Nikon and Canon present mini SLRs.

And the Nikon — according to David Pogue — is way better.

Gotta love the NYT - all the agit-prop that fits.

Physics are why the "polar ice caps" are melting.

Tell me, esteemed NYT, by how much has the ice pack on Antarctica been reduced?

What's that? It's gotten thicker? Don't tell Algore - he and his minions will be so disappointed...

dpreview didn't much like the Canon either. I tried its predecessor and didn't like it at all.

On the other hand, the Canon 5D got great reviews. I like the Canon images slightly more than the Nikon's and the form factor much more. Given Nikon's known lens quality, I look forward to full reviews of the D5000 by actual photographers.
