Speaking of cute kids for Obama.

Do you think McCain can even carry North Carolina? Because I don't.

Heather said...

I have to have Hope, Doyle.
Love from NC.

I think the only remaining question is whether, when this is finally over, John McCain will be left with more or less dignity than the average rodeo clown.

I do fear sometimes that McCain has totally doyled his chances.

Brilliant video!

Brian Doyle said...

Keep at it, mcg. It'll catch on sooner or later. You're too charismatic for it not to!

Disney cartoon "Education for Death" about how the Nazis brainwashed children and controlled families. Also, a recent German movie "Der Untergang" about Hitler youth and the last days of the Reich. You'll learn more about Madga Goebbels than you'd ever want to know....

Obama will do well in Asheville, among blacks, and around Raleigh, not so well elsewhere, especially among peckerwoods, 'necks, and crackers. McCain was up 15% a month ago. Big Palin rally today. Who knows.... The racial stuff will get ugly in NC. It always does.

Well, I admit it's slow going, Doyle, because you don't drop steaming troll turds like this in every thread you visit. So it takes a bit longer for people to make the association.

Brian Doyle said...

What am I supposed to be impressed with stupid wingnut YouTubes that attack Obama for being extremely popular?

LOL! There.

Unknown said...

No, I don't expect you to be impressed, but I do kind of expect you to talk about the topic at hand. Like you just did. Congratulations.

Brian Doyle said...

Hey the video is definitely election related. I didn't write that in one of her nature photography posts.

Moose said...

Man, I wish that was funny.

It's not...

Unknown said...

Oh, I see, Doyle. So you're so intellectually limited that your only two categories are "election" or "non-election". That's sad.

Popularity with kids, especially at the urging of parents and teachers is the weakest endorsement possible. Look what happened to all those kids who were told communists were everywhere and all the other brainwashing that went on in the fifties.

Not very long ago people were horrified at a video of kids being taught to fire a machine gun at some place in Oklahoma. And they find this cute?

Unknown said...

Anyway, as for the video itself. It had some funny parts but overall I thought it was kind of blah.

What did stick out to me, however, were all the advertisements excerpted. Among the North Korean political propaganda, the clip from Cabaret, and the clip from The Shining and other horror movies, and you've got advertisements for Oscar Mayer, Kool-Aid, and others.

They fit in surprisingly well, didn't they? Kind of makes you realize the degree to which kids are used as marketing tools. Obviously these are old examples but there are plenty of more modern examples as well.

Brian Doyle said...

No, sad is wingnuts trying to be funny.

MadisonMan said...

Yes, the ads were what jumped out at me as well. That and the fact that the whole thing is much more tolerable with the sound off. And I was just waiting for the Lord of the Flies to show up, too. 'Cause you just knew it would.

How dare you imply rodeo clowns have little dignity. Quail Dobbs served as a justice of the peace after three decades of rodeo clowning. Slim Pickens before he rode a nucular bomb to wipe out them pesky Russkis was an extremely popular rodeo clown. There is no place for clown racism in this country. Racist, bigot, you embody all that is wrong with America.

Thanks for info about the rally in NC. I've never been to one before. First time. I hope to get some good pictures.

I see a ton of McCain/Palin signs around Raleigh. To be fair, I see a bunch of Obama signs too.

McCain will do, ok, in the Raleigh area. Chapel Hill and Durham, not so much.

Heather said...

Dang, no more Palin tickets for the rally in NC today.

Brian Doyle said...

It's okay, Heather. Today's TV crews have microphone technology that can pick up all the screams of "Terrorist!" and "Sit down, boy" for your home viewing enjoyment.

Heather said...

Can we judge Obama by all the KOS kids?

Brian Doyle said...

I'm not saying you should judge McCain by them, but there they are.

Brian Doyle said...

And go ahead and judge Obama by Daily Kos. I don't like the site that much, but the idea that it's some terrible fever swamp is really overdone. I don't know if you actually read it (for one think Kos isn't an acronym) but you might be surprised.

Brian Doyle said...

For example, the meanest epithet you can currently find on the front page of Daily Kos right now (it's mostly polling data) is that John McCain is "dishonorable."

Where's the fainting couch?

Here is a follow up to yesterday's video. It turns out that the kids, the teacher and the school are local. I am not really surprised.

I had forgotten just how scary Billy Mumy was. Did anyone see Dear Brigitte?

Wow, this thread is totally doyled. Utterly doyleated. Infested with doyle. The doyle is turned up to eleven.

Unknown said...

Interesting. I remember (or do I) a previous story that said the teacher was in trouble for disseminating the video, not creating it. Of course that sounds suspiciously like the crime of getting caught. ]

Let's unDoyle it, my dearest Palladian.

Probably not this one. I hadn't heard of it until yesterday, and today's follow up. You can see the teacher fleeing the camera focus at some piint during the first 2 minutes.

piint = point, of cours

I was feading the troll. =(

To me it feels icky when children are used to push politics they don't really understand. It must be the bitterness of my California education bleeding through.

I even asked my mom not to coach my daughter to say "Sarah Rocks". But, it was very cute.

That the prospect of Sarah Palin being vice president doesn't make you feel icky is a pretty good sign your "California education" didn't exactly take.

And thank God for that.

It's actually called
Kalifornindoktrination

Please use the proper term

Thanks

"Kalifornindoktrination"

California Über Alles

"Zen fascists will control you
100% natural
You will jog for the master race
And always wear the happy face

Close your eyes, can't happen here
Big Bro' on white horse is near
The hippies won't come back you say
Mellow out or you will pay
Mellow out or you will pay!

California Uber Alles
California Uber Alles
Uber Alles California
Uber Alles California

Now it is 1984
Knock-knock at your front door
It's the suede/denim secret police
They have come for your uncool niece

Come quietly to the camp
You'd look nice as a drawstring lamp
Don't you worry, it's only a shower
For your clothes here's a pretty flower"
