"Is obsession with death a guy thing?"
Is obsession with death a bald guy thing?
Just kidding. To stave off the fear of death? Or is that not a problem for me, because I'm a girl?
Watch for the way Critchley says "love" and then sniffs. It's right at the end of the clip. That's a big clue.
Carry on.

Off-topic, but blog related:
When I view the Polanski post I only get the first 200 comments, and there is no "next button" to view the other 32. In the "post comment" side of the blog I can see the newer comments, but on the formatted side they stop at 200.
David, that's what Blogger does. I know it, and I can't help it. I'll put up another post about Polanski soon, and the discussion can move there. That's my only work-around.
Meanwhile, what about death and the bald guys who are obsessed with it?
They're both face touchers. Is that the key?
Face touching is a self-comforting, self-reassuring behavior...they really are worried about death.
I notice in my Bloggingheads videos that I touch my face -- I touch my right cheek with my finger -- when I feel that I'm being dishonest.
Whoever thinks women aren't obsessed with death needs to go to a Twilight convention or perhaps hang out with some goth girls.
If death is portrayed as romantic, women are all for it.
David, if you hit "post a comment" on a 200+ thread you will then have the option of looking at newer comments.
"Do you want to live forever" says the USMC leader to his men in battle. Yet older men become obsessed with being role players in the Guardian and his flock dramas of human life. A good shepard is our role model. ( See, Gran Torino by Clint Eastwood) so we get up every day with the purpose driven life of providing food by hunting/working, providing shelter by maintenance of the house and yard, providing protection by guns and courage to fight. We also learn to play the social/political games (This includes an Attorney's skills) BUT, we are still obsessed with defeating THE cruelest enemy of them all called Death. E.g.,The reawards for being called the free Health Care provider is today's seductive goal among the Glorious Democrats, but is opposed by the Death Panel aware Boomers. Meanwhile we are seeing a massive role out of End of the World Disaster flicks and faux scientific Docu-dramas telling us that Death may be stalking our planet like a hunter stalks his prey. The only missing piece is a new world-wide comfort giving religion thrown our way as soon as the claims of the Galilean Carpenter to have defeated Death by his death in our place have been sufficiently ridiculed out of the way.
Guys aren't obsessed with death unless they're in the thrall of philosophy 101; a small population of guys.
Woody Allen got lots of jokes out of it.
Google says they're aware of the 200 comment problem and are working on a fix.
Regarding bald guys obsessed with death; for now I am neither.
Try using a mail reader to read the comments - you can use the threading to keep track of multiple posts+comments.
Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once.
Of all the wonders that I yet have heard, it seems to me most strange that men should fear;
Seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come"
Yeah, I don't think men are (in general) obsessed with death.
Neurotic men, sure.
The one person I know who is overtly obsessed with death is a woman.
