honest.

Stick to her guns, from the moment she made that comment during the "pagent" she had advisors and soft pillow of neocons to fall back on.

No spine, just money and celebrity.I'd have more respect for her if she could stand alone for her convictions, instead of using the shield of the right wing of the Republican Party to cloak her. Spine is standing up to all when no one is on you side. Whistle blowers, our military in Iraq and Afghanistan. That takes spine. No spine there.

titus,

That fag bitch thing is boring and predictable as hell.

I've been around it for 40 years.

I suppose you'll reply to this with some incredibly witty remark about how you take it up the ass.

Jesus, you are comic genius. Almost as great as Hedda Lettuce.

Seriously, gays taking it up the ass and getting shit on the ends of their dicks is so much more interesting than that boring stuff heteros do. You are so very fabulous.

Titus said...

Shouting Thomas relax man, take a deep breath.

If you have ever followed anything I have wrote on this site you know I don't do anal.

I don't want to fuck up my prostate or someone elses.

Just a little jerky jerky and oral for me, but thank you for your interest.

Special Hugs,

Titus

And no I don't care for Hedda Lettuce-she is so very 1998.

Althouse, do you know that the password that I had to enter was "manthong"=how weird?

Tight Ass, you are also a bareface liar.

Oh well, anybody who can pretend that an asshole is a vagina... well... you get my drift.

You are a bore. Your sex life is a bore. Your attempts to be daring and offensive are about what I expect from a run of the mill fag.

I used to live in Chelsea, Tight Ass. Your kind is a dime per ton.

Shouting..., get your gay terminology right. That should read:

Tight Ass, you are also a bear-face liar.

1. Why did she go on Larry King if she was going to refuse to answer any question about the settlement?

2. Good for her for not backing down.

3. With that said, she could have handled it better. It really wasn't an "inappropriate" question.

4. The comments on youtube largely call her "bitch" or "cunt." The comments I read on youtube (regardless of the video content) are consistently the dumbest, most illiterate comments I see on the web. So it's a compliment to her that those cretins hate her.

5. Carrie is like Sarah. I really don't have strong opinions about her (at least not at this point in time) but people go after her with such a viciousness, decent people have to support her. It's just the right thing to do.

6. Larry King is so repulsive--sorry Larry, you are not attractive, and the suspenders aren't enough of a distraction--I can hardly stand to go from his image on a split screen to hers.

Unknown said...

Carrie looked like a poor little girl who has more good stage presence that substance, who needed a prompter to keep telling her what to say or do (she seemed to be saying to the unseen person to her right "Should I leave now? Will Hannity applaud me if I leave Larry King's show"). To me it was a pathetic display of insecurity (she definitely looked like a puppet), and of staged (and badly rehearsed) outrage which ended up being completey disproportionate and hence looked totally unconvincing and made her look like a fool. If you decide to leave, then leave, but don't sit there without a mic looking like an idiot. Her and Palin are one and the same: pathetic ignorants who hide behing the "everybody is attacking me" banner. They are attacking you because you act like a moron and everybody is tired of your hipocrisy. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, but please don't offer this pathetic show in front of millions of CNN viewers. To repeat myself: how pathetic.

knox said...

Her and Palin are one and the same: pathetic ignorants...

See, there's some weird thing going on that really brings out the hate. (Is it that Palin and Prejean are both so exceptionally attractive?)

If she is indeed dumb... then she's a dumb beauty queen who's ***horrors*** unpolished on Larry King Live. What's the big deal?

It's a cliche, but: your nasty comments say more about you than either of these women.

Jeremy said...

Only the wing nuts here would support this uneducated hypocritical twit who goes on a call-in show and is amazed someone called in.

This is how I feel. I don't particularly care about Ms. Prejean, but she's treated with such ridiculous hatred that you just find yourself wanting to stand up to the leftoid thug posse to defend her honor.

Its like this is the only way they know how to respond to anyone who disagrees with them.

chickelit said...

you just find yourself wanting to stand up to the leftoid thug posse to defend her honor.

Exactly. And I would add that the leftoid thug posse seems mainly led by a few virulent leaders who deny the damage they inflict on their cause.

She was imitating her idol, Sara Palin:

Palin also writes harshly of CBS anchor Katie Couric, whom she describes as "badgering" and biased. Palin's series of interviews with Couric were widely regarded as disastrous, leaving the impression of an ill-informed candidate who was unsuited for the job. .

Oh my, if you ask me a difficult question you are a terrible person and I am a victim.

Prejean bailed on a D.C. speaking gig this afternoon, 5 minutes before she was to speak.

And the ex-boyfriend is claiming that Prejean was 20 in that infamous tape, and that it was one of many she sent him.

Not quite the book rollout her publicist must have been hoping for.
