Nice photo collection on your blog link. They were not wearing shorts, nor wearing longs. But does it matter if they were engaged in Outdoor Sports?

I bet that view of Lake Mendota sure is comfortingly familiar after a week of Rocky Mountain Highs and Rocky Mountain Lions.

Watched a show on TV last night about lions.

In one case, some guy was sticking his head in their mouths after they came to trust him, and he them, I guess? At least for now. Heck, this guy was taking great risk to save their baby cub, knowing he was the only thing between them and extinction.

In the other case, this really good looking guy was heavy-training a rogue pack of nasty wild lions so "eco-tourists" could come and take pictures of them "safely", thereby bringing money to the locals, not to mention fame to him when this series premiers on the Discovery Channel.

The science narrator genre, made popular in the late 60s.

"There are over 100 billion galaxies in the universe. Simply saying that number doesn't mean much to us because it doesn't provide any context. Our brains have no way to accurately put that in any meaningful perspective."

youtube.

100 billion is a twentieth of the 2009 Obama deficit.

It's doesn't seem so big now, astronomers.

Needed, a government narrator genre replacing the universe with the deficit.

Obama official photo scores low on inspiring.

An administration of a thousand lamenesses begins with a single bad idea.

I guess we see what happens at the Sunset tavern after the sun has finally gone down! Perhaps this poor almost-cop was heartbroken that Madison's most eligible bachelorette has been taken off the market?

The last salute of the sun
Above the masts at the docks
Let's us know the day is done --
Tomorrow the reign of clocks.

When I got to Madison in the mid-80s, I would often swim off that pier.

I don't do that anymore.

Water quality concerns, found a better spot, buoyancy problems?

Did anyone catch today's cool Google logo? Don't know what it refers to but it's beautifully done.

Bouyancy is rarely a concern as we age. More often it is reticence to display that which causes this increased bouyancy.

For me, at least.

rhhardin - Yes, but (cue music):

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth
.

The universe took a huge whizz
Spraying stars all over the place,
To let us know forevermore
Urine's a whiff of higher waste.

Blake,

Ho-hum, huh? Fine. I'll tell you what:

I'll sneak into your kid's bedroom and try to boink him in his sleep - specifically because he's white - and, then, you tell me how ho-hum you feel about the issue, or how well-versed you are in it, by current media portrayals.

You guys kill me sometimes.

ricpic,

Stop it. By now you should know me better than that. I was making a point - the article is about gays who are racially obsessed - so I was mashing that up with my own experiences, which I don't see reflected in the media.

But, if you want to play that game, whitey won't hit back? What do you call what you're doing? Being passive?

Dumb, man, really dumb.

WV: cystr - when ricpic jumps on a stupid comment to make one of his own.

Really? I thought it was about how stupid and awful religions are and there is no God and blah blah blah.

Dude, we all have our hobby horses. If you're making a point about homosexuals being racially obsessed, ask yourself, "Is this a time when I need to trot out every tired anti-religion sentiment I have, or can I just talk about the issue at hand?"

Yes, I know it's all connected somehow, but really, the old "religions have killed more people" saw is just not only not relevant to a discussion on gays and race, it's a stupid argument to make in a discussion about religion. We've seen man with religion, we've seen him without religion: No matter what, he kills his fellow man.

It's old, it's tired, and it detracts from anything new you might bring to the table.

Speaking of gays and race, where's Titus?
